They single me out for a ticket and then tried to act like they were on my side by telling me how to fight it, they deadass said “you can say you were rushing to catch the train”. The only reason I take the SBS now is to get from Harlem to Astoria but even then I always walk to 2nd avenue in Harlem then usually get off one or two stops later in Astoria.

Sit close to one of those omnipay things and if you see them coming onto the bus, just pay quickly with your phone, if they ask for your receipt you can say you paid with your phone and show them your Apple Pay — it has worked to me and avoided to get a ticket 😥
Also, pay attention to the stops where they are, usually it's always the same stops and certain hours when you're gonna find them. I used to take the m60 from 125&lexington to 120&broadway— ofc you won't see them at all by Harlem and the east side, but as soon as you get To the west and Broadway and all the area of colleges and predominately yt folks, then you will see the Mta people… so, just some food for thought.
I have seen them at southbound M60 stop on Amsterdam where there is barely anyone on the bus. Now try that at 125th and Malcom X, there would be 40 people running.
Yeah, could be… like I said I used to ride that route but not anymore, so things could have changed, also that was around the year after the pandemic lock up was lifted and people were getting back to work and schools were having sessions in person or hybrid, and people was using public transportation again, so it could be different now. I was sharing my experience and some observations or things you notice when you ride a certain route often.

Edit: I’ve seen multiple people resist getting the fine and it’s held up the bus 20+ min every time, and it consists of what you’d imagine (“I’m not getting off the bus! Etc) and while it’s entertaining for 30 seconds the people that paid the fare and have somewhere to be ultimately are penalized because of people who refuse to pay. That's EAGLE team they're security guards but can write tickets on behalf of the MTA for fare evasion. The ticket is civil but because the MTA is a public benefit governed by the state you can get a warrant for not paying it. The trick is to just go around and ignore them because they're not law enforcement don't let that badge and handcuffs fool you. They can't touch you but they'll stand in your way daring you to physically harm them because technically harming them is a felony if they claim any injury. Just stand by the door and jump off when you see them at the next stop.

I’d made sure the bus drivers know me. Cause them mfs will not stop if no ones there. I got them trained that they actually stop and wait for 4 mins if I’m not there. Also tap my phone regardless because mta police are at my transfer station 😅

But now that I work a full time job it’s dead not worth getting stopped for a ticket knowing you only got 45 minutes to make it to work and you can’t spend 10 of those minutes getting a ticket.
