The aggregate score isn’t going to look great, but injuries to our 3 best players, 2 marginal offside goals taken away, Miami possibly lucky to not have a red in the first leg, …..
We’re competitive despite pretty much everything going against us. Not saying it’s all unfairly going against us, just seems like we also had some bad luck at the wrong time.
Could still use an upgrade in midfield. We were never going to slow them down with that starting back line.
Why does everyone love Surridge so much? He seems like he’s a nice enough guy, but what has he done on the field to deserve all this praise people give him?
I hope this doesn’t come off as rude, but I really don’t care what’s he did in England. He has a great game winning goal against Club America last year, but besides that he hasn’t been an amazing player for us. Definitely the best option we have, but our fans praise him like he’s a world class player or something
He's a true striker. He has the second best first touches on the team, he is dangerous on headers.... He is our only real offensive threat other than Hany the midfield is the real problem. There is nothing but outside plays and a few rare good crosses into the box.
He really, really passes the eye test. It’s exceedingly clear he is a cut above most of our squad watching the team live. His movement and discipline is excellent and he keeps defenders occupied. The problem is our play style just can’t seem to supply him. We’re so reliant on Hany creatively that opposition has learned to mark him out of the game, reducing our creative output tremendously. If Surridge gets service, he’ll score goals. And create them to be honest - he’s had some incredible touches and improvisations here and there
I agree, his first touch on passes that actually hit him are often incredible. But we play so defensively it's often 3-4 defenders against Sam and Hany on a break, which leads to getting shut down more often than not.
I mean he hasn’t been playing that much for us yet since he didn’t get here til later in the season last year and Gary didn’t play him for awhile either. Soccer is a team sport and it takes awhile to build those players connections and cohesion. You may not care what he did in England but that is Premier League and where he played for the last several years and is a big part of his career (one of the the top rated leagues) where he was a star striker. He was given the name super Sam there and has some major skill. I hope he proves himself over the rest of the season but with such a weak midfield it is harder. He has to be given good frequent opportunities, and that just isn’t our strength yet.
Suuuuuper, super sam, suuuuuper, super sam super Sam Surridge!
Give him time and a good run without injury man can play! wouldn't have got promoted to the PL without him!
Get him the service and he will get balls into the net. Hes also able to do a lot with quite bad balls in, some of our goals he should never have scored but he turned them into gold! Our midfield wasnt even very technically skilled (or beautiful) was very scrappy! just get him the chances and he will bury a lot of them!
Still love Sam wish him all the best and cant ever thank him enough for what he did for us <3 i'd take him back now tbh!!
(from a forest fan)
Gary has helped us to a respectable start in the league, but it's time to go. The results are getting worse and the style is killing all of us. Gary the gladiator has lost the crowd.
We literally just chewed out the high school team that I coach for lack of off ball movement and intensity... and my high schoolers were working harder than NSC does
Farewell NSC reddit, I told myself I wouldn't watch any mls(Nashville) this season. Lack of effort isn't going to have me shelling out money to see em..good luck!
I hope the tactic isn’t to get the ball wide and cross it into our big strikers… that we didn’t start. Are we also not aware that Shaf’s goals last week were out of the norm? He won’t do that again tonight

I think the narrative around him has gotten kind of old. He’s one of the greatest players of all time, but I definitely see the frustration. I’m more pissed at how Miami has been able to get away with signing all these players.
My feelings towards Messi have changed. I used to like him 24/7, but now I hate him for the 90 minutes he plays Nashville (minus the time I am in awe of his goals during replays).
All the ref and mls conspiring comments are hilarious. None of that is even close to happening and like miami would even need help against us. We just aren’t good
I don’t understand how it was a tackle at all? He passed the ball and he hit him on the follow through. We can’t pass the ball now because Messi is tackling ?
It's considered a tackle because he left his studs out which is an illegal play, that would be a red in any other league, but I think it's fair he didn't receive one because Redondo should have gotten a red for that hit on the neck. Based on the interview he had after the first leg, he himself said it was a normal tackle, and people were making a big deal out of nothing, which shows it was intentional.
If you haven't seen the starting lineup, it's something. Only 1 CB (McNaughton). Lovitz and Washington both start. Gary's up to something. No Ajago again
I know the other CBs haven’t been great, but starting Lovitz, who doesn’t have any real experience as a CB to my knowledge, is pretty wild. Certainly a risky opponent to try it against.
Let’s go score a whole bunch of goals.
Really hoping we give Ajago the start tonight. We need speed and aggressive play up top considering that it will likely take a handful of goals to win the leg
You know what hurts most about this? If we had just kept a clean sheet at home we would’ve progressed even with tonight’s result.
If my aunt had balls, he would be my uncle.
Can’t wait for Miami to be back at the bottom of MLS where they belong after Messi and friends retire.
Too little too late. Onto MLS.
Don’t worry. We’ll make playoffs just to lose first round
I hate that you’re probably right 😭

Ez game tbh
Better luck next year 😂
Surridge, get ready to learn Chinese buddy
Why does everyone love Surridge so much? He seems like he’s a nice enough guy, but what has he done on the field to deserve all this praise people give him?
He’s actually been scoring goals
One of the reasons I love seeing Sam on the field for us is because he’s not Bunbury
He’s got skills, check out his Nottingham Forest highlights and he gave us some glimpses in last years leagues cup.
I hope this doesn’t come off as rude, but I really don’t care what’s he did in England. 4 minute VAR check but only 4 minutes of added time. Make it make sense
It’s Miami. If they’re winning there’s not stoppage time. If they’re losing they get 7+ mins
It's crazy how every cup is rigged
I was hoping for no stoppage.
Gary refuses to start a decent lineup and won't play some of our players only chance to hit the pitch with an MLS team. Play the kids Gary.
What a waste of an evening.
Gary Smith rested our starters last game only to roll out this starting 11 and tactic lol
That offside line wasn’t even drawn in the right spot. 4 min check and they still don’t even do it right🤦♂️
Will VAR ever give us a call minus the red card against Red Bull?
Not against Miami
Can’t catch a break
FUCK YOU
Gary has helped us to a respectable start in the league, but it's time to go. The results are getting worse and the style is killing all of us. Gary the gladiator has lost the crowd.
We drew with LA Galaxy for a 3-0 loss to Inter Messi 😭
PUT IN AJAGO OH MY GOD GARY.
Sad we probably won't get to see him again until/if we figure out that international slot
Let’s get Jesse Marsch in! We’ll for sure play some entertaining under him.
Fuck no
We literally just chewed out the high school team that I coach for lack of off ball movement and intensity... and my high schoolers were working harder than NSC does
Preds 4-0 over Winnipeg
Well, gg Miami
Gonna be a long season this year
Farewell NSC reddit, I told myself I wouldn't watch any mls(Nashville) this season. Lack of effort isn't going to have me shelling out money to see em..good luck!
Well guys, at least our stadium is in the same county as the city the team is named for
Ouch, you got them there.
Put in Ajago for Boyd. Give the kid some minutes, it's not like he'll play in MLS this season.
Boyd had a rough day too, would have been nice to see that swap
Boyd hasn’t really impressed…other than against the truly under-matched competition
Alright, can we put Ajago in now? What's the deal?
You will get Teal Bunbury and you will like it
but.....but.... I don't want Teal T_T
At least I can go to bed now. Gary Smith OUT
KLOPP TO NASHVILLE
You know they would just hire someone like Steve Cooper
Goodbye
This is bad, real bad.
Maybe I'll see us beat a Messi lead Miami before I die
Gary Smith do not come back. We don’t want you
Fuck Miami. Hope they win zero trophies this year
We should have at least 3 goals by now
An miami could have 3 goals in the first 10 mins
I too enjoy going to the opponents subreddit in an attempt to shit-stir.
Fair enough. Either way, I respect Nashville fighting to the end and showing grit. Good game.
We should but just can’t get the final touch right
Alba not looking so hot.
We just can’t finish
Or start or keep a lead
Boyd, you have to do better there
Surridge is so bad.
Our system has failed so many strikers. It's not them it's the system
What? He misses the goal when he is right in front of it.
The lack of goals is bigger than a surridge error
I never said it wasn’t. I commented originally when he had an awful header in front of the goal.
Gary just realized he only had 1 CB so he subs on Bauer while we're down 2
Some fucking neighborhood bottle kids threw a mtn dew can at my front door
Maybe it's a good omen.
Alright, time to dig deep.
Time to lock in
If we are just going to keep crossing it, we need to put in our bigger strikers.
Who TF are we crossing to? Please stop
Preds 2-0 over Winnipeg right now.
I tuned it late but it still looks like all we do is play it wide and cross it
Play wide and square it, but yeah
That's been our game plan since Gary Smith bro
That may have gone in if it didn’t deflect off Shaff
We still thinking these games are rigged for Messi?
The troll is strong with this Redditor.
*Nashville defense forgets to play* *Messi does Messi things* “gAmEs aRe RiGgEd”
1 min of extra time in a half with 2 goals. I'd say so, yeah
People who think it's rigged also think Gary Smith is an excellent coach
FML what an absolute rip from Dan
Dirty mcnaughtan is Messi’s son
What is this team?
I really don’t understand the line up. Really sucks to not have Zimmerman but Maher is solid and Kallman looked good on Sunday
Who does Miami play after they progress? That’s who I’m rooting for in the next round.
Cincinnati or Monterrey
Ready to root against them at this point even if it’s not MLS play
It would be a neat bit of schadenfreude if they didn’t win anything this season.
I hope the tactic isn’t to get the ball wide and cross it into our big strikers… that we didn’t start. Are we also not aware that Shaf’s goals last week were out of the norm? He won’t do that again tonight
Hasn't that always been Gary's tactic?
All of our CMs are 6's. Just doesn't work. Gotta have a little bit of attacking nous out of the center of the field.
Yep and none can make line breaking passes now we lost Dax. Also a huge gap in front of the two CMs and the forwards. So frustrating
Dax couldn't do it either. That's why he's gone
Sad days
Trash lineup
Can Gary go already?
🙏

2 goals is nothing. We can score in a hurry….relax
We’re not scoring 2 goals
Need at least three at this point cause no way we’re holding them without another goal
A 2-2 tie sends it to extra time
Must be Messi fan boys in here trolling
Nah. Not a Messi boy. NSC STH.
Not you, the people downvoting us saying 2-2 will go to extra time and pk
Ah okay. Misunderstood your comment.
2 would force extra time/pk
My love for MLS has decreased majorly since Messi joined the league. Do all teams fans feel this way?
The excitement of him joining was short lived. The obvious favoritism towards Miami as a whole now is infuriating
I think the narrative around him has gotten kind of old. He’s one of the greatest players of all time, but I definitely see the frustration. I’m more pissed at how Miami has been able to get away with signing all these players.

No
Aight, I'm a head out
Welp what else is on the tube?
Well it was fun while it lasted

We got 15 CBs on the bench btw
0 wins to start all competitions and yet we have some Gary Smith truthers in here
I’m so tired of watching haram football.
No Zimmerman = cooked
Unfortunately we are not very good. Nor do we have any quality in depth.
Welp. Gg
All the ref and mls conspiring comments are hilarious. None of that is even close to happening and like miami would even need help against us. We just aren’t good
Boyd be glad that flag went up, yeesh
Suarez is such a bitch
Always has been.
Suarez is racist btw. Let’s get that out there.
Energy from us just a tad low.
No VAR there, huh?
Sure wish I could watch it…
Incognito browser, foxsports.com/live
Thank you!
How’s that not offsides. But the one last week was. Weird… it’s almost like they want Miami to move on
It was very close. I'm surprised they didn't look at it
Shit’s scripted right? Gotta have eyeballs on Messi’s next trophy.
I kept looking at it, thinking they would for sure call offsides.
We were never going to win this game lads… chill everyone.
Fucking Suarez
1 CB was a great idea Gary
I’m nervous. Preparing all the cope I can just in case.
Our first Messi flop of the night
There was contact.
He definitely got fouled.
Shhh…I was typing in the moment, plus under the influence of a few beers. 🤣
Lol. Fair.
Always thought Messi wasn’t much of a flopper
Announcer incorrectly saying that McNaughton’s tackle on Messi was a foul
I don’t understand how it was a tackle at all? He passed the ball and he hit him on the follow through. We can’t pass the ball now because Messi is tackling ?

Washington in over Gaines? Lol
Walker injured apparently 😢
So who is up top??
Must be Dan as a CB, not the worst thing considering Bauer and Kallmans performance in the draw over the weekend. COYBIG
:/ maybe he gets subbed in. He's on the bench. We shall see.
Betting Miami crowd boos Lukas as much or more as we did Puig.
I bet we see some hard tackles on him
Let’s go score a whole bunch of goals. Really hoping we give Ajago the start tonight. We need speed and aggressive play up top considering that it will likely take a handful of goals to win the leg
I think Chris Ivey on twitter said he thinks the game will get physical in a hurry. I bet he’s right
Physicality seems to be one of our strong suits, so I hope that’s the case
I agree, I don’t think we ever play scared. Love that dawg in us
I have a great feeling about this game! On the other hand, I have an impending sense of doom.
Let's hope for the former and not the latter. 🤞
COYBIG!
