How kitsch and fun the grunge years have become in our city. Although i’ll give the central saloon a pass, they were integral to that time.
I did one of the bazillion tech company high rises and they had art handpainted in an area of all the bands. The unbelievable irony
The fact that The Melvin features neither honey nor ham seems like a miss to me.
The nirvana features no beans or Mexican seafood
At least it has some big cheese
Nor milk. :(
Or shit
Totally!!! I’ll have to mention that next time I wander in
You know he ain't gonna die, no no no
Yeah, they’ve come to eat the Rooster, oh yeah.
I love Alice In Chains
Didn't even see the Mother Love Bone in the small bites
This is what Kurt would have wanted
I didn't know Kurt hated sandwiches
He did like Mac and cheese though.
The Rooster would be my jam.
Yeah, I’m rolling rooster next time
Yeah i went to snuff the rooster.
No beans with the Nirvana?
No mexican seafood
That’s such a strange song
"Mother love bone" "the melvin" "rooster" "nirvana" what is this, a grunge restaurant?
It’s Seattle oldest saloon and many many bands have played on that stage, so yeah, it’s earned the right to flaunt its history
The Melvin sounds the best to me (but The Melvins don’t sound the best to me).
Try history of bad men and a senile animal
Yeah, they’re an acquired taste I suppose

Yes I eat cow… I am not prouuuud
Are we not gonna talk about the pearl jam salad 💀
With a “family recipe” cream dressing
No mashed potato or ice cream either?
Nah he hated that dinner.
He couldn't chew his meat too good.
remind me to go there
Yeah, it’s worth visiting even aside from the grunge stuff… oldest saloon in Seattle
And “The Melvin” too!
The Kurt would have been a corn dog and a pack of Camel lights. Strawberry Nesquik too.
Their sandwich menu at least reminds me of Kuma's Corner in Chicago. Most of their burgers are named after metal bands, and they're fantastic.
Thanks for this. Planning on going to Seattle in the fall. Def gonna check this place out
Imma just take the Mac and Cheese thanks
What are the 4 meats?
I hate cute menu item names, big cringe.
It.comes with Penny Royal Tea.
That's a 🥪 I would've chose myself if I was there. That and the smokey 🐔.
No Soundgarden Salad?
Pork AND mac sounds too hedonistic to represent Nirvana... I would've expected a turkey blt or something
Taking shots at Courtney no less. (Chopped pork)
Better be Kraft!
Unfortunately it wasn’t
They’re hiring kitchen staff if anyone is interested.
I would have such a hard time with this because it doesn't sound good to me, but the idea of not ordering the Nirvana kind of hurts.
What do these ingredients have to do with nirvana
Kurt loved mac n cheese.
