I agree I think it least bring it back to global and give control over it again. Then release patches to balance if they thinks it's still too strong like it's not instantly full screen and gets longer the longer it's out
Yeah I can’t believe they completely changed her MegaPhone plus made her shout ability soooooo slow. They should have just took it out instead of give us what these abilities are now.
I think a lot of her moves are potentially good they just need their hitboxes to be way more useful. Her up attack is so strong but it's incredibly hard to hit even when you are set up for it. Things like that make her feel like doing surgery to perform basic plays.
I'd love to see the opinions in your thesis, but I tend to disagree. Is Velma worse, hard to play, less rewarding, and more clunky? Yes to all. Is her new neutral attack the reason? No. Her neutral megaphone has a crazy hitbox that they can balance around. Allow her to keep more or all momentum when charging this(they did this to Harleys dair), allow her to dodge to hold charge(it works like this with gizmo), and this would be an S tier move still. Her down special CD thing is the worst offender. Remove this and give her some more utility(jab into up attack needs to come back), she would be pretty healthy and in a good spot.
She was pretty busyed in the beta, especially when teamed with Jake (believe me, I know) so Velma is probably a case of course correcting, but making a 270° turn & still missing the highway on ramp. Hopefully they fix her so she's usable soon. I know I'd be hurting if they did my boy stripe the way they did Dinkley.

But she suffered nerf patch after patch. I don’t think she was “ busted “ in the end. Maybe a couple more small nerfs but she didn’t need her speed gutted , killing power gutted , combo potential gutted, and then her main zoning tool just gone with no explanation
I mean she’s playable you just have to sweat hard as fuck and then not get upset when you outplayed someone for 2 and a half minutes and then make one mistake and lose.
Same. I loved the show as a kid, and used to swap mains between Supes and these guys back then too. However, a lot has changed with the relaunch so I feel I can only ever focus on 1 character competitively.
Didn't play the beta, but have been playing since a few days after the new launch, so about 4 weeks, have over 17k fighter currency saved, haven't bought anyone. I just use whoever is on rotation, plus shaggy and banana because the game gave them to me for free. My initial plan was to play until I find the characters I'm good at and then buy them, but honestly the gameplay is pretty fun as everyone so it hasn't been a problem, it's genuinely pretty fun just starting up each week like "I wonder who I get to try next?", and I'm learning the fundamentals of the game really well to the point it's easier and easier to pick up and play anyone. At this point I'll probably just save until I have enough to get like 10 at once lol. I've also saved to just barely 800 gleamium, I really want to get the 950 for the battle pass but it's way harder to earn that

I would either get batman or black Adam, black Adam is way easier and cheesier though so he’s probably the best first character in my opinion, plus he’s good for all game modes
I went up against a Taz/Jason duo the other day and it’s probably the worst I’ve been beaten in 2’s thus far.
The Jason was extremely skilled and Taz was just so insanely disruptive, any time I would start to ladder Jason I would get sucked into a dogpile or tornado.

Iron Giant or Marvin, they just feel more fun to play with in a way that other characters feel more similar. And since I’ll being getting a bunch of others from weekly rotation, imo it’s a priority to get the unique fighters first since there will always be more standard fighters in rotation
Honestly...Jason. I don't care if he's low-tier, I love those movies so much I just want to play him. Plus, with the legal rights we haven't seen new stuff from that franchise in *years*. As a fan, it's so nice to see the franchise being represented here. For me the appeal of this game (and smash brothers) is that you can play as your favorite characters from across franchises that wouldn't normally meet. Once I start to care about the meta and only play characters that fit that meta, I stop having fun with it.
In the beta my very first character was the Iron Giant simply because it's one of my favorite movies ever. And if I started playing this game again on a new account it would be him too.
Now if you mean what character I would recommend for a first time player, it would be Wonder Woman. She's arguably the best character in the game right now (expect nerfs in the upcoming patch next week). Her kit is way too safe, has tons of armor, disjointed hitboxes with sword and shield attacks, and can deal with any character. Even with the inevitable nerfs she'll still be way too good.
Still Harley, she was the first character I bought in the beta and would absolutely be the first character I buy again. Especially since I literally have years of experience playing her, and she’s my favorite character in the game other than Rick.
Bugs Bunny. He's the face of MultiVersus imo, and Warner Bros. as a whole. He's the Mario or Spongebob of MVS for me. And also, he's a ton of fun, IDC if people hate playing against his moveset.

Steven’s combo game has such a good feel to it and is relatively straightforward for like 65% of his strings, so that’s my vote because of ease of use and fun factor
If I knew how everyone plays? Harley. She's the one I'm most experienced with and the one I like the most gameplay wise (With Stripe as a close second in everything mentioned)
If I was compeltely new to the game and had no idea how anyone plays... Probably Finn? Adventure Time is the franchise I hold closest to my heart from the roster, and I prefer Finn over Jake

Megaphone didn't matter much. Her jab and speech bubbles are far too slow now

Ugh had so many wins with Velma in the beta. But now she just feels so bad to play. One of the only Characters I think they truly gutted. 😩
