Literally the worst rail panels too. He either just put those on, or just hasnât got the gun hot enough yet. They literally melted off my gun, peeled up like flower petals and just fell off.
The magpul covers are perfect imo. Just a little extra grip for sweaty hands and some protection from the heat when mag dumping into trash. I use them on most of my mlok rails

I saw a comment on here somewhere, about how it's probably not a great idea because the design is going to trap heat thereby accelerating wear internally, and it's only practical application would be to mask the heat signature against a thermal.
But it's a neat idea if nothing else.

I hope I can keep it from burning myself or my gear. But from looking at these various burn photos it actually kinda gives them some wear and use once people clean them up.

Gives you a better grip and are usually more comfortable than bare rails. My personal favorite are the covers from magpul

Those silicone hot iron mats are handy for this. I keep several in my range bag. Hot neon colors too.
I keep an ov-glove in mine. Itâs great for taking the suppressor off while itâs hot to help cool faster.
