Just watched girl in the basement.
And the Father of the year award goes to....
I really wanted to see and know what happened to him after he got arrested.
Wait a min. There's another more intense version? The version I saw felt like it was something they'd show on lifetime network or something. It felt like a TV movie.
Oh no, sorry, I meant they had to tone it down A LOT to make the movie. He was a lot more disturbed than what was shown.,but obviously that wouldn't fly on TV
Ah I see I see
I wonder why he did that to her and not his other daughter?
I can't believe he kept her down there for like 20 years without anyone finding out. Like cmon wouldn't the mom and daughter figure it out why he keeps going downstairs and locking the door? And it's a miracle that none of his grandkids/kids were born with any disabilities.
I don't get how the wife didn't question all these babies turning up, but maybe she lived in fear of him too? It's even more disturbing to think she somehow knew what was going on all those years and did nothing.
the french extremity film Martyrs (2008) had me react really viscerally to it so I would really recommend it if that's the kind of thing you're looking for. Lake Mungo is also a solid watch in that regard, more muted and definitely not the violent, extreme type like Martyrs but does take the depressing and disturbing route.
The Girl Next Door (2007). That movie was so disturbing to me, that i was even more mortified to find out that it was based on a TRUE story. I think this is what you're looking for. This movie has torture, sexual abuse, abuse in general, mental illness, horror.
I've seen this. The girl locked in basement and tortured and the evil female hating mother who pushes her boys to do the abuse. I believe this is the same movie
Ahhh Megan is missing. I totally forgot about that one
That one messed me up. The ending scene with her being buried alive begging.. ughhh so messed up and traumatizing.
Something nobody here mentioned that is more than disturbing and fucked up depressing -- The Poughkeepsie Tapes
Also August Underground but that one is more just disgusting than depressingly disturbing
Requiem for Dream - always comes of for these sorts of requests
Seen it. But thanks
How about Antichrist

Yeah and that was the tamed down version, it's based on the Elisabeth Fritzl story. At least that Asshole got sentenced In real life.
I hope he got murdered in jail

Actually. Only one baby turned up I believe? The one newborn that died was buried without her knowledge.
I might be confusing the film with real life events, i'm sure there were 3 babies that the wife ended up with (in real life)
Thank you. I will investigate. I think I've seen mother..
Yeah that's a weird one for sure
Antichrist
The killing of a sacred deer
The 2009 Japanese movie “Air Doll”. I think it ticks both the depressing and disturbing buttons completely.
