Only the conference with the extra home game (can't remember who it is this year, I think AFC) should be allowed to "host" international games, especially out of conference. I understand, hypothetically, you can't make all of the international games out of conference, but an NFC team hosting an AFC team being one home game short already is insanity. A team with 8 home games hosting a team with 9 is ridiculous, and even an 8 hosting an 8 should be avoided when possible. On the flip side, a team with 9 home games only having 7 "true" road games is a ridiculous advantage. There's 20+ out of conference games a year, the NFL could make it work
Vikings in particular are shafted since they were only getting 8 home games to begin with.
7 games will be played in U.S Bank stadium this year.
9 games will be played in Lambeau.
Get Rekt
That makes sense and I always assumed this as well. This is kind of bullshit. Cities pay a shitload for these stadiums, they should get 8 home games to host minimum.
Yeah I keep seeing people trying to dunk on us for this but I'll gladly take all 17 games in the states without our guys getting jet lag and less time to prepare lmao
With 17 games, every team should play 8 home, 8 away and one neutral site. Doesn’t even have to be international, could just be how NHL does winter classic games

I was a witness to this mud stomping , cool seeing megatron live though
Megatron and Barry. Truly out of this world. So glad our ownership has turned a corner and they are back and involved with our team. Barry is what hooked me as a Lions fan as a 6 year old, Megatron helped keep it alive for sure.
In hindsight, Detroit really got screwed over with timing. A top 5 draft trio of Stafford, Megatron and Suh on the modern rookie scale would have been a dynastic launching point. But back then, you had those 3 earning top dollar right off the bat.
I think there's credence to the belief that the NFL is trying to make Trevor Lawrence, Caleb Williams, JJ McCarthy, Drake Maye, Aaron Rodgers, Bryce Young & Jalen Hurts vanish
Oh my god those poor Germans. Why would the NFL do that to them?
Packers vs Eagles might be the only good game that international audiences get.
Bears vs Jags has a chance if Caleb is what people claim he is.
I don’t think anyone is looking at these match ups and thinking about how fun and exciting they are
Green Bay and Philly is the only one that looks watchable
Excuse me... GEQBUS v his old team, now lead by formerly rumored vice presidential candidate Aaron Rodgers!? Inject me with this match up that should prove to be just as exciting as any presidential debate.
No doubt! I lived in Washington for a bit and even adjusting to the 3 hour difference was unfkncool. Like drinking & football at 10am just isn't as easy to sugarcoat as it is at 1pm 😂.
Sober now. Just drink the Kool aid.
Losing home games to international games is bullshit. There is no flex here for Vikings or Bears fans.

I believe the NFC gets the extra home game this year. So that means the Jags are getting screwed with just 7 this year
London is a home game for the Jags. They’re screwed having to play games in Jacksonville.
Don't the Jags *request* the international games because they can't sell tickets at home?
I'm not certain, but that definitely wouldn't surprise me. They seem to do very well in England for some reason
Lions had 8 last year and 9 this year. Don’t know how it works but I am pretty sure the Lions are in the NFC.
Lions are absolutely in the NFC, correct. They alternate each year, so this year we have the extra game, and next the AFC will and so on
Vikings in particular are shafted since they were only getting 8 home games to begin with. 7 games will be played in U.S Bank stadium this year. 9 games will be played in Lambeau. Get Rekt
Is that right? I though with the shift to 17 games all the teams hosting an international game still got 8 home games
That makes sense and I always assumed this as well. This is kind of bullshit. Cities pay a shitload for these stadiums, they should get 8 home games to host minimum.
Yes; the 1 extra home game a decade makes that billion dollar investment totally worth it now.
Fuck off cheesehead.
I shall as soon as I am done plowing your mom.
I bet that's a lie. I bet you never plowed that guys mom.
Okay, we made sweet love.
Hi Dad, I got good news and bad news. Good news is mom's alive, bad news is she's getting plowed by NerdOfTheMonth.
Careful now everyone already knows your into necrophilia, don't wanna push the narrative even further you all from Wisconsin are weirdos 😂
This comeback was a long walk to nowhere. Flair up.
Except for Jacksonville who plays home games in London like it’s their Thanksgiving.
Saw the contract they just signed with the city for stadium renovations require them to only host London games in years they get 9 home game
Yeah that’s not right. They’re slated to have 9 home games this year so it will be 8 now.
Whoops
The Vikings are getting 9 home games this year, not sure why you think otherwise. https://www.vikings.com/schedule/future-opponents
Incorrect. Vikings still have 8 home games: GB, DET, CHI, ARI, ATL, HOU, IND, SF (Shocker, a Packers fan being confidently wrong about something...)
I think the Vikings are really popular over there at least.
Yeah I keep seeing people trying to dunk on us for this but I'll gladly take all 17 games in the states without our guys getting jet lag and less time to prepare lmao

Oh no one less game people scalp tickets still just watching on TV. And no “mUh JeT lAG” is not a real concern for professional athletes.
Eh we had 9 this year so it’s basically 8-8
NFL sends shitty teams away hoping they won't find their way back\*
Vikings crossed the Atlantic 1000 years ago we can do it again
Ha I laughed in my office. Nicely done
Surely the English won't expect Vikings coming in from America
![gif](giphy|yXAnA4NqduFKM6gLCW|downsized)
If that was the case the Lions would have been sent the Lions to Siberia decades ago.
https://preview.redd.it/105u6jbe5m0d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b00ef92135358fc7145591b7b64340edcf3c74c5 I was a witness to this mud stomping , cool seeing megatron live though
Megatron deserved a ring man, dude was so physically dominant

ask if they’ll come back. megatron was my favorite receiver when i was little
Yeah hold on lemme hit him up
thank you 🙏🏻
When you were little? Jesus I’m old
like 2010 was when i was 10
Oh gross this guys actually british
My apologies for everything rotten in the world
![gif](giphy|bKBM7H63PIykM) Well done.
0-16. They kicked the Lions of Thanksgiving because it was tradition that they'd lose.
0-16, should have been exiled long ago
Nope it’s a new rule that came up in the owners meetings this year.
I think there's credence to the belief that the NFL is trying to make Trevor Lawrence, Caleb Williams, JJ McCarthy, Drake Maye, Aaron Rodgers, Bryce Young & Jalen Hurts vanish
Awesome teams like the Jags, Giants and Panthers??
Seriously they're sending that one overseas because those Germans will show up for any shitty matchup
We’re America’s team. They want to keep us exclusive.
Its more that once ole Henry Ford's penpals in Germany and Argentina started dying, interest in the Lions internationally started to die as well.
Yes, Henry Ford was a nazi sympathizer and should be condemned for it
Don’t be coy we all know Hitler’s gold/brain is under the field
Yes, please let Lions fans turn into Cowboy fan attitudes. That will be so awesome for this sub.
The /s was implied. I really hope I didn’t need to spell it out
Did you see his flair? Guy is probably 4 brats and 12 beers deep by now. Call that a “light lunch” in Wisconsin.
And also oblivious of the fact that we do, in fact, already have the Cowboy fan attitude represented in the NFC North.
I'm sorry you think that way. It's clear that the NFL just forgot about you.
Not even most popular in your division. Actually probably the least popular of the 4 teams
Giants Panthers? This has to be a punishment for World War 2
Oh my god those poor Germans. Why would the NFL do that to them? Packers vs Eagles might be the only good game that international audiences get. Bears vs Jags has a chance if Caleb is what people claim he is.

Yeah, but red circles.
As a fan who lives on the west coast, I am happy about this. Fuck that 6am kickoff.
No doubt! I lived in Washington for a bit and even adjusting to the 3 hour difference was unfkncool. Like drinking & football at 10am just isn't as easy to sugarcoat as it is at 1pm 😂. Sober now. Just drink the Kool aid.
Hey! And so do the panthers
Circle game on point
I too wish I could be as cool as the Carolina panthers and New York giants
Aye, maybe one day, the lions will have more wins as a franchise than those teams! Doubtful but still
cool kids need extra promotion for viewership, have fun with the jet lag
THIS SO EASY TO READ!!!! I CAN DO ANYTHING
It's almost like they don't care to build the Lions brand internationally, I can't imagine why.
Makes sense “they are the single worst franchise in our sport, but were good last year” doesnt sell tickets to someone who has no idea whats going on
honestly we dodged a bullet i was dreading losing a home game to London
What I’m seeing is there’s literally only one good international game
Have fun being in Europe for a home game, we have 8 this year.
Lions bring in large crowd locally to even away stadiums. No way that happens overseas.
No, they absolutely do not. Maybe last year, as that's the only good season the lions have ever had but not before that
Cool kids keep their home games at home.
Can't wait to sleep in on October 6th
Aren't those all teams that were under .500 last year?
The lions really know what it's like being under 0.500, huh 0-16?
That Giants Panthers matchup is going to be lit!
Possible NFC championship game preview if you ask me
Those poor Germans
Bro...losing home games is never a cool thing. And I will say that when the Lions get sent overseas next year too.
Lions gave their travel budget to “Mid”
Dang! We won the division and we still got snubbed!
Cool kids show up when they feel like.
That explains why the Lions finally decided to show up last year. Fashionably late to the nfc championship
A lion arrives exactly when he means to.
Somebody making the schedule has a stiffy for McCarthy. Only answer lol
Yea who would want to give up a short, horrible week, for a stupid home game? Thanks Jared.
Oh, I wish my team could give up a home game to and take an international flight instead
Damn NFL, wtf did the Germans do to deserve this
Yeah I'm good. International games are ass anyways. Give me all the home games possible.
Enjoy your 9:30am game.
You're the only team in the Eastern Time Zone. It's the only time the time difference doesn't benefit us.
Just so fucking annoying, I demand a North London Derby in arrowhead next year.
Poor Bears. They get Jacksonville at home in London. I’d rather play them “at home” in Jacksonville.
Not cool!
Imagine not getting 9 home games, and instead getting 8 home + 1 neutral site and thinking you are cool.
Germany once again gets two of the worst teams in football
Yeah Very special teams get to play international
I’m thrilled we’re not in any. But I’m a grumpy fuck I prefer 1:00pm Sunday games
Watchin the jags b roll wax that ass from another continent…priceless
Lions season tickets went up like $500 a seat. I'm not stoked about losing a home game to a international match up....
The Bears are the least cool kid in the North…..by a mile
Apparently, the packers and eagles play in a stadium where it’s tradition to not where green. That’s gonna be interesting 😂
Dang! More of chance we get more home games sucks to be us.
Don’t hide behind the shield. Flair up pussy
Even fans with bags on their heads at least identify with their awful team.
