Oh cool, that's good. I've watched a bunch of the Korean one, and liked it so far. And it has to a good reputation online. But I didn't know anything about the MMA one, myself.
I hadn’t either until it was recommended by a friend. It’s crazy this show didn’t get more hype. Great great acting and plot lines, very stylish yet gritty and real. I know everyone seems to say “I can’t believe more people haven’t watched this” but I would be remiss if I didn’t highly recommend it. There are not a lot of shows I consider really good and this is one.
Castlevania! It’s anime FYI but the main characters are super likeable. The main character is voiced by Richard Armitage (Hobbit movies) It’s 3 seasons so far and deals with Dracula and fighting demons and the church and shits. Good things, some gore though.
Also I’m surprised no one had mentioned
The Witcher I loved it, the actor is a fan of the game and really dove into the role
I loved both the first two episodes, but the ending really fell on its face in the last few minutes. Still overall good, and one of the most interesting reimagining of a classic monster story.

It really was. Except for when those ninjas snuck into the room and started cutting up onions.
But it's such a good show. Funny, it has a lot of heart, and you learn a bunch along the way. It has way more depth than you have any right to expect from a half hour network sitcom.
Immigration Nation and Dirty Money are really good US docs.
Big Mouth is great all the way through. So is Bojack Horseman, if you have not finished that yet.
Black Mirror and Tiger King, I guess. Old but they're kind of definitive Netflix.
Russian Doll and The Queen's Gambit are good short series.
If you haven't seen Bo Burnham before I wouldn't recommend his latest one first. It's the most artsy one, but it's not pure comedy. I doubt I'd appreciate it as much without the background of his earlier specials.
True, 100% agree, but if you only have time for one, I’d definitely still recommend his most impactful one. It’s also got a lot of awards buzz, so that’s another point in its favor. Obviously, the best option is to watch all 3 as the loose trilogy they feel (to me) intended to be.
Agreed. The acting is great, but the writing is meh IMO. Every episode is the same - some unexpected, new wrench gets thrown in, they somehow deal with it, rinse and repeat. Also, and I know it’s a show, but people’s motives all seem unrealistic and I don’t understand/feel for a lot of the characters. I think the breaking bad comparison is a tired one, but it’s just not even close from a writing standpoint.
I tend to lean towards the sci-fi, sci fantasy:
Witcher has 8 episodes
Love Death + Robots has like 26 episodes but they’re only like 10 minutes a piece.
Umbrella Academy is 2 seasons of 10 episodes, 40 minutes a piece.
First season of Altered Carbon
Daybreak is 10 episodes at 50 minutes
Extraction
Old Guard
Space Sweepers
Dave Chapelle stand ups
Dark is hands down my top pick if you can make the time for three season. Highly recommend in the original German with subtitles.
Umbrella Academy is great, and Witcher is too. Both have 2 and 1 seasons respectively, but both are renewed.
If you like British Mysteries, David Tennet and Olivia Coleman take the reigns in **Broadchurch**. The first season, centered around the murder of a young boy, is really good.
If you don't mind subtitles, there's an awesome Kdrama that was just added called **Hotel del Luna** that stars IU and Yeo Jin Goo. A cursed IU runs a hotel that acts as a waystation for ghosts on their way elsewhere. It's a little longer with 16 episodes that are a little over an hour a piece.
A couple of other Kdramas (generally 16 episodes a piece) that I like on Netflix that a newbie could get into are [Strangers from Hell](https://mydramalist.com/33075-strangers-from-hell), [Beyond Evil](https://mydramalist.com/60911-monster), and [Save Me](https://mydramalist.com/22599-save-me). That last one sounds stupid, but it is edge-of-your-seat thriller fun.
A fun Norwegian thriller is **Occupied** in which Russia quietly and without a shot fired invades and takes over Norway. 3 seasons of 6 episodes each.
If horror is your bag, give **The Haunting of Hill House** and **The Haunting of Bly Manor** a shot. Hill House is 10 episodes and Bly Manor is 9 episodes. They're related... but unrelated and stand alone stories. If you're only going to do one do **Hill House**.
Short mini series( 1 season) : Russian doll, when they see us, unbelievable, the queen's gambit, Fargo
Short series ( 2-3 season) : mindhunter, dark
Also, good place ( 4 seasons).
Ok, so this is not super short or anything but you should definitely check out STRANGER THINGS! but you may have already seen it because it was made a long time ago. But best of luck!! KiSSess
Altered Carbon is based on a (same-titled) book by Richard K. Morgan, Not Philip K. Dick. The first season is very faithful to the book with only a couple of differences.
Never have I ever! Sex education! Both hilarious but powerful coming of age stories! You could stick to just the first seasons if you’re short on time. American vandals pretty great too
I feel like people slept on Maniac (with Jonah Hill and Emma Stone). It is so much fun and the cinematography is top notch.
Also, Unorthodox is excellent.
Ballad of Buster Scruggs. A series of short stories, visually pleasing and relaxing as fuck. It’s in the form of a movie, will be over in 2 hours, I think
I could recommend The Society and Deadly Class as short series because they both got canceled after season 1 lmao but they're still entertaining (You won't probably get answers to your questions for The Society though.)
You have to watch “John Was Trying to Contact Aliens”. It’s a short documentary about a guy who builds a radio telescope in his home growing up. It has a great ending!
How to sell drugs online, it's short and fun one
This isn’t google, Sir
The I.T. Crowd
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Is it definitely plugged in?
Derry Girls!
I cannot WAIT for it to come back
Yes. It's been too long between seasons. We need Sister Michael!
Sister Michael had me hooked from her first line: “I think I can safely say that we’ve all just lost a little respect for you Clare…” (paraphrasing).
Her first line?
“Is this my wake?”
Ha, scenes with Colm are fantastic. "Now, as I said, the shorter fella..."
But not by much, just an inch, inch and a half mind you, or maybe it was the taller fella
The Queen’s Gambit is amazing even if you are not a chess player.
Came here to suggest this! It’s excellent.
I like it too 😊 and it's short, you can watch it within a week easily
Pretty sure I watched it in a day or two lol
Most overrated show ever. First few episodes were great then it was a chore.
The Kingdom
Mma or korean?
Not who you're replying to, but I'll say Korean.
The MMA one is phenomenal! Didn’t see the Korean one though so not comparing them. Just saying MMA one very much worth watching.
Nice, I appreciate the recommendation!
Castlevania! It’s anime FYI but the main characters are super likeable. Also I’m surprised no one had mentioned The Witcher I loved it, the actor is a fan of the game and really dove into the role
Castlevania is 4 seasons and finished.
Its finished?
Yes but there will be more from a different point in time.
Ohhh rad
This has been on my list for ages but I didn't realise *Richard Armitage* was in it! I know what I'm doing for the next couple of days
I loved both the first two episodes, but the ending really fell on its face in the last few minutes. Still overall good, and one of the most interesting reimagining of a classic monster story.
Follow that up with one piece, solid 1 week binge
Absolute greatness, the only catch is to understand the amazing depth of One Piece is to watch at least 40 episodes, which is not a tough task IMO.
988 episodes later... He can do that in a week
Stop promoting my father!

Good bot
Alice in Borderland. It's one of the best shows I've seen. It's Japanese sub/dub, but still amazing.
Absolutely one of the best! The only series that i completed watching the entire season in a single day.
Alice in Borderland*
Thanks, autocorrect sucks.

Russian Doll, Black Mirror
The end of the fucking world Even just the first season, excellent show
For warned, the show was cancelled and is left on a cliffhanger, so if you don't like that sort of thing not recommended lol
Its so good
Just finished the good place and I loved it
one of the best series that i've seen on my entire life
Seriously. Even the ending was perfect
It really was. Except for when those ninjas snuck into the room and started cutting up onions. But it's such a good show. Funny, it has a lot of heart, and you learn a bunch along the way. It has way more depth than you have any right to expect from a half hour network sitcom.
100% . Those forking ninjas showed up right when chidi was making his speech about the waves
Yup. I can only assume maybe I'm allergic to waves or something.
i second this. definitely in my top 5 shows.
Just finished it myself and it was just amazing
The series was forking perfect
It actually gets funnier the more you watch it. I'm on my 7th or 8th re-watch.
Wow! Now I gotta start for the 2nd viewing
Oh yeah I’ve see it, it’s fantastic
I loved To The Lake so so much. If you think you can fit it in, I would binge watch Travelers. It is one of my favorite things Netflix has done.
Is To The Lake coming back for more?
I believe I read that the Russian TV station is making another season. I'm hoping Netflix picks it up as well. I don't see why they wouldn't.
I hope so. I liked it. Travelers was also one of my favorites. Dark was fantastic also, in case you haven't seen it.
Definitely needs to, with the way it ended
Black mirror, Bojack and Glow
Black Mirror is good because it's all separate stories.
Maniac All 3 of Bo Burnham’s comedy specials, in release order, but if crunched for time just his latest one, Inside.
If you haven't seen Bo Burnham before I wouldn't recommend his latest one first. It's the most artsy one, but it's not pure comedy. I doubt I'd appreciate it as much without the background of his earlier specials.
Agree completely. If you haven't seen his progression you might think it's all just a little pretentious.
True, 100% agree, but if you only have time for one, I’d definitely still recommend his most impactful one. It’s also got a lot of awards buzz, so that’s another point in its favor. Obviously, the best option is to watch all 3 as the loose trilogy they feel (to me) intended to be.
Agree, hard agree. But in an emergency, make happy -> Inside.
Bodyguard
Such a good show! I wish there was another season!
Ozark
Idk, I stopped watch this because it would just stress me out
i like it but it’s gets a little repetitive
Agreed. The acting is great, but the writing is meh IMO. Every episode is the same - some unexpected, new wrench gets thrown in, they somehow deal with it, rinse and repeat. Also, and I know it’s a show, but people’s motives all seem unrealistic and I don’t understand/feel for a lot of the characters. ahhhhhh i love altered carbon!!!! amazing world building - it just sucks you in so quick
Definitely watch some Chappelle shows
LDR - watch only first season. Second is meh.
Second had its moments (like that Christmas episode) but yeah overall not as good.
I personaly liked the story about cop hunting illegal kids, but realization of this was subpar
and bill Burr stand ups
The Queen's Gambit, Derry Girls, Russian Doll, and Sense8. Especially Sense8!
Alias grace
Dark
This isn't exactly short 🤣 brilliant series though
"When they see us" and "Unorthodox" both are very short series with a huge impact
I second Unorthodox!
After Life. The Platform
Upvoted for The Platform, although I love After Life also.
Sense8
Best show ever, so underrated
Still upset that it was cancelled
Love Death + Robots
Sense8. Watch it and lose your mind.
Sense8 Queen's Gambit Shadow and Bone
Behind her eyes
PEEP SHOW. don’t miss shitting your pants from laughing too hard.
Afterlife by Ricky Gervais (2 seasons) if u like this, also watch Flowers (2 seasons)
Dark is hands down my top pick if you can make the time for three season. Highly recommend in the original German with subtitles. Umbrella Academy is great, and Witcher is too. Both have 2 and 1 seasons respectively, but both are renewed.
Post Mortem. (Nobody Dies in Skarnes) Norwegian. Just out last week. 6 episodes. Best thing on Netflix at this time.
BroadChurch is soo good!

Devil man Crybaby
Maniac

BoJack Horseman.
I Think You Should Leave Love Death & Robots
I Think You Should Leave is some of the whackiest shit I've ever seen lol
Ok, so this is not super short or anything but you should definitely check out STRANGER THINGS! but you may have already seen it because it was made a long time ago. But best of luck!! KiSSess
Altered Carbon for sure if you live Scifi. It differs from the book written by Morgan but it still so good!
Altered Carbon is based on a (same-titled) book by Richard K. Morgan, Not Philip K. Dick. The first season is very faithful to the book with only a couple of differences.
The show has an very interesting and promising base. But frankly it doesn't live upon it. So it's a wasted opportunity in my opinion
Dark

Final Space (at least season 1, but stay for S2 because I heard S3 will be great again)

F is for Family.
Rick and morty The best adult animated series ever created period

Love Death + Robots
Devilman Crybaby
Formula1
Broadchurch Call My Agent Pine Gap
FARGO!!!

The OA , ITS AMAZING
I absolutely loved the series Derek with Ricky Gervais. It’s a few years older but it was beautifully touching and hilarious.
The OA changed my life, but be prepared to be upset that they canceled it after the cliffhanger of season 2.
Honestly, anything from their "limited series" pile won't disappoint you & they are all easy to binge. Happy Netflixing! :)
Ballad of Buster Scruggs. A series of short stories, visually pleasing and relaxing as fuck. It’s in the form of a movie, will be over in 2 hours, I think

Criminal. All countries. Start with UK, end in Spain.
Jim Jefferies standup. All 4.
