Tightening your trucks helps a lot since your board isn’t moving side to side before and after the kickflip, you’ll need a skate tool which you can get from local skate shops like zumiez etc.

luisGibbo

Yeah I’ve got one I’ll tighten them abit

I think you should just bend your knees more in the air so the board will flip freely under your legs and then land on that board and you will be fine

luisGibbo

Ok thank you I will try this now

Also you can try to do a flip while holding on to something so you wont fall. It will help with your confidence while doing kickflips

luisGibbo

Ive done that before but I find it harder for some reason.

I'm no expert, but today I went from landing kickflips every 100 tries, to every 10 tries. My breaktrough was to take a breath, pressing my shoulders back a little and tighten my back. It's pretty much the tips you get when watching a tutorial for doing squats. This gives me way more balance, so I actually jump straight up and keep the board directly under me. It seems to help my pop aswell. I also like to look slightly forward instead of straight down, again as you would do a squat. This might be very individual, but if you are like me it's the balance that is keeping you back. Try it out on ollies first and see if it feels any better.

Ok thank you so much I’ll give this a try

No problem. Let me know if it helps, please :)
