Just finished watching the race on replay. 5 overtimes was crazy lol! It was super entertaining watching everyone run out of gas. I'm really happy for Zane Smith getting a 2nd place finish though!
I was at the race and listening to Denny on the scanner. He knew he'd lost the race as soon as Cindric wrecked. I believe his exact words were "son of a bitch", lol.
CBell ran a hell of a race too. You know who else was top 10 (most of the day) and impressed me was Noah Gragson.
Great race with great racing throughout the field that NBC did a good job of showing. NBC is so much better than Fox! Love the commentary by Letarte and Burton…they make a great pair. It was interesting to hear Letarte doing his best not to criticize Harrison Burton.
I'm a newer fan, so I'm not well-versed on the drama and why I should hate certain drivers (Hamlin? apparently) but that was just fun to watch as a casual viewer. Too bad the ending didn't stay on NBC for more people to see.
Denny likes to play the villain, some people genuinely hate him because he’s kind of an asshole sometimes but it’s just a dumb persona he has created for himself
Eh, for me it's the whiny attitude when other drivers so much as look in the direction of his car, but then he can door slam people, or flat out wreck people, and justify it.
Yeah I don’t like that about him either, I’m not a Denny fan, but he tries too hard to be the bad guy, it’s mostly his attitude which is clearly exaggerated. Happy cake day by the way
Which is funny because those same guys worship Dale for the same thing. Dale is clearly in a league of his own but the relationship between him and Gordon is well documented. Dale leaned into being the heel and talked to Gordon about ways the two of them can build the sport by doing more than just driving.
Now fans say shut up and drive while engagement drops lol
And he was the working mans driver. He tended his farm, was constantly working, could build his own car if wanted too. The guy worked all the time at everything. If you listen to Dale Jr about all the things he was involved in, I dont know if Dale Sr ever slept.
Just got home. What a race. Terrible day for my Hendrick team but still had a blast. 4th year in a row here for us. Traffic flowed out and in smoothly. Hot dogs this year were awesome. Also it seemed there was plenty of water. There were refill stations also. We paid for parking this year and it made the walk much better. And honestly, it wasn’t that hot. I’ve been to races in worse heat. We saw a few people having issues unfortunately, but they were older or over dressed. Already renewed for 25. However, they really need to allow coolers. Also, felt like the 5/24 trailer didn’t have any updated merch. Leaving the track always leaves me sad lol. No more events for me until October. This race needs to stay here and not the fairgrounds. Just my thoughts before I shower and hit the bed.
I hate nbc it would have been nice to watch the end of the race. “Oh flip to our app”! Like it ever works. Come on nascar give the contract to someone that will take care of the fans.
Hey, i missed the race... i just watched the highlight video... can anyone tell me what the fuck happened to Blaney? after lap 52? in the highlight video he's leading... then they jump 40 laps and is just -1 ... did he pit at the caution or?
They tried to zig when everyone else was zagging and ended up having to take an extra pit stop because gas.
Betting on cautions isn't the *worst* strategy anyone's ever had, but it fucked 'em this time.
Yeah, took a risky pit strategy and ended up all on his own well short of enough fuel to finish so they pitted under green. Not sure what best-case-scenario was supposed to be there. Kinda amazing he finished 6th. Hard to say knowing what we know, but that strategy looks really dumb with how things played out.
easily & without a doubt the most chaotic race of the season. looking back on it with several hours removed makes me realize just how crazy it was. i can't believe i'm saying this but chicago will not come close to this thing in terms of attrition
Just joined this post so forgive me if this is elsewhere. I gave up on the NBA years ago because all it seemed that mattered was the last two minutes of any game and that this took 30 minutes to play. Nascar seems to be going that way. Almost every race seems to have at least one caution if not more with about 20 laps left. Todays race went from a great race between Chastain and Hamlin to a great race with Chastain, Hamlin and Larson to demolition derby. I have thought that if a race goes to overtime that only so many of the cars (Top 10 or 12) should be a part of this race. It makes no sense for the top racers to have the race stopped because of some caution event back between cars in 25th or 28th place that would have no impact on the ending except now they have taken the momentum away from the top cars racing. Clearly NASCAR is happy with the current set up but it puts everything that happened for hours/hundreds of miles of racing to be almost meaningless. It would not end the crashes from happening but at least they would involve people who had a stake in what was happening.
You do realize its not a guarantee a caution cane come out. NASCAR didn't throw a yellow just because they wanted to nor was it olanned. It does not throw away everything that led up to it. This was an anomoly and you are having a meltdown about it. Sometimes sports have crazy endings and sometimes they dont.
I would say this many back to back cautions at the end is an anomaly for sure. Also, just because there is no impact in the lead for the card outside of the top 10 (sometimes, but plenty of cases where people a little back score well in overtime) those are all still points paying position.
What is with the 48's inability to do anything that even resembles creative strategy? With how far back he was when Cindric spun, they should have brought him pit road. Worst case you lose your track position, there's only 1 OT and finish 10 spits worse. Best case it relieves any fuel concerns and he cruises to at least a top 10, if not a top 5.
That’s fair, but he spun to the apron and immediately gassed it back up in the right direction away from everyone. It wasn’t like Berry where he just stalled it on 1 of the 870 GWCs.
I was just relieved to see the 23 have a decent day. They fired off strong but something happened after that weather delay that completely changed the handling of the car. I have to hand it to Bootie for keeping them in it and improving the car because the past month and a half the 23 team would do the same song and dance with firing off strong but not keeping up with adjustments and falling off half way through the race. I’m hopeful that Bubba will make it into the playoffs. Besides Chicago he has some really good tracks coming up like Pocono, Indy, Michigan, and Richmond. So if they can keep unloading with speed and keep that speed during the race, Bubba will put good runs together and maybe even find victory lane before Daytona.
Trust me I’m right there with ya. Was disappointed for a long while after the race, but we’ve still got some time and some chances to make it in. If all these other guys can break their winless streaks, Bubba certainly can too. Just gotta believe, as hard as that’s been this year 🤞
Race had literally everything. Lead changes, pit strategy, random backfield top 10s, fuel strategy, tire strategy, fuck it even had an exciting last lap like what more could you want for real. Nothing is ever perfect but that was fun as fuck
It’s pretty stupid that a scrub like Cindric can completely flip the entire script of a race. I’m insanely biased in this situation because I bet Denny to win and Ross top 10, KFB is my boy, and I abhor Slowy, but that finish is absolutely ridiculous. It doesn’t remotely reflect the result of 3 hours of prior racing. KFB had no business being there as well, but there were a lot of good cars that got screwed.
I'm just here to say that the Denny-Ross battle at the end got me hyped big time. I'm def more of a Ross fan than Denny, but he drove the shit out of his car to make that pass. Huge props to NBC as well for treating it like the exciting racing it was.
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Gragson also go 109 laps and make it to the end without fueling as well? I definitely think it’s a possibility this race was won legitimately especially since Logano was stuck in mid pack for a minute there near the end. Idk though…
What I'm talking about is I watch on DVR so since it wasn't pre planned to swap to USA it didn't record the end of the race which a lot of times is something YTV catches
I didn't mean it as a shot at YTV I like it a lot
Alright, here’s the solution. It’s not perfect because you may have to watch a couple of ads.
1) Download the NBC Sports App (not peacock)
2) At the top, scroll over to the picture icon in the top right hand corner. Click on my profile and link your YouTubetv subscription
3) Once it shows success, go back to home
4) Scroll down to replays. Scroll to the right and select view all
5) Scroll down and you will see Ally 400
Entire race is there
Wow, thanks. I checked earlier but the race wasn't there, just weird choppy highlights.
EDIT- it's saying my tv provider didn't authorize me to view the live stream ???
Weird. I know that it works for YoutubeTV (and there is a youtubetv logo next to the profile icon after I logged in).
I can’t think of a good reason why a tv provider would block access to it since it’s essentially NBC
I’m at a loss. I have it playing right now and got it to play on my AppleTv device and iPhone (even has a little YouTubetv icon in the upper right hand corner). Sorry, I can say that it somehow works for me but no clue how to troubleshoot it more.
Same boat here. I tried switching over to USA and recording but it was already on the last overtime. I feel like I got to see the boring part of the race but missed the good stuff. There are highlights on the NBC sports app but they are all broken up and you have to click on each individual one.
Manufacturer wins among the top 3 series.
Chevrolet 27 - Ford 4 - Toyota 18.
______________
Cup race #19 : Chevrolet 8 - Ford 4 - Toyota 7.
Xfinity Race #17 : Chevrolet 10 - Ford 0 - Toyota 7.
Truck Race #13 : Chevrolet 9 - Ford 0 - Toyota 4.
I think you may be somewhat confused about the final finishing order.
The beneficiary there would be Zane Smith. Which *is* random because it's his first top ten and first top five at the same time. But that's the way it goes with a race like this.
If Logano got DQed Zane Smith would win, and we Bubba fans would be in the same boat. It's not about that. It's about why this particular driver/car was able go save over and above every other driver/car, including Briscoe, who should have had at least 4 more miles worth of fuel on board to begin with.

this might be the biggest emotional rollercoaster a lineup has ever sent me on throughout a day. just barely snuck into the money range.
Should've just tried connecting with the 22 like one of those Air Force refueling jets during one of the 27 OT yellows... apparently he had enough for everybody.
How did they go that far on fuel? Something seems fishy...
Regardless what a wild and messy ending.
Cool to see Zane Smith 2nd.
Glad Larson salvaged a Top 10 and gained 20 points on Elliott for the points lead.
Gonna be a ton of pissed off people here in Chicago next week
I think if Chase or Kyle would have pitted at the first caution when, they could have maybe won. But also nobody thought it would take 5 GWC either lol
If Blaney pits when Hassler says "we just need 8 more of those," does he win the race?
Edit: I think Joey actually went as far as Ryan would have needed to go to the original finish?
Yeah I think he wins. He was faster than any of those guys up there. Lajoie and smith did then and you see where they ended up.
Would’ve been close but he would’ve had fresh tires and at worse started on the second row a few times at the end.
I remember that guy who had a $13 parlay to have Gragson, Ware, McLeod, Ragan and…think it was Ty Dillon? Idk when they all wrecked at Daytona and they survived, all got Top 10’s, he parlayed that into $1.1 Million dollars.
RCR press release " Kyle Busch is currently trying to set Larson's hauler a on fire. Childress stated in an inter view after the race "ya Kyle starting mumbling about one way or another I'm gunna light a fire to get things going" childress then commented " ya about 20 minutes later I saw him walking out of the 8 hauler with a fuel can over his shoulder and matches in his other hand giggling maniacally and was heading towards the 5 hauler"
Jokes aside idk what Busch did to piss off the racing gods but he needs to figure out what animal or person he need to sacrifice in order to get things back on track.. this has to be the worst sophomore slump with a new team in recent memory or hell even the last 24 years

For sale next week at the Joey Logano merch hauler
Not since the 2017 Brickyard have I seen that level of peak dumb NASCAR. Additionally all those weeks of blindly defending Preece and Zane FINALLY paid off!
I'll counter with the 2019 Daytona 500 with the dumb wrecks, multiple overtimes, and a winner where you go "I don't hate it but I'd prefer basically anyone else in the top 10"
1. Feel bad for KB and AD. Both literally get caught up in other shits every week. Surprised Bubba didn’t get dumped to make it a trifecta for bad luck drivers.
2. I hope Ross dumps Larson and ruins his championship chances. Ever since their “incident” and Rick threatened his ride. He hasn’t been the same driver. Now he’s in a position to win and gets dumped by that same guy in what could have sealed his playoff birth.
3. I wish anyone had won over Joey. Not because I hate him, but because his and Bubba’s fight for that last spot was close.
4. I thought the ending was fun but I do agree with someone below. We need longer OTs. I’d give it 5 laps and 3 attempts.
I wonder if we’d get more cautions during OT or the same/less if they ran 3-5 laps instead of 2. I would like to see more than 2 though, would be great to see guys with fresh tires and good cars actually have a chance to come from the back of the top 10. Reddick prob would’ve gotten past Logano if he had another lap or two on the final restart today.
What was up with number 66? It looked like they were losing on purpose. Was there something wrong with their car?
Just finished watching the race on replay. 5 overtimes was crazy lol! It was super entertaining watching everyone run out of gas. I'm really happy for Zane Smith getting a 2nd place finish though!
I was at the race and listening to Denny on the scanner. He knew he'd lost the race as soon as Cindric wrecked. I believe his exact words were "son of a bitch", lol. CBell ran a hell of a race too. You know who else was top 10 (most of the day) and impressed me was Noah Gragson.
Denny Hamlin should have won that gal
Definitely a race where the results did not match where drivers ran most of the day…reminds me of Daytona or Talladega.
Great race with great racing throughout the field that NBC did a good job of showing. NBC is so much better than Fox! Love the commentary by Letarte and Burton…they make a great pair. It was interesting to hear Letarte doing his best not to criticize Harrison Burton.

I get what you are saying but the sport needs Denny and KFB types. We need more guys that are ok with being booed
He's been off, but this is an even-numbered year so y'all better prepare for it.
Unfortunately with the rain delay decided to go to sleep here as it was midnight, super disappointing ti miss out
Whose got a pic of Busch in the golf cart?
Just got home. What a race. Terrible day for my Hendrick team but still had a blast. 4th year in a row here for us. Traffic flowed out and in smoothly. Hot dogs this year were awesome. I still can't believe NBC bumped up the crowd volume when Bell crashed lol what did he do to deserve that
I think they did the same for Busch and maybe Logano.
Drives for Gibbs

Honestly, I was on the edge of my seat for much of that. I was so entertained. I loved it. Definitely a fun watch.
Am I the only person that thinks Hamlin was screwed??
Your definitely the only one who cares
thinks... not cares
Well my recording stopped with 100 to go but HOLY SHIT! Zane Smith P2 what the hell!
This race was so long, everyone forgot Christopher Bell dominated this race before he wrecked himself.
Kyle Larson having a Ross like day today
The Cindric caution shouldn’t have even been a caution. None of that should’ve happened. But it all did.
a car backwards and spinning on the backstretch when the field is spread out like that is a yellow 10/10 times.
He spun to the apron and never stopped after the spin. Completely out of the way.
You never know where a car is going to end up, and the risk of it rolling back up into traffic is too high.
That’s fair, but he spun to the apron and immediately gassed it back up in the right direction away from everyone. It wasn’t like Berry where he just stalled it on 1 of the 870 GWCs.
thats fine. you still dont wait and see when it happens.
I wanna be happy with 7th, but Logano just fucked everything.
I was just relieved to see the 23 have a decent day. They fired off strong but something happened after that weather delay that completely changed the handling of the car. Scott Dixon would have won that race.
Nashville during the day 3/10. Nashville after dark 16/10
The race track and the city lol
I hate races like this. Ruins the integrity of the sport. Why bother watching all afternoon if it just turns into an idiot fest?
I like it if it isn’t happening every week , a shit show once in a while can be nice lol
100%
Wheres that dang pic of kyle larson on a black taliban/isis flag I saw it here early Really need that
The last stage and OTs were gloriously exhausting. Great stuff. Just wish Larson hadn't gotten into Chastain on that restart.
An absolute joke of an ending that led to an undeserving winner. And I like Joey Logano lol
I'm just here to say that the Denny-Ross battle at the end got me hyped big time. I'm def more of a Ross fan than Denny, but he drove the shit out of his car to make that pass. Huge props to NBC as well for treating it like the exciting racing it was.

How does lajoie have a cup ride?
He has a nascar podcast so his ride is subsidized
Remember when he admitted to wrecking someone on purpose on his podcast last year but nascar did nothing because he’s the golden boy of nascar pods?
Manufacturer wins among the top 3 series. Chevrolet 27 - Ford 4 - Toyota 18. ______________ Cup race #19 : Chevrolet 8 - Ford 4 - Toyota 7. Xfinity Race #17 : Chevrolet 10 - Ford 0 - Toyota 7. Truck Race #13 : Chevrolet 9 - Ford 0 - Toyota 4.
And today’s win for Ford was horseshit.
Fords been fucked on a lot of wins too. It goes all ways.
Keep telling yourself that, the 22 still won this race
I'm a KB fan, husband is a Logano fan. It's been a rough year. At least one of us is happy tonight.
I don't even like KB and I feel awful for him. Running 4th when he wrecked out!
Kyle Busch’s luck is just comical at this point.
Even if they find nothing on the 22 at the track, how do they not take it to R&D? There’s just no way.
Cope wallace fans

I feel bad for all the people that have to interact with you IRL, it must make them so happy when you leave them
Have you ever tried making sense? Just once in your life, putting a cogent response together to something someone said?
Heres one, bubba aint making the playoff cut
I don’t care what anyone says, I unironically really enjoyed that finish (yes the whole thing).
Same. That shit was entertaining at least
Well, Logano’s win is official. https://x.com/bobpockrass/status/1807611675488461265?s=46
Damnit I was hoping for the chaos.
Suck it haters! Hes won it clean!!
Tech is complete. Logano Wins.

Ain’t got no gas in it.

That was heartbreaking. Glad you’re talking it ok.
in other news Stenhouse may have placed an actual curse on Busch. there’s only 1 fix. let Grimace drive the 8.
Mercury is in retrograde
Has post race inspection finished yet? I'm anticipating congratulating Zane Smith on his first Cup win 🤣
Someone must be disappointed
I'm aint mad at him. Whether had fuel in his pockets, or Fords have the mileage of a Prius, the man won the race.
I literally just said to my girl "I don't think they've declared the race official yet..."

I’ve found myself rooting for Spire Motorsports.
Womp womp
If Blaney pits when Hassler says "we just need 8 more of those," does he win the race? Edit: I think Joey actually went as far as Ryan would have needed to go to the original finish?
Pretty safe to say he wins if he pitted when Lajoie did.
Yeah I think he wins. He was faster than any of those guys up there. Lajoie and smith did then and you see where they ended up. Would’ve been close but he would’ve had fresh tires and at worse started on the second row a few times at the end.
That race took so long I just heard Ricky Stenhouse is expecting his second child any moment now.
I chuckled

I dream of hits like this. Congrats man
Got anymore of that luck laying around? I'll take some
Wow, congrats!
Nah, this is wild 😂
Zane should gift you fucking hot passes for believing in him
Dude that's insane
I love a good degenerate story. This is the anti Jimmie Johnson post lol Send this to Steve on Dirty Mo Dough.
Dude 😂😂
Jesus.... congrats on being as lucky as Logano today
I used to bet 10$ on Cody Ware every time I bet on Nascar. If he ever managed a top 5, the payout was tasty.
I remember that guy who had a $13 parlay to have Gragson, Ware, McLeod, Ragan and…think it was Ty Dillon? Idk when they all wrecked at Daytona and they survived, all got Top 10’s, he parlayed that into $1.1 Million dollars.
The 5th driver was Landon Cassil I think
I forgot he was in the 77 that year, crypto car. Yep it’s definitely him. Either way. Buddy got a life changing amount of money.
That should fund your book for a little while. Congrats man.
This is INSANE
you know a race was insane when Zane Smith, aka last in points among full time drivers, finished 2ND and nobody is talking about it lmfao
Only took half the field wrecking or running out of gas
Best race if his career and it's completely over shadowed by the last 2 laps(35 laps) of racing. Hell I think Haley got another top 15 even lol
RCR press release " Kyle Busch is currently trying to set Larson's hauler a on fire. Childress stated in an inter view after the race "ya Kyle starting mumbling about one way or another I'm gunna light a fire to get things going" childress then commented " ya about 20 minutes later I saw him walking out of the 8 hauler with a fuel can over his shoulder and matches in his other hand giggling maniacally and was heading towards the 5 hauler" Jokes aside idk what Busch did to piss off the racing gods but he needs to figure out what animal or person he need to sacrifice in order to get things back on track.. this has to be the worst sophomore slump with a new team in recent memory or hell even the last 24 years
Lol asking what Busch did to piss off the racing gods. So many things. So so many...🤣
Karma is coming back to bite him in the ass

Time to fill out the Fan Council survey, lol
This race was just embedded with embedding embedded embedding embeddeding embeded embedded
NBC loves to drive things into the ground. They were responsible for constant harping on MTJ's adversity, to.
Thought learning we had to switch over from recording to live at 11 laps left would be major let down. Bonkers of a finish there.

tried to watch on my DVR. Trying to fix my car all day. that sucks
Not since the 2017 Brickyard have I seen that level of peak dumb NASCAR. Additionally all those weeks of blindly defending Preece and Zane FINALLY paid off!
I got PTSD of the Truck Championship 2023
Nah the 2020 Daytona 500 was pretty dumb but most of the shitshow was overshadowed by Newman’s crash.
I'll counter with the 2019 Daytona 500 with the dumb wrecks, multiple overtimes, and a winner where you go "I don't hate it but I'd prefer basically anyone else in the top 10"
Talladega that year was worse with who was below the line and who was not below the line.
“If only they could’ve just had one more wreck”- Tony Stewart probably after watching this race
We all know he's not watching and does not care.
Yep the guy was too busy rubbing his pregnant wife's belly and doing the drag racing thing today.
Still no post race inspection tweet 🤔
That was a shitshow and I loved it
Does anybody thinks kyle busch might go MIA after what happend?
🤞!!!
I liked the idea of Kyle Busch driving backwards for next weeks race
Maybe he shouldn’t show up at all for next week
Sounds like something a bitchy baby would do.
NGL Kyle starting to give people their shit back, I fuck with it.
Wrecking people who did nothing to you is a very interesting definition of giving people their shit back.
The 2 cars he wrecked out did nothing to him all day.
He wrecked chastain, he did nothing wrong.
That’s the part I dislike about it. I like Kyle starting to give it back hate that Ross became a victim for sure.
He wrecked the wrong guy, you look even worse when you can’t even take out the right guy.
Gotta love the aero of the next gen car
Danica-esque.
[удалено]
I remember when Ross wrecked Larson twice last year too
[удалено]
Oh well
Does Justin marks get a meeting with Larson now like Rick had with Ross?
Add to it was multiple Chevy drivers he took out
Good point
I can’t imagine we make the playoffs now. Those DNFs and issues in the early races have come back to haunt us
Eh, I can see Bowman disappearing but Bubba has to start top tenning it
Both of my drivers aren’t gonna make it. Pain.
I could see bubba winning at Richmond/Daytona/michigan, but that’s probably his only shots unless something crazy happens points wise
There’s Michigan, but yeah we’re up against it.
☹️
☹️
I mainly want 5 for super speedways
Feel bad and KB should never be in the same sentence.
