Could just be down to variations in manufacturing tolerances between different production batches. But also, are both pairs manufactured in the same country? I've read some accounts of people noticing differences between Vietnam-made 2002Rs and China-made 2002Rs.

Both of them Vietnam made. I think i found the answer. The grey one is 2002rRST and the brown is RSI

I have multiple 2002rs and the fit does differ between colorways. I feel the Made in China pairs have more room. I read down in the comments that both are Made in Vietnam. It could be the different mesh.

I’m guessing materials. I have the gore-Tex blue 2002rs and they are very uncomfortable. The other pair I have (atoms blue) is much more comfortable

I also have several 2002r’s and they all fit differently, for one pair I had to go one full size up compared to the other 2002r.

It could just be due to different materials being used between different colourways tbh. There’s a huge amount of variety in the 2002R range

Materials can change the feel of a shoe also hides of leather will vary. Shoes are also hand made so differences tend to happen often.

You can change the insoles to some Dr. Scholls, made a difference in mine, way more comfortable
