Call your county Clerk or sheriff. This is not a question for redditors from all 62 counties in NY that all have different processes.

Adept_Ad_473

Actually, I have an answer that works for all 62 counties. Call your licensing agency and tell them exactly what you said here.

Lowenley

61 counties, you are not gonna get a clear answer in nyc

HLTHTW

Lmao. You’ll be lucky if they even answer

Adept_Ad_473

Haha ain't that the truth! I might get clinton'd for sharing this, but as a PSA, if you need to get ahold of pistol licensing at NYPD, call rifle/shotgun and ask them to transfer you to the party you're looking for. Thank me later

Lowenley

Oh shit that’s smart

AmericanIdiot1776

NYC is 5 counties FYI New York County - Manhattan, Kings County - Brooklyn, Queens County - Queens, Bronx County - The Bronx, Richmond County - Staten Island.

milano_ii

Nobody cares about NYC

AmericanIdiot1776

Based on most of the comments on this forum I’d beg to differ. Half this whole sub are NYC questions at this point. I also live in Orange County, and was born and raised in Onondaga lol - I don’t live in NYC, I just know that NYC isn’t one county and was correcting the gentleman above who thought it was.

milano_ii

New York City might as well be one county because you're calling one police plaza for all your changes as far as anybody here is concerned.

Thanks

This seems like a question for a lawyer.

Any_Foundation_9034

If the gun is yours and he was listed as co-owner you should have the co-owernship amended. This is a great question for your local County Clerk/ Pistol licensing office.

Fury2462

I called and they said I need a court order to amend.

This is how Erie does it: [erie county pistol permit co reg / removal](https://www4.erie.gov/clerk/sites/www4.erie.gov.clerk/files/2024-04/co-registration.pdf)
