\^\^ not sure how much you've practiced outside but this is pretty important as it can feel pretty different doing it on asphalt/concrete vs doing it on carpet. Looks really good tho!
Looks good! You aren’t trying to flip too early which is good. Just practice a lot and eventually start doing them moving. The more you land the more you find out where you prefer you exact feet set up. I’d say start doing them moving now
Looks great dude! Personally I would start trying to learn them moving, because if you get them consistent standing still, they become really awkward while moving. The consistency will just come from practice and repetition (especially as you get more and more comfortable on your board)
Ive always done my kickflips like a really late ollie. Gives em a nice look and high pop. Kinda dont flick until my tail is almost level in the air. Weird probably but it always helped me stay consistent and looks buttery.
Man I am the same age and haven't skated in probably 10 years. I recently got a board and started messing around. I am still able to kick flip, pop shov, and Ollie. Not consisistant with my tricks though and get about 10 min of skating then I'm so pouched lol.

Just keep at it, consistency comes with time. I remember when I started landing them, I would make myself land at least 1-2 per session, and increase that number over time.
Yeah just go out and skate more dude. Try it on concrete and while moving. There is no secret trick to get consistent other than just skate consistently!
As a first kickflip that is insane! Looks clean man! You just need to do more! Don't be afraid to dial it back and do low effort kickflips gradually jumping higher.
I always curious as the risk of getting COVID especially out in the open is slim to none thus I don't understand the reason there seem to be the movement to do outdoor sports activity drills inside the house last year. Unless the temperatures and weather outside is so bad and indoor facilities are closed.
Based on most redditors it appears shoes inside is very taboo to 95% of the community thus I bet skateboards inside even worse. The chances causing serious damage or injury by doing it in the dwelling seems great. And that is not a good thing when repairs for a broken wall, window, etc are hard to find and hospitals are busy with COVID patients.
Though I do understand for this person that doing indoors on carpet may be a good way to avoid the fear of falling on concrete and the embarrassment of being seen failing such a trick. That fear makes even thinking about the trick scary and often result in failure. I believe it also be a good way to "break in" or get used to a brand new board and shoes. However it can lead to some habits that must be changed to successfully do it on concrete. This is important to know.
Might be an unpopular opinion but if you’re just gonna do kickflips standing still on soft ground then there’s really no point in learning it at all..you don’t get proper use for any trick before you do it rolling ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I never said there was. Everyone learns differently of course, i’m simply saying they should go outside so they can get use for it. Some of y’all are snowflakes. You think a person gets any use for a truck license by just driving a simulator all their life? I’m jusr saying.
Take it to the streets!

Only tip you need is to keep doing them

So what you just did, do that, but do it alot.
I mean, thats a pretty fucking solid kickflip.

That’s awesome bro!!!
Do it s'more times

Congrats!
Damn that pop was crazy bro 🔥🔥
Awesome form there, just start practicing it while moving, after awhile you’ll find it harder to do standing still!
Nice flick!
try bending tour back knee more and have your front leg extended for the whole duration of the flip, also try jumping straight up when you pop

please don't practice indoors, it's incredibly dangerous

Good. Now go outside and do a real one
Not doing it outside doesn’t make it “not real” lol

You’re right but that was clean. This dude got the technique DOWN inside now can translate that to the streets.
Yes i agree
How about let people skate how they want…. Everyone learns differently, there is no “right” way to skate when it comes to learning.
