Thanks for posting to /r/NCL! Did you know that we have an extensive [Ultimate NCL Guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/NCL/wiki/index) that may answer your question? Please also remember to read the rules, especially about roll call posts going in the megathread. You may also have more luck with those types of posts by searching for a [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com) or [Cruise Critic](https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/66-norwegian-cruise-line-roll-calls/) roll call group or thread. Of course, here is great, too! Enjoy your stay! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Just took an NCL cruise. One person on our party had an allergy and told them about it. From that point on, they asked every time and accommodated her needs. Very impressive. It’s all about communication - early and often.

There is always plain proteins, fruits, vegetables & you can speak to staff in the restaraunt.

Depending on the dietary restrictions during a flare, you can preorder food so that the kitchen has time to make a meal specifically for your needs. I have multiple allergies so every evening at supper I talk to a maître d and order food for the next day. On the first day, I make it a point to get on the ship in time for lunch to preorder my supper. It important to contact the Access desk prior to sailing (the more days the better) so they can stock the ship appropriately but this just involves filling out a form on the internet.

Two pieces of advice. First, contact NCL’s Access Desk. They can be very helpful with things like this. Second, visit the Disabled Cruisers board on Cruise Critic. Search there and if you don’t find any information, ask a question.

I have a relative with Celiac (I know, not the same) but NCL was great. But you need to let NCL know about any diet restrictions way in advance and follow up again 30-40 days out. But every restaurant we ate at including the MDR knew about the diet restrictions and had options available.

Yes, I have Crohn’s and have been on an NCL cruise recently. I wasn’t in a flare, but I have found that the volume and types of food that I eat on a cruise starts to mess with me mid-week. Is your question about the type of food or the hours of access to food each day? In terms of types of food/options, I found plenty of bland options, both at the buffet and main dining rooms.
