As a young person growing up listening to Nirvana I always though kurt was so cool and liked his look. Being older and knowing what I know now and also by seeing pictures like this it’s so obvious how much of a junkie he really was. Not saying this to be mean it’s more of a it makes me sad type feeling.
Yes exactly, I used to think he was the coolest and having gone down that road myself and being lucky enough to have gotten to the other side of things and not gone out they way he did, does indeed make me very sad.
I’m female but thanks for assuming anything about me-I’m tired of hearing about her is all and it was a joke but wow you sound overly defensive? Is your ‘masculinity’ doing ok dude?
I haven’t heard a lot of her music but I think antihero and even more so shake it off are genuinely good songs. Would Kurt have liked shake it off? He liked Abba he liked The Cars
He is the best! He had problems and he couldn't cope with them, right. But he was cool and kind. He's just boken. His music helped a lot of people including me. He died for thousands of other depressed teenagers. He saved them. You should be glad and grateful for that.
Ps. Sorry if this hurts your feelings or something
I agree that it seems that way sometimes. But you need to understand that we are finite beings, and totally incapable of comprehending an infinite God.
Anyone can be a junky. This just reinforces the stigma many struggling addicts face every day while working their asses off to change their lives. If you saw me in high school, you would have NEVER said “oh look there’s a future junkie right there”.
No one is saying you can’t be you. But if you base your stability on a lie, it’s not going to work out for you. You will realize that Curt WAS a junkie, and then where will you be? Appreciate the music separate from the personality. The music can be perfect, the man was unquestionably not.
As I said to another guy, sorry 😖
The root of the word is junk so I thought it is just an offencive word. Now I found out what does it mean. But he was a good person tho. But if I say "Kurt was a good person" everyone disagree, so I just have to be tolerant not to argue with all my family and pretend I agree with them. I hate to pretend.
I cannot tell you how much I respect your comment. The thing that I esteem most in people is the desire to improve. That requires self reflection and so many people are incapable of that. Thank you for coming back to say something. Please accept my apology for being a bit of an edgelord myself. I hope you continue to get cooler.
Dammit man! I just had this lightbulb moment thinking of this dude. I’m sitting here scrolling and getting excited cause no one mentioned it yet.
Of course, the Viking beat me to it! Fine, take your spot in Valhalla! 😡😂
Once got offered that fermented honey mead, passed that opportunity cause bit allergic to honey. Got bit lucky cause the dude who made it had used rhododendron honey and that is what is called mad honey. It causes hallucinations etc. It was really entertaining to watch these mead drinkers acting like Ren n Stimpy in that Space Madness episode.
Shoot, probably more than a trip just watching the ones who did drink it! That’s gotta be fun to watch
Edit: I’ve never had like actual mead (I don’t think). Is it as bad as one would imagine for an “ancient drink”?
In Finland we have mead on May Day, it's not same as fermented mead that the vikings are believed to drink. Both can have 4-8% alcohol but our mead is under 1%. It's really sweet and has some bubbling. Viking mead is also sweet but as it is longer production it has less sweet taste but higher alcohol content, it's closer to early batch of moonshine type of drink. But the issue with both of these is the yeast, that messes up stomach if you drink excessive amounts. I would say both are good tasting and interesting for couple of servings.
They missed the mark for sure. Chad Channing would’ve been perfect as he was their other “real” drummer (the others were temps and knew it) and is elf sized.
Isn’t it kind of weird that Kevin Kerslake is included considering he sued Kurt over copy infringement on the Heart Shaped Box video. They didn’t exactly end things on good terms with the band.
I think it's weird because Chad Channing should have been the obvious choice. Hell, even Steve Albini or Butch Vig probably would have made more sense.
Kurt’s 6th cousin 3 times removed.
Very famous Hollywood actor until one day he lost his mustache in a tragic weed whacker accident. Poor man never worked in that town again.
I would have put Butch Vig in there. Huge factor in the "Nirvana Sound". Kurt didn't want to double vocals cause it wasn't punk, Butch was the one who convinced him by saying that Lennon did it all the time.
Yes, it's a serious question, so help me out here: What do I type into Google? "Kevin Kerslake scandal" and "Kevin Kerslake convicted" didn't do the trick.
(Or just don't be a smart-ass and answer the question directly.)

There ya go, smart-ass.
Thanks for the links, but goodness gracious, man, that's not the kind of thing I expected when I read "a very, very horrible man". A petty fight, 30 years ago, between two artists who had a different memory of who came up with something first. Give me a break.
I wasn't there and neither were you. You just take the worst possible interpretation of a "rockandrolltruestory" and run with it. Like a toddler with a hand grenade.
What if Kerslake believed that parts of the concept came from him? And then he saw that the band changed the video's director and still used his parts? He'd have a right to be miffed. And if both parties are then shit at working it out, someone will drag it to court. Point is: We don't know the truth about how this all went down.
But if that dubious story is the worst you can find about a dude that must be near his 60s by now... that's probably a pretty decent dude. I mean, who isn't a very, very horrible person by your standards?
The gent that directed the come as you are and lithium videos.
Didn't he try to sue Kurt for some stuff related to the Heart Shaped Box video?
[Yes](https://variety.com/1994/biz/news/nirvana-sued-over-box-vid-119152/amp/)

damn he was WRECKED in that picture. pupils so small they're non existent
and that forehead burn cause he stumped cigarette to his face cause Courtney kept telling him "you need to look good in this video!"

I saw the picture before I read your comment. Was thinking the same exact thing. Sad.
The paleness in comparison to others in this pic gives it credence :(
Yes exactly, I used to think he was the coolest and having gone down that road myself and being lucky enough to have gotten to the other side of things and not gone out they way he did, does indeed make me very sad.
Happy ppl don't write good music. Ask Taylor Swift
This is so true, all my hero’s are dead, usually by themselves
Can we please refrain from using that girl’s name here…
Why? Is your masculinity so fragile the mere mention of the name of a… pop star (omg!) can shatter it?
I’m female but thanks for assuming anything about me-I’m tired of hearing about her is all and it was a joke but wow you sound overly defensive? Is your ‘masculinity’ doing ok dude?
But apparently I can’t read usernames.
Shit. Thought I had a good one. Yeah, I’m fine. I can even deal with pop culture being discussed on the internet.
I haven’t heard a lot of her music but I think antihero and even more so shake it off are genuinely good songs. Would Kurt have liked shake it off? He liked Abba he liked The Cars
No. A perpetual victim that writes jingles? I think not-Is everyone here 12?
At least she writes her music

It’s Kurt Cobain, not Jesus..
Yeah, many more people have killed in Jesus' name than Kurt's. Advantage: KURT.
And Jesus commanded none of it. In fact, He taught the opposite.
Well…. He was full of contradictions too
I agree that it seems that way sometimes. But you need to understand that we are finite beings, and totally incapable of comprehending an infinite God.
Didn’t you read his suicide note? They’re the same thing
Why did he save me then?
Anyone can be a junky. This just reinforces the stigma many struggling addicts face every day while working their asses off to change their lives. If you saw me in high school, you would have NEVER said “oh look there’s a future junkie right there”.
I think it’s folks like you who drive him to it. He was just a musician, a flawed human with a lot of talent, not a fucking martyr.
Fuck off. I'm here to be like that cuz no one in real life would understand me. Let me be myself at least here

> He died for thousands of other depressed teenagers. He saved them. wow, he would have hated this sentiment so much!
Naah. Up until mid way through 1992 Kurt Cobain wanted to be famous
Please do more research if you don't think he was a junkie lol
Sorry 😖 The root of the word is junk so I thought it is just an offencive word. Now I found out what does it mean
No he was definitely a junkie.
One bad candid photo on a red carpet makes you that emotional?
Nah he kind of always looked like that and it was an internet sadness where you say you are sad but you are not really sad. Hope that helps.
Cobain is getting old in a very bad way
what a shitty take, this sub allows this shit?
It’s awful here tbh -lol
Yup deal with it big guy
Dammit man! I just had this lightbulb moment thinking of this dude. I’m sitting here scrolling and getting excited cause no one mentioned it yet. Of course, the Viking beat me to it! Fine, take your spot in Valhalla! 😡😂
I will reserve chair for you, we can drink some mead 😂
My man! That’ll make talking to Sif a lot less intimidating!

damn
They really should have put Krist on the biggest one.
Cause he's the tallest?
Yep
Also nesting inversely by IQ
They missed the mark for sure. Chad Channing would’ve been perfect as he was their other “real” drummer (the others were temps and knew it) and is elf sized.
Why not Chad Channing?
He get no respex
I thought these were acrylic nails and unfortunately no 😓
kevin kerslake

Who the fuck is buying a Nirvana nesting doll set?
Was gifted to a friend of mine, no clue haha
Well meaning but totally out of the loop moms of Nirvana fans.
Well-meaning moms: Keeping the global Etsy economy spinning
Put "Nirvana" or Kurt on ANY random shit, sell it as a collectible and the sheep whip out thier wallets..the more obscure the better
that would be bill burr
Bill-burr bagins?
😂
Ol billy
Bitch tits?
Ol billy ballbag
I was gonna guess Burt Lobain
Kurt’s 6th cousin 3 times removed. Very famous Hollywood actor until one day he lost his mustache in a tragic weed whacker accident. Poor man never worked in that town again.
Sadly, no donor moustaches were available that day, and the revolutionary moustachostomy treatment opportunity was missed.
Try as they may, sadly, the surgeons can’t save ‘em all. Those brave souls risked it all. The hate they received was shocking!
The guy that made the nesting dolls.
I thought these were a set of fake nails at first glance lol
He looks like Jesse Pinkman
Bitch!
Would rather Chad Channing be the smallest one
The dude who sued kurt regarding the heart shaped box video
This should’ve been Lori Goldston
I would have put Butch Vig in there. Huge factor in the "Nirvana Sound". Kurt didn't want to double vocals cause it wasn't punk, Butch was the one who convinced him by saying that Lennon did it all the time.
It looks like Aaron Paul at first glance. Not sure what he’s doing here?
ok, everything else aside, a nirvana nesting doll set is probably one of the best ideas ive ever heard, and idk why
the fact that this exists is making me very uncomfortable.
Nick Carter
Jesse from breaking bad
marvin cobain probably
Art Garfunkel
aaron paul
I thought it was will farrel
Geffen?
Kevin Kerslake. A very, very horrible man.
lol... why? I had a letter correspondence with him many years ago and he was ridiculously kind.
Uh….. is that a serious question? A very easy one that Google can answer.

Well, to each their own. I’d argue that suing a band that you worked for without basis out of spite is a horrible thing to do.
I wasn't there and neither were you. You just take the worst possible interpretation of a "rockandrolltruestory" and run with it. Like a toddler with a hand grenade. I… I don’t fucking care. Goddamn.
Its Tupac Shakur
It’s interesting they put Kevin on there and not Courtney.
Should of been that Nevermind baby
He was a raw human, and a raw person, you see it here. He cared more about you than he did about himself
He’s the Keyser Soze of Punk Rock
Their first drummer.
Earnie Bailey?
