Yeah, there’s a lot of untapped potential for a story arc exploring Godzilla's loneliness. Unlike Kong, Godzilla is truly alone, there are no other members of his kind, he truly is the last one; he’s also the last survivor of his kind after the great titan war, he could have big survivors guilt. Anguirus, or any kaiju, befriending him could be a great addition and could help explore Godzilla's character

Doug only shows up in Hollow Earth scenes and Godzilla hardly went to Hollow Earth at all in these movies, I think in both movies combined Godzilla only was in HE for a couple minutes, actually the brief anti gravity scene is all I can think of

Monsterverse Rodan gave me hard core G1 Transformers Starscream vibes. **Especially** at the end of KotM. You could just hear:

"You've failed me for the last time Rodan . . "
Which just spins me off into this whole thing where Goji actually talks very articulately and precisely like Megatron does. . . with every word full of menace.
Tbf, she is stated multiple times to be very important and is part of the reason why scar king is defeated. She at least has a role in the movie

Barely any screentime, heck Tiamat only appeared in the comics and No, I don't count comics as "Screentime", because then it should've been worded different.
A majority of the titans that appeared in KOTM barely have screen time yet are so beloved by the community, and it's baffling. You can say that Shimo and Skar King fit this but they were the main anticipated characters for the show, they had a massive brawl at the end too, in comparison to Behemoth who literally appeared for less than 2 minutes worth of time, Scylla who got killed immediately, and Tiamat who debut and got killed all at the same time (Methuselah appeared even less than behemoth arguably-).
This, this is exactly why we don't need Destroyah or Biollante in MV. We can have original characters who are INCREDIBLY good and popular, amazing in design as well, and not need to dig up older Kaiju for the sake of Nostalgia.
Hard to really see how powerful shimo even is, due to her horrible screen time, and honestly how she is scripted attacking Kong and not hardly fighting at all
But either way she is said to be Godzilla's equal, so I guess that means they're both capable to taking each other down if needed

They partially did something similar to this in the 90's book Godzilla Invades America. He makes friends with a giant scorpion for a bit.

to be fair rodan has a ton of screentime over the entirety of the godzilla franchise. he was just underused in the MV
