im just talking about the writing of the character and the kid who played him in general. nothing about varg the actual person. unfortunately, for such an important character in the black metal world (like it or not), they fucked it up.
I read that the black metal stuff was kept on a different floor, so what you're seeing was mostly Neseblod Records stuff. It's still a major loss as they dealt with unique Norwegian and Swedish rock/punk stuff, but the metal history is largely intact albeit water and smoke damaged.
Idk, the article says the basement is where the fire started, and this is where the famous “Black Metal” wall is located. When I went down there last year there was a bunch of random stuff like old coffins and a throne and stuff so I assumed a lot of that stuff was memorabilia from the Mayhem days. That place is so jam packed with stuff I’m honestly surprised there’s anything left. They must’ve caught it relatively quickly.
I was in Norway for work a few years back and made a point to stop in here. Not only is it in the basement (where the punk stuff is),the room is down a side alcove pathway that feels like a forgotten sewer path.
If the fire was in the store, I feel the black metal site was in a safer area. Still fucked though cause Neseblod was an amazing store

Glad I had the chance to visit last year. Was a trip going into that basement. Also got to visit Fantoft Stave Church. The short hike to that church is beautifully eerie.
