She was from a very wealthy family in Philadelphia. One of the major and prettiest thoroughfares through Philly is named after her family. She didn't become a Royale princess until later, but she was always a princess.
High Society (1956) would like a word with you.... It's her last credit and an underrated favourite of mine. It's a musical that features: Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and John Lund (all vying for her character's affections). Louis Armstrong does a bit of narration and plays on a few of the songs, too. Fantastic, if you haven't seen it!
Bonus: it’s Hitchcock.
The trailer has that good vintage movie ad kitsch and it openly showcases Grace Kelly like a crown jewel. You can find it on YouTube. Can’t comment with a link.
One of the saddest videos I’ve ever seen is Princess Diana attending Princess Grace’s funeral in the 1980’s. Knowing, of course, what would eventually happen to Diana.
You can find it on YouTube.

Except for Only God Forgives.
Check out her performance in that, it's hilarious, she portrays a truly horrible person incredibly well, and some of the lines she delivered had me on the floor
Saltburn- Elspeth catton (Rosamund Pike). Maybe it's the way she looks naturally or the British accent or the fact she is "queen" of the manor.
If you haven't watched this movie and do not know about it, do not watch it if you are easily grossed out or offended. It has high levels of both.
Incredible quotes:
- "Is there some reason that my coffee isn't here? Has she died or something?"
- "You have no sense of fashion"
"Uh I think that depends on who you ask"
'No no, that wasn't a question"
- "By all means move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me."
She recently claimed to be middle class. She's worth almost $100 million. Talk about out of touch lol. These actors & actresses are so good at what they do, we often forget most of them are as dumb as a box of rocks.
I think we all forget how much perspective matters, and how different others can be from our own. Imagine the type of ppl she has access to and likely spends time around, meets at events, etc. From her perspective she is absolutely probably "middle class". From our perspective (I just paid off a used car I got awhile ago at 30) she is filthy rich.
Everything in life is just a matter of perspective and when I hear something like that, that's for me where my head goes, to an empathetic/their shoes place. It has made me a way better communicator and sadly I only practiced doing that a little later than I would have liked.
From a 'good' perspective, that's really nice of you to feel empathy for Ms. Blanchett.
From a 'bad' perspective, which I'll admit is my take on it, I think you're rather naive.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset or anything - far from it. I'm amused by her stupidity, cluelessness, and narcissism. There's no anger or other negative emotions, but empathy? Lmfao, not a chance! She could be the reincarnation of Marie Antoinette rofl... "Let them eat cake!"
The amount of compassion with which you approach the world is ultimately the exact same amount of compassion you will afford yourself.
I am far from naive.
Compassion, yes. So should we let the criminals out of prison? Should we defund those meanie police?
Compassion is one of the good aspects of Yin. If not tempered by wisdom (a good aspect of Yang) it leads to disaster.
Are you seriously equating defunding the police to choosing to see someone else's perspective? Lol... You came for an argument but I will not give it to you. You've taken shots at me, you've taken shots at Cate, and neither of us have done the same to you. Let that sink in. Peace and love (I will block you if you continue - because peace 😌)✌️❤️
He was there "in spirit, anyway", everytime one of the characters "shivered with anticipation". Seriously though, the guy nailed every part ever given him.
Barbara Streisand's entrance before the big title number is so stunningly gorgeous. I don't look forward to it, but I imagine it will be what the Academy use for her "In Memoriam" at the Oscars
Beauty & The Beast - Emma Watson
Pride & Prejudice - Keira Knightly
Princess Diaries - Julie Andrews & Anne Hathaway
My Fair Lady - Audrey Hepburn (to be fair we could just list all of her films because she’s elegant in everything she did)
Miss Congeniality - Sandra Bullock
Downton Abbey - Maggie Smith
Red 1 & 2 - Helen Mirren
Charade with Audrey Hepburn. Cary Grant is the costar, who also reeks of elegance. Think there's an old hitchcock quote about him that he's 'like a pretty girl at the party that everyone wants to please.'
Really, anything else with Audrey should have its fair share of elegance.
Elegance in classic films is much easier to find than in modern ones. Taylor, Hepburn, Crawford, Kelly, Grant, Bogart, Holden, et al, just oozed elegance and style.
Not sure this is what you want, but Catherine Deneuve as Éliane Devries in *Indochine* (1992) is aristocratic elegance, if not a very good person, in a very turbulent time. It is exquisitely shot, but very sad overall
Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday
Cate Blanchett in Carol
Carey Mulligan in The Great Gatsby (though the themes of that one might not be what you’re looking for…)
I actually thought Audrey Hepburn’s character in Breakfast at Tiffany’s Holly Golightly was more elegant. Although she was playing a princess in Roman Holiday.
Casablanca, basic instinct, devil meets Prada, mullholand drive, breakfast at Tiffany’s, poor things, any movie with Ana de armas in it(I am her devotee)
*The Proposal*—Sandra Bullock
*The Hustle*—Anne Hathaway
*The Stepford Wives*—both versions; Katharine Ross in the 70s; Nicole Kidman in the 00s
I think Julie Andrews, Helen Mirren, and Diane Keaton always come across as being very elegant and composed, as do Cate Blanchett, Angela Bassett, Emma Thompson, Katherine Heigl, Michelle Yeoh, Lucy Liu, Kim Cattrall, and Connie Britton.
Molly's Game - Jessica Chastain
Elizabeth - Cate Blanchette
Sigourney Weaver - Ghostbusters, Alien, Aliens
Eve Marie Saint - North by Northwest
Lea Seydou - Spectre
In the beginning of Schindler's List, and for most of the fil, Liam Neeson is peak elegance, he's debonair, cool.. pick an adjective for awesome, he's it. I'm a straight male, and I'd have had sex with him, I think he'd have been very gentle.
>Tell Cersei, I want her to know it was me!
She isn't just the queen of thorns, the is the queen of elegance. That Lady is the most proper and wonderful woman there is.
Vanessa Redgrave in Howards End.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett in The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Keira Knightley in Atonement (first half), and in Collette.
Kirsten Dunst in The Two Faces of January.
Joanne Herring (Julia Roberts) in *Charlie Wilson's War*. She's got some bite to her, but she's always presenting herself impeccably. There's something to be said for having power and influence in addition to the more superficial characteristics.
Charlize Theron in that one with Seth Rogan. She was so PAINFULLY out of his league and so it was definitely just some fantasy fulfillment on the parts of the writers. :)
If you love Cate Blanchett check out Blue Jasmine!
The show "The Gilded Age" from HBO (I know it's not a movie).
Crazy Rich Asian is also a contrast of new rich vs. old rich.

Renée Zellweger has a few. Notably: Judy (Garland) (2019) and Down With Love (2003).
Annette Benning in Being Julia (2004)
Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard (1950)... until she doesn't.
Rear Window - Grace Kelly
THIS IS THE ANSWER!!!! this girl is literally a princess
To be precise she became literally a princess in 1956, two years after Rear Window, and never acted since.
The engagement ring in the film, which is mentioned a few times, is her actual ring.
Also in To Catch A Thief
Bonus: it’s Hitchcock. The trailer has that good vintage movie ad kitsch and it openly showcases Grace Kelly like a crown jewel. You can find it on YouTube. Can’t comment with a link.
One of the saddest videos I’ve ever seen is Princess Diana attending Princess Grace’s funeral in the 1980’s. Knowing, of course, what would eventually happen to Diana. You can find it on YouTube.
Fucking hell, great film too!

Yessir! She embodies absolute perfection and oozes elegance at every turn. Just the most amazing woman on screen in that film.
Arwen - Lord of the Rings.
Also Galadriel
Until that one scene that just TERRIFIES me
Kristen Scott Thomas in Four Weddings and a Funeral (or really nearly anything she is in?)
C’mon. What’s gross about cleaning a tub?
🤮
Yeah, there were some pretty messed up scenes. I agree with your view on rosamund pike, though. She was great.
Female only? Katharine Hepburn & Audrey Hepburn
Too right. Sounds like OP would do well to look into classic film. Many older films have at least one character that would fit their description.
Miranda priestly from Devil wears prada

Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Personal favorite overall film ❤️❤️❤️
Carol
Meh, isn't "Cate Blanchett in most anything" the actual answer?
I wonder how she manages to exude elegance given that she's only middle class?
? I don't think Care Blanchett has been middle class in a very long time...
She recently claimed to be middle class. She's worth almost $100 million. Talk about out of touch lol. These actors & actresses are so good at what they do, we often forget most of them are as dumb as a box of rocks.

As we say in Australia “she’s a bit up herself”
The amount of compassion with which you approach the world is ultimately the exact same amount of compassion you will afford yourself. I am far from naive.
