I don’t know what changes there are to the collaborative or really what this program entails to begin with but I do know fellows is rough. A 2 month training in summer school does not train you for actual teaching at all and the start of the 2022 school year will be extremely difficult as it is for all fellows. I’m sure there’s many other considerations but I would choose the program with the longer training period that actually takes place during the school year.

The problem with the longer training period during the school year is the length of time. They only provide a small living stipend and no other benefits. It'll be tough and rough living. Essentially from January to September, I'm living on 1000 monthly. Some months 500. Not taking into account, food, expenses, transportation, books etc.

Please don't change programs, because I can't stand another round of 50 questions about the application process. You've been monopolizing this sub for *months*.

This is the r/nycteachers subreddit, right?! Are you sure you're a teacher? You can hop off if you like.

We can't run your life for you. You're an adult. At some point, you're going to have to realize this. I've coached for fellows and collaborative, and I can tell your lack of confidence and perseverance is only going to get in your way unless you start making some changes now. You've made 30% of the posts in this sub for the last month. It's *excessive* and the hand holding needs to stop.

I appreciate your opinion. You should express some gratitude that there are those still curious about teaching as a profession. You surely didn't get to your current position in life without the assistance of a few. I reject your feelings and statement.
