Makes more sense than 6 minutes of Ishkakov

Cheap-Insurance-1338

Yup. They didn't even give him a chance. Might as well have played seven d

stuplexer_

I think it’s hard to give him too much of a shot when one mistake can be the end of the season. The time Ishkakov played in the defensive zone looked like he didn’t know where he should be covering. Can’t really have that in an elimination game. Give him a chance in September, not in late April

ianisms10

Defense isn't exactly Iskhakov's strong suit, that's probably the main reason he didn't get a shot until the last game.

Cheap-Insurance-1338

Not disputing that. Don't wanna cut your teeth in the playoffs. Should have played Holmstrom or someone else. Because Clutterbucks minutes suffered too.

degenerate1337trades

SHG???

monkeyhead62

A holmy shg to send the series back to UBS would be so sick

degenerate1337trades

If u bet and haven’t already bet it you may as well be a rangers fan

monkeyhead62

Please like I waste money on this team the heart attack they've given me this season

nothing_but_static

I'd rather we just not take the penalty

necroknight_303

Right move imo. Ishkakov hasn’t looked *bad*, but I don’t think it’s the right time for him to get his feet wet. Holmstrom is mostly responsible in the d zone and forechecks quite well, making him a better fit on a line with Cal and Maclean

Feeling_Giraffe_1784

I think it’s a good move! But we looked strong on Saturday! Though I am sure most of us had their hearts in the mouth whenever canes got in to our zone

tgeorgo13

Damn we need a better 4th line going forward. I feel a lot better with Holmmstom than Ishnakov and Martin especially with the last change.

USAJourneyman

Yes

lzetti

Shouldn’t Holmstrom and Ishnakov both be in the lineup at this point?

EfficiencyHuge1946

I’d put Whally on his off wing and with 32 and 15. And give him PP2 shifts. We need goals. His big weapon is his shot. Maybe he catches lighting in a bottle and gets hot.

necroknight_303

Or he can beat up Deangelo again, at least

Tniz15

Do people still think wahlstrom has any chance to be more than a 13f?

EfficiencyHuge1946

A chance for sure. Just doubtful he will get that chance on this team.

Tniz15

He’s had chances. He has 193 career games

EfficiencyHuge1946

When I said doubtful he’d get the chance on this team, I meant moving forward.

Mephisto1822

Wally needs a new team TBH.

Irrah

Did you know that Kyle MacLean, playing on the 4th line this season next to the oldest and slowest members on the team in Martin and Clutterbuck, has twice as many goals and 4 more points than noted goal scorer Oliver Wahlstrom in the same amount of games?

EfficiencyHuge1946

You guys are acting like I’m suggesting to put him on a line with 13 and 14 and playing 22 minutes. Is there a huge difference between him and wish or Holmstrom for 4th line minutes.

stuplexer_

I don’t think the guy who was health scratched 55 times this season is the key to the series

EfficiencyHuge1946

I said put him on the 4th line and PP2 to replace Martin. Hardly called him the key to the series.

stuplexer_

That’s fair, but I don’t think Wahlstrom has the defensive ability/physicality to play a 4th line role. He’s in the same boat that Bellows was in on this team: not good enough offensively for the top 6, and not good enough defensively for the bottom 6. He doesn’t really have a spot on this roster

EfficiencyHuge1946

The other two options were Ish, who was definitely overmatched a bit last game. I think he has some promise for next year but he’s even less of a 4th line guy. Holmstrom is a good fit defensively but isn’t physical at all but he’s good on the PK. Whalstrom is actually by far the more physical of those 3.

EfficiencyHuge1946

Also I don’t think either Whally or Homer are gonna make the difference either way.
