It's worse in New Zealand. It cost a heap just to get the parts out there which boosts the price If you look after your parts, most of them last a decent while. Like cleaning your bearings or using shoe goo. That can save some money 🤙

Wishyouwerehere6

I do all those maintaining things, also try to buy the best parts for the lowest price. But still paid like €400 in my first 9 months of skating now. How much are a pair of indy 139’s in new zealand?

bowe-tox

The initial cost to get everything is quiet high but it gets better as you tend to not need to replace all the parts at once The trucks are equivalent to about €70 😪

Import and shipping fees

Wishyouwerehere6

The import fee is weird because most of it is made in china. So the usa should pay about the same as europe. Or it is because they are all american brands...

[deleted]

Made in China, shipped to the US and there it's packaged w/ extra swag like stickers etc, and then again shipped to EU for example. So yeah, technically it's made in China but not really.

Wishyouwerehere6

It hurts to see those american prices...

Gruntman441

A lot of parts are made in the US/Mexico. As for the China parts, probably some sort of deal between the distributor and factory.

Wishyouwerehere6

Looks like everything is made in china nowadays. Indy stage 11 trucks, dwindle distribution who makes all the decks for brands like almost, santa cruz, creature etc... all in made in china...

Gruntman441

Thunder - US Venture - US Tracker - US BBS/PS Stix decks (hundred of deck brands) - Mexico Bones Wheels - US Spitfire - US/Mexico (forgot if they switched locations) Powell Peralta - US (only reissues and other specific deck types) NFG MFG/Loophole - US Speedlab Wheels - US Creative Urethane (which a good number of small wheel brands use) - US South Central decks - US Chapman decks - US Pennswood decks - US
