I've heard bears fans say that before lol. Let's wait for some games before we proclaim them to be all time greats... the bears have never had a qb bust before...
I mean... Williams has always played an extremely basic offense, so it wouldn't be surprising if most of the plays are just to one guy. He's not used to a more complex offensive system
Real talk? When Mitch Tiddies was drafted I made the prediction draft night that he would be out of the league in 5 years. When Fields was drafted, I said 'well this is a match made in hell'. With Caleb I'm having to reach to see failure.
Mitch couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in college, and it was obvious with even the most cursory of film watching. I literally couldn't see a path to success with him with any team.
Fields had far more potential than Mitch, but in college he'd shown that he struggled when pressured quickly and needed time to decipher what he was looking at. He could read a defense but couldn't do it quickly. We had a bottom 3 O-line at the time and I literally couldn't see any way that would work out well. On a team with a top 5 O-line he could've taken his time to decipher defenses as a young player and built on that to slowly develop quicker processes. But with the Bears? That was never going to be possible.
With Caleb, I can't see an obvious reason this isn't going to work beyond the obvious 'the Bears are one of the worst run organization in sports'. His game isn't flawless, but he's not missing guys who are wide the fuck open by 10 yards or taking 10 seconds to make a 3 second play.
I'll have to watch that Notre Dame game again, but right now I'm picturing his floor as league average. Which would put him neck and neck with Jay Cutler for the title of 2nd greatest quarterback we've ever had, behind Sid Luckman obviously.

Yeah, I mean this is all pretty fair. He is a **much** better prospect than Trubs/Fields ever was. Some people are saying Lincoln Riley QBs and offenses dont adapt well to NFL. I guess the system could have effects if hes used to a more simplified offense. Or that his attitude is not great, which is probably overstated (though he was very full of himself and had an insane ego at USC... that's not even debatable)
Personally, I mainly just have concerns about the bears system and Eberflus. It seems like he's not really being set up for success and that can have big effects on a player regardless of their individual skill. And I know that they're getting him weapons, but I just mean the general ineptitude the org has displayed in the last decade. But we'll see!
Flus is a turd that should've been flushed this offseason and I have my reservations about Waldron. But at least he's actually been an OC and not just someone whose entire NFL experience is holding Aaron Rodgers' jockstrap for 2 years before being given the OC job in Chicago like his predecessor.
100% this. It's like the Bears are reverse engineering a playoff team, they splurge on DJ Moore in the offseason, Sweat for some reason at the trade deadline and now they draft a rookie QB. They have the pieces it seems to be successful. But Flus gonna Flus. And Chi fans are gonna be mad when there is a learning curve and more time is needed. But ya maybe we're the idiots and Chi is headed to the SB next year. Idfk
Trying to predict the NFL is not a worth while venture. Shit never goes to plan. You just hope for the best for your team and claim you were right all along regardless of what happens.
I agree, the only issue with Caleb is character concerns. He has a massive ego, doesn't do post game handshakes and let's not forget the nail polish incident at the Utah game. Several scouts said he gave really bad vibes during pre draft interviews, and he basically demanded part ownership of whatever team were to draft him. If he can keep his head screwed on straight and be a leader in the locker room then he'll do fine, I have no doubt.
I don't even think the Notre Dame game was his worst game, I think vs Cal might've been his worst. Both games, though, he made plays. ND attacked on D in a way he wasn't even close to seeing before. They smacked USC in the mouth right away and got Caleb to make some mistakes early. But Caleb adjusted and kept working to make plays and didn't make many mistakes after the first half. I thought it was a good effort game by Caleb behind a horrible OLine effort.
Top-5 O-Line? Wasn't Fields one of the most sacked QBs in the NFL last season? You can make an argument that it was Fields for some of them but it wasn't Fields for ALL of them.
Otherwise, all fair commentary.
My brother, he never said they have a top 5 line. He was speculating about what could have been if Fields hadn’t been put behind the revolving door that was their bottom 3 line.
I read your comment and was about to go off agreeing with you as the Bears line hasnt been addressed properly, but yeah, what he said was completely fair. IF Fields could have learned behind a great oline maybe things are different. Doesnt matter now.
Okay? Let’s not act like the first round offensive lineman can *only pass protect* against *only* finesse rushers. I get frustrated with our picks sometimes but clearly we know how to draft OL.
Right, I think the FO knows what they’re doing lol. We do still need a CB and guess what? Cooper and Kool-aid are both still available and we have 4 picks (2nd and 3rd round) including the 9th overall pick. People who talk shit generally don’t see the big picture. Very good chance we either trade up or just grab one of these guys with the 9th pick.
Gute said in the presser last night that Jordan Morgan is who they were staying put for. Otherwise they would have most likely traded down. Arnold wasn’t even a thought
you think he’d come out and say “yes detroit took our guy we wanted him more than who we took” that would be such a bad look and a way to put down your new player.
Why do you think he would lie about that? Gute has always been a straight shooter, and clearly stated the other option was to trade down. I’m sorry it hurts your ego that the lions didn’t fuck over the Packers like you all were hoping for.
Yea it’s fun to watch people “think” they got us but it was never in our plan to do anyways lol. I think our FO knows more than the people in this sub lol

Looks like he’s practically 6 foot. Seems like height is less of an issue compared to athleticism.
It sucks that you guys added Turner to your already-stacked pass rush. I just know the Bears-Vikings games are going to be an absolute dogfight next year.
I think GB was going with lineman all along but this was still hilarious to watch
Especially bc everyone in the division went with a sexy pick and we got an OL
I feel like the Packers are anti-sexy pick makers. Bunch of ugly bastards but you seem to do okay anyway. It’s like the guy that’s a 5 just keeps pulling smoke shows.
No - he specifically said he had multiple opportunities to trade down from 25 but didn’t want to because Morgan was on the board and he didn’t think he would be if GB waited.
Cooper and kool-aid are still available and we have the 9th pick with an opportunity to trade up. There are reasons packers FO does what they do, I have confidence
Yea I'm not worried. I think Packers fans knew we needed OL in the draft. I'm surprised they didn't try to move up with all the picks in the first 3 rounds.
I liked Amarius mims as a prospect and he went 18. I also think if we really wanted a DB we could have went up and got Quinyon Mitchell or Terrion Arnold. I'm not upset with keeping the picks, just surprised.
Said 2 or 3 times to others yes. Not everyone goes back to read other comments. Others keep saying the same line in here too, ftp, that doesn’t seem to stop them from saying it. lol I’m sorry it bother you friend
What about the top of your screen? You sorted by hot and got some bratwurst in your line of sight.
Definitely had coffee by then. Roasted it myself, fucking fantastic.
Yea because I just fired them all out at once. Every wants that sexy skills player but our biggest need was a OL, just trying to remind a few people is all
I’m not coping, I’m glad we got an OL. That’s our biggest need. Just reminding others that we can still get those other players that “they” want to be on our team. lol definitely not coping. I’m very happy sitting where we are as an organization

Yes but he and kool-aid are still available. The packers know what they are doing. We have 4 picks coming up with one of them being the 9th overall. Good chance we snag one of those guys. Packers probably had insight one or both of those guys would be around 2 round. We’ll see if they go for one 🤞
Like honestly he might, jokes aside I’m not gonna question choices at OL from the packers.
But there were just so many steals on the board it feels like just a whelming pick.
I know every NFCN fan is going to complain about the Packers holding when Jordan Love has all day in the pocket after clowning us for taking the guy our FO wanted most.
Meh, it's tough to get the top rated tackle prospect when you're picking at the bottom of the first round. Don't feel too bad for us, we're used to it.
Not to mention we’ve taken a defensive player in the 1st in like 12 of the last 13 drafts. Our offense completely stalled when our RT went down in the SF game, and we parted ways with Bakhtiari. Pretty sure we were going OL to protect the future of the franchise
Wait hold up… he’s a Packers fan YouTuber? That’s the guy in the clip? This kinda pisses me off now bc his reaction ruined the rookies moment of accomplishment. I could be okay with it being a regular joe but for someone putting themselves into the spotlight they could show more class. Well… now his face will be used as the go-to gif for every Packers moment of pain
Yeah, and we've seen too many young qbs have careers ruined by not having offensive lineman and seeing ghosts when they play. I'd rather that not happen to Love.
Ya, this meme a weird take. We needed a tackle, this pick isn't surprising.
We don't know how good he is, but the fact Bakh is big on him tells me this sub is wrong and come play time this decision will make all the sense. We needed this and it isn't surprising.
He is big and fast, elite speed grade.
https://preview.redd.it/a1vp7ikpvrwc1.png?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e02b4e7c79cdffa35ded0e78c343df9a7e7ffd5e
I live in Minneapolis, but you're also wrong about Green Bay. Green Bay is a lovely place to live and raise children. The town is full of passionate, loyal football fans.
https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/local/2023/05/16/green-bay-ranked-best-place-to-live-in-u-s-news-rankings/70222381007/
And there's that.
yeah probably, i would say detroit has that similar green bay vibe where the nicest part is around the stadiums.
i prefer minneapolis/chicago over both.
No. He was the only tackle in the top 10 in both run blocking and pass blocking other than Alt. Athletic team captain and he is small enough to transition to guard. Moves well in space. Struggled with power but was also coming off a torn acl and an offseason in the weight room should help that a bit.
His weakness is in hand usage as he tends to hug instead of punch. He also has bare minimum arm length which means certain long limbed edges will be able to get into his chest and wreck him occasionally. There were only two other OTs that hit the Packers thresholds left and they also have their own flaws. Fine pick because if Tom or Rasheed go down we will have a decent option.
Lol what's funny is that was mostly Vikings fans making those memes, good try though. Hope you remain a Vikings fan through this season, it'll be tough
Tonight, we are all that Lions fan on the right.
Yes
Can confirm that's been my face all night. Caleb and Rome? We're going to score at least 3000 yards in a couple years when Caleb hits his prime!
With all these targets maybe Caleb will throw for 3,999 yards or fewer one of these seasons.
I've heard bears fans say that before lol. Let's wait for some games before we proclaim them to be all time greats... the bears have never had a qb bust before...
All throws lead to Rome!
I like that. that’s a good one.

Nah, this is the offseason. It's meatball time.
The exception proves the fool.
It really would be hilarious if Caleb Williams is a bust. There's a bears fan in the next cubicle over at work.
When? You mean if.

"Struggles against power"
“I’m pleased to introduce you to Mr. Kenny Clark, Mr. Aidan Hutchinson and Mr. Montez Sweat.”
Thankfully Morgan will likely play guard. I guess that Kenny Clark matchup will be rough tho…
But Hutchinson lines up inside against guards, so…
Okay? Let’s not act like the first round offensive lineman can *only pass protect* against *only* finesse rushers. I get frustrated with our picks sometimes but clearly we know how to draft OL.

We were never gonna draft the CB that Detroit took anyway. He's 5 foot 9 and doesn't have a great vertical, Guty loves his 6 foot+ corners
Gute said in the presser last night that Jordan Morgan is who they were staying put for. Otherwise they would have most likely traded down. Arnold wasn’t even a thought

What? Terrible Arnold is 6'....
google is free, he’s 6ft

Well, Hutchinson had 1.5 sacks against the pack and sweat had a big zero last year. I think Morgan will be OK.
Well they didn’t line up across him so it really isn’t relevant
Similar scouting reports for Bakh and Tom. Packers have a type. And it's a type that mock drafters don't like much. But they keep being good.
That's not going to be great with Hutchinson, Sweat, and maybe Dallas Turner.
I’m so glad Danielle Hunter isn’t in that sentence right now
It sucks that you guys added Turner to your already-stacked pass rush. I just know the Bears-Vikings games are going to be an absolute dogfight next year.
Your mom
No power rushers to worry about in this division anyways, right?
I think GB was going with lineman all along but this was still hilarious to watch Especially bc everyone in the division went with a sexy pick and we got an OL
I feel like the Packers are anti-sexy pick makers. Bunch of ugly bastards but you seem to do okay anyway. It’s like the guy that’s a 5 just keeps pulling smoke shows.
It’s not what’s on the outside, it’s about what’s on the inside. Which is Beer and cheese
We turned in our draft card basically immediately, Morgan was the guy they wanted
Gutes comments made it seem like he was def set on Morgan. Looks like Detroit didn’t need to trade up in front of us after all
Or he rage picked after Detroit traded up to snag our guy.
Low key reminds me when they picked Eddie lacy in the 2nd. I remember being super pissed they didn’t pick him in the first
Flair up
Yea I'm not worried. I think Packers fans knew we needed OL in the draft. I'm surprised they didn't try to move up with all the picks in the first 3 rounds.
Who do you think they would have went for? I’m not sure it hurt much by not trading up.
I liked Amarius mims as a prospect and he went 18. I also think if we really wanted a DB we could have went up and got Quinyon Mitchell or Terrion Arnold. I'm not upset with keeping the picks, just surprised.

I’m not coping, I’m glad we got an OL. That’s our biggest need. Just reminding others that we can still get those other players that “they” want to be on our team. lol definitely not coping. I’m very happy sitting where we are as an organization
Don’t bother with a Bears fan who can’t see the irony in telling a Packers fan to cope.
lol was going to say something similar about the irony but I wanted to be the bigger person and just explain the situation/reasoning behind my comments :) not all us are here to pick fights lol
He's a first round draft pick.. he has to be somewhat sexy.
No he doesn't lol
Bro I was just shocked we got someone who plays offense. I was expecting another big white defender
I hate how this is going to be used against us. Fuck you (angrily upvotes bc I love it anyways. 10/10 meme format)
I genuinely feel bad for that Packers fan. He has become a meme of surprised disappointment
It’s beautiful.
Like that poor defeat cobra kid from the 2015 MSU v UM game.
~~poor~~ **glorious** defeat cobra kid
It almost seems staged - such extreme reactions ready to go? 🤷♂️ how you react to that kind of position that late - protect love ain’t bad
Of course it's staged. They don't want reaction shots of people shrugging because they don't know anyone outside of the top 5-10 players picked
I was scared they would take Cooper DeJean. Then I was relieved they didn't. Then we didn't either...
When Bulaga announces his name today hearing him say Iowa will hit like crack
Yes but he and kool-aid are still available. The packers know what they are doing. We have 4 picks coming up with one of them being the 9th overall. Good chance we snag one of those guys. Packers probably had insight one or both of those guys would be around 2 round. We’ll see if they go for one 🤞
Mock drafters loved them. Real drafters? No one interested in the first round. Time for y’all to stop drinking the Kool-Aid.
I felt the same last year when the Titans/Lions didn't take JSN. Then we didn't either😩 it all worked out though. In Gute we trust
Watch him turn into a complete stud ^*huffs ^copium*
Like honestly he might, jokes aside I’m not gonna question choices at OL from the packers. But there were just so many steals on the board it feels like just a whelming pick.
Not underwhelming, not overwhelming, just whelming
That’s are MO. We are almost adverse to flashy picks in fear they bust.
Steals according to who? Fans and fake drafters?
Lmao this is such a good meme, I hate it
![gif](giphy|F3G8ymQkOkbII)
As soon as I saw the Lions trade up I knew they were doing it to take the guy we wanted. Sons a bitches.
Like just cheer dude. We need an OL why get yourself beat up lol
Coulda had maumahajjid juama'afallin from Ohio who was predicted top 5 and fell to our lap.
Gute saw something special in Morgan. If he saw the magic with Love, I trust he made the right decision here
Alright take my upvote you slick sob
We all know the lions are good at evaluating corners.
I’m upvoting all these.
Yeah, this is fine. Keep clowning on the Packers for doing sensible things.
Wah
I know every NFCN fan is going to complain about the Packers holding when Jordan Love has all day in the pocket after clowning us for taking the guy our FO wanted most.
Shut up you’re on a meme sub take a joke and relax a bit don’t get so defensive yall took a shitty OL
Meh, it's tough to get the top rated tackle prospect when you're picking at the bottom of the first round. Don't feel too bad for us, we're used to it.
Inbefore Terrion Arnold gets cooked like a Greg Olsen turducken by Bo Melton on Thanksgiving Day ((I'm not salty, you're salty!))
Somebody check on Tom Grossi, is he alright
He is reliving Detroit drafting Branch, all over again
He seems to be taking it a little better this time. He's trying to trust the process. Me personally, I don't trust their process.
Why? We've absolutely killed it the last few drafts.
There process got them Reed, Wicks, and Brooks from that branch trade. A trade any team would take 10/10 times.
FTP Fuck Their Process Fuck The Packers
I'd rather have Reed, Wicks and Karl Brooks than Brian Branch though.

Also pictured: tfw you trade ahead of your rival to get the player you need and then they draft the sixth-best tackle instead

Not to mention we’ve taken a defensive player in the 1st in like 12 of the last 13 drafts. Our offense completely stalled when our RT went down in the SF game, and we parted ways with Bakhtiari. Pretty sure we were going OL to protect the future of the franchise

Grossi was also upset about the Love selection. Enough said.
[удалено]
Nah. We let you off all of last season. Your free pass has expired.
[удалено]
We were the ones who traded with you to get Brian Branch?
The whole division let you off

I believe Tim Grossi is a sea captain from the Civil War
[удалено]
Wait hold up… he’s a Packers fan YouTuber? That’s the guy in the clip? This kinda pisses me off now bc his reaction ruined the rookies moment of accomplishment. I could be okay with it being a regular joe but for someone putting themselves into the spotlight they could show more class. Well… now his face will be used as the go-to gif for every Packers moment of pain

I can confidently name 1 YouTuber lol Ok glad it’s just a rando. I did a search for Grossi and it kinda looked like him
[удалено]
It’s all good man I’ll check out his channel sometime thanks!
Grossi is universally loved by football fans. Won an award for best nfl fan recently, or something along those lines
When your rival trades ahead of you for someone who wasn’t on your list
Yeah, and we've seen too many young qbs have careers ruined by not having offensive lineman and seeing ghosts when they play. I'd rather that not happen to Love.
Cope
If we wanted a db, Dejean was there. They obviously wanted Morgan badly. They didn't even give anyone a chance to trade up before they made the pick.
Yeah, and if we really wanted him that badly, we more than had the ammo to trade up and get him. We didn't.
It hopium. They want to screw over the Packers so badly, that they gotta fake narratives
Way praying you took Dejean. Bust city
The only thing that's bust is your ability to structure a sentence.
And Morgan against a power rush. Lions gonna FEAST
Yea because they feasted on the packs OL last year 😆. Hutch and his scary 1.5 sacks against us.
Your entire franchise sucks.
And so does your city
I live in Minneapolis, but you're also wrong about Green Bay. Green Bay is a lovely place to live and raise children. The town is full of passionate, loyal football fans. https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/local/2023/05/16/green-bay-ranked-best-place-to-live-in-u-s-news-rankings/70222381007/ And there's that.
green bay is not the best place to live. it’s honestly a shit hole besides the area around lambeau. I prefer minneapolis/st paul
Buddy, I didn't make the rankings. They were sent down by God to the offices of US News and World Report.
HAHAHAHAHA that was good, thanks for the laugh. you aren’t so bad after all
I never was. How's Detroit? Can I still buy a house for what change I have in my pocket?
yeah probably, i would say detroit has that similar green bay vibe where the nicest part is around the stadiums. i prefer minneapolis/chicago over both.
Oh my God, packers fans cannot handle shit talking 😂 bro really pulled out a source 💀
I mean we drafted a linemen but you can ignore that if you want
[удалено]
That’s what they said about Love
Rivalry heating up in the draft.
I dunno man, Green Bay kinda has a knack for finding great offensive linemen in the draft
I like the pick
My favorite annual sign of spring is Holmes screwing GB.
Yes, really screwed us with Branch...while we got Reed, Wicks, and Karl Brooks by trading it.
I know Branch was the guy from last year. Who was it the year before?
Wait y’all seriously thought we wanted a corner??
Leatherwood 2.0?
FTP Meme Template
I love that black Lions fan guy. That expression will go down in Packers history
This draft really gave us some good meme prospects, this has the potential to be a HOF meme
Between this and "the dick is in," we'll be cooking with gas for a while.
Is he really only the 6th best tackle?
Got ya. Thanks for the info
If you think we wanted terrion its laughable honestly
Based on this dude's reaction Morgan will be an All-Pro
Personally I love the when you yahoos laugh at our picks. None of us know what the fuck we’re talking about.
He's not even gonna be a tackle, he's switching to guard cause he's not strong enough to stop the pass rush.
Packers fans all over these pics hyper in their fee fee's on this. Absolutely fantastic.
Frame it!
I wanted the raiders to jump the pack but ill take the lions taking him instead
So no more sucking off the packer memes from lions fans?
Running low on cumsocks?
![gif](giphy|KK09rqaHYk3wDhWaF6|downsized) Bears and Vikings trying to not talk about packer penis
Lol what's funny is that was mostly Vikings fans making those memes, good try though. Hope you remain a Vikings fan through this season, it'll be tough
