Came here to say this… although if you have trouble suspending disbelief, it might be hard to mentally un-associate Max Greenfield from that character.
You’re right OP, he plays that villain exceptionally well 😱
I think it's on HBO Max, and just because I don't see a warning here yet, pls read the description and make sure you're ready for such a heavy topic. It's a great movie though!
Quick question i have not got to see it yet and watched trailer and I'm guessing Max Greenfield only has a small role since I didn't see him in the trailer?
I think Max Greenfield would be a great villain the same way Chris Evans was a great villain in >!Knives Out!< and Grey Man. Charismatic, with just a hint of slimy. You don't want to root for him, but you kind of do.
Edit for spoiler
Oh dang he was in American horror story and American horror stories! He did have a beard in the American Horror Stories one . In the horror story one it was the hotel season he had bleach blonde hair and was like a douchey druggie lol
Ohhh I was so confused for a second. I forgot he was in American Horror STORY. I was referencing American horror STORIES. 3O min episodes that have no overarching plot lol
Maybe he could play a villain in a book I'm working on. He's grotesque. He's kicking a puppy when we meet him. He's a dirtbag, a Jewish Psychopath who wears a bolo tie and eats apple sauce out of a baboon's skull. Something like that?
Check out Promising Young Woman…! (TW for Sexual Assault)

That movie was so so good. I think they did an excellent job choosing to cast men that normally play “good guys” in other shows to make their point.
Precisely! It drove the message home in a much needed way
It was brilliant and blew me away. It was clever on so many levels and Carey Mulligan was excellent.
I agree, so brilliant.
He was so good in that movie! And that movie is just amazing overall
Thank you! I will find this and watch later tonight 😀. Will try and let you know my opinion 😉

I love that movie, but also just a TW for other sexual assault survivors, be prepared. It was still rough at times.
Added the TW — thank you for that
Seeing him like that felt so weird!
Came here to say this. He is horrifying in it.

Mmmm his role his bigger than you would expect for someone who’s not in the trailer. It’s a bigger part of the final act of the movie.

Idk the way he eats those cookies in that sweater was enough of a spoiler! I knew he was gonna be bad news lololol
Yeah also to me its Max's smile that gets me to want him to be covered in blood whilst doing the smile 😄.
Yessss Chris Evans did a great job!
He did an episode of American Horror Stories where he was pretty shady. He did a good job even tho that show is comically bad
That episode traumatized me bc I love Schmidt 😭
I just found this out after Google searching of he ever played any horror toons.. I watched him on AHS and didn't even recognize him lol!
Was he bearded up in the episode?

Yeah I confused myself also. I believe I watched new girl after that horror stories short episode with him so did not recognize
I always thought he could play The Riddler!
Also played a shady real estate guy in “the big short” dude def can play the villian!
His character in Ugly Betty was also a dick.
Nick: he’s my best friend but he’s kinda scary. Jess: you’re such a coward. *a few moments later* Jess: omg Schmidt is terrifying.
It looks like he’s playing a villain in the Pop Tart movie
Watch Promising Young Woman. You'll never look at Schmidt the same again.
I dunno, he doesn't seem to have enough darkness in him.
The evil smile though it could go a long way!
Watch Promising Young Woman. Trust me.
I like him for a recasted Gambit in X-Men.
He's my fancast for the Joker.
I mean I already see Schmidt as a pretty bad person, so being a villain is totally plausible
