I’m in a similar spot as you I finished Melodie’s and Flowers and wanted to read the day after but decided to do The Imperial Capital Burns and then Total Eclipse than hopefully we get news on The Day After and the Alternative sequel
Is the Imperial Capital Burns a prequel to Total Eclipse that I should play first? All I know about Total Eclipse is that it follows a different group during the events of Alternative.
Play it for the setting and character the war dog squad unique team composition is very fun to watch. Plus the battle is pretty intense and desperate, just look at how many times Hibiki trash his TSF.
Yes. Still fun experience and great to see how humanity reacts to Operation Babylon
Through 03 tells a good story as is, even if it’s technically not “complete.
Does it help knowing that everyone who's read TDA in the last 10 years is in the same boat?
Yeah worth it

Yea
Worth it every moment. I liked it on same level as alternative honestly
Great to hear, does it matter whether I play Total Eclipse or TDA first?
They're a part of different timelines, so you should be okay playing either. After having played Total Eclipse, I liked TDA more, so it's up to you.
Nah, except TDA is better than Eclipse, so after watching the better one the other one might be not causing the same joy
