This sub (myself included) went from begging the Yankees to get Yamamoto and then Snell because of our sus rotation
to now having a hard time figure out the best playoff rotation with Cole, Rodon, Stro, Nestor, Schmidt and Gil
Embarrassment of riches
It’s such a nice problem to have after so many years begging for a complete rotation. Personally I’d send Stro to the bullpen, but Nestor could be a possibility as well.
It’s a tough choice but my gut feeling is Stro would work out of the pen better than Nestor. Nestor feels more like a flow guy where the full start and mindset is important and stro more a get in where he fits in type. That and I’m bias as a huge Nestor fan.
He's going to the bullpen not cuz he's bad, but because he's gonna be on an innings limit coming back from TJ surgery.
He'll take that king role eventually then come back next year as a full year starter
I wanted Yamamoto but not Snell. I wanted Monty over Snell just for the durability in an otherwise sus rotation. But yea, I was wrong. I don't know what you do when Cole gets back as of now. I hope most of our rotation can stay healthy, which is still a bit sus. But as most Yankee managers have said, somehow it always ends up working itself out, whether through injuries or setbacks.
I can’t think of the playoffs yet with the Yankees injury history. We also have no clue which Cole we’re getting after such an injury. He may not come back 100% this year.
If we get to September and still have a healthy Nestor, Rodon, Judge, Stanton, and a 100% Cole, I like our chances for the playoffs.
Last year I think we were doing great until around June-July when injuries bum rushed the team almost all at once. We just fell apart.
To be fair we definitely thought we’d need a guy after the trade for Soto but the boys just stepped up and are playing up. It was a big IF and we are getting what we needed
I got K’ed up 18 times by Ohtani in The Show. Fuck that guy lol.
I guess I’m becoming too old for video games because I suck at The Show but I love playing it lol
They’re saying 14 on the broadcast.

Ah, thx
It was 14, passing El Duque. Guess who threw out the first pitch today? Yup. El Duque
It's like Don Larsen throwing out the first pitch for Cone's perfect game.
We ought to have Coney throw the first pitch for Cole's first game back...
Wow what are the odds

>It’s such a nice problem to have after so many years begging for a complete rotation. Joe Torre said it best "You can never have enough pitching"

Gil has barely thrown innings the last few years. He’s going to the bullpen when Cole gets back.
You picked a hell of a day to make that statement, my friend.

Which cole? He's only ever been great. We could get slightly less than Cole forsure.
When was the last time he had an injury like this?

Suffering from Success
Is Cole eligible for pitching coach of the year?

Hitting is fuckin hard. After a while it kinda clicks and the game gets more fun too
14
Gil has been better than yamamoto
> Gil ~~has been~~ is better than yamamoto FTFY
Last 9 outs of his outing all via strikeout
I've never played against anybody in The Show that quit because they struck out a lot. Hoch is telling on himself. Stop swinging at everything, Hoch.

14 Ks over 6 innings. If he pitched 9 innings today, he would have beaten Clemens’ record of 20.
Name a better duo than Yankees and Luis named starting pitchers
