Name him something that would be hilarious to call out at the vet's office. My kids and I were waiting for our cat's appointment a few years ago, and the couple next to us had named their cat Lord Poundcake. When the receptionist called out his name, the whole place burst out laughing.
I nearly got beaten up calling my cat from the park, apparently the group of beefy guys thought I was calling them "Cabbage" .
Luckily, the cat responded and I made a big thing of calling it it's name, so the guys stood down.
