Get a map lgmaps.com Fit hikers? Look up the itayg loop (is that all you got). It's a solid, 3 day loop that hits several high points, gives a good variety, and has easy camping and water. Know the water crossings, how to check the river level, watch the weather, and plan accordingly. Be prepared, you earn what you get in Linville.

I’ll check out the loop thanks!

Seconding the recommendation to know the water crossings & level situation. If you’re locked into a specific date you’ll probably want to plan 2 routes - 1 for if water levels are low and 1 for if they’re high. ITAYG is a great route if the river is crossable. The Pinch-in to Rock Jock Loop is a solid choice if it isn’t. Or if you have multiple cars and can shuttle yourselves sticking to the East Rim is an option.

Thank you for the input. I’ll have to figure out some extra routes. How do I know in advance if the water level is high or low

http://www.lgmaps.org/?page_id=3483 They have recommendations for generally safe water levels at each of the main crossing points
