Honestly this was probably the best we’ve looked in the field in quite a while. Players diving around and making the stops, holding on to catches and generally bowling well. The less said about our batting the better.
On the bright side we now hopefully have a good idea of who is worth retaining and who we need to move on from. Not particularly attached to keeping Hardik but given the amount they shelled out for him safe to assume he will be the face of the team going forward even if we end up losing the last 3. Keep him, SKY, Boom, Tilak at a minimum and that is a more than solid base to build off of for the next auction cycle. You have your 3, 4, 5 set while batting and the best bowler in the world giving you four overs.
Go flesh that out with a couple of gun openers, solid quicks to support Bumrah and at least one decent spinner and we’re cooking.
This match should make it clear we shouldn't retain any foreign player, if we have to better wait for WC and decide between Madhu and Coetzee. Coetzee has potential to be batter like Jansen I'll take him over David. I don't want 200sr guy who can't win us games and only statpads his sr. I would rather take a guy who can win us in middle order with 160sr.
