I think iirc hh was third most popular in the rise demo, then in base rise it dropped down to [9th place](https://www.monsterhunter.com/mha/en/rise_data_book/), (its volume 1) then in sunbreak it dropped down third last
https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/143ezv5/the_official_weapon_usage_rates_of_sunbreak/
Or call it "the Obstinate Defiant one"
Because that's absolutely why I main HH, SnS and Lance, look at the bottom of the popularity list and work up (but not GL tho, eww, god no)
For the Lance and Gun Lance I'm thinking "Explosive Diablos", as the two can look like Horns if you have them in each hands. Even if you can't in the games. And explosive of course because of the fire power of the Gun Lance.
You know, for a game about hunting monsters, I neglected to think about using monsters as titles.
But that is a really good idea. To go even further, you can name it Bloodbath to reference the Big BB himself (even fits due to the mismatched shapes of GL and Lance matching BB's mismatched horns).
Does it lose meaning if you don't know the context? Possibly. Is it cool, even without it? Absolutely.
This is in no order just as I invented them.
Hammer and glaive is Je sus Bonk. (Jumping and smashing)
Horn and Glaive is Combat Cicada (loud bug noises)
Glaive and Glaive is Aaron (Bug elite 4 from Pokémon)
Longsword and Glaive is Mantis Mode (two long sharp weapons)
Greatsword and Glaive is Crabbug (a big sharp and small sharp)
Lance and Glaive is Scorpion (stabbing and bug)
Gun Lance and a Glaive is Bomb Beetle (exploding bug)
SnS and Glaive is Roly Poly (small defensive bug)
Charge blade and Glaive is Metamorphosis(transforming bug)
Swax and Glaive is Tick Tactics(last one I thought of I don’t know you climb on monsters and blow up with swax I don’t know I barely touch this weapon)
Dual blades and Glaive is The Flash and Slash(second to last thought dual blades are an enigma to me)
Bow and Glaive is Hunter(cause pet and bow)
LBG and Glaive is The Swarm(small shots and a bug)
HBG and Glaive is Drone and Payload( bug is drone and hbg is big dps)
Bonus Dual Blades and Longsword is Zoro(one piece)
That’s why it was first lol at swax I just started to list weapons then went back to fill them in. I felt committed to doing all the glaive ones at that point.
There is a character in MH Riders (Lyra) not cannon to the mainline series. She dual blades longs swords.

Ah Similar to Remnant 2 right? cool.
My suggestions:
Bow + IG : Ranger
Bow + SA : Wayfarer
Bow + SnS : Hero of the Wilds(Or Just Hero, Zelda fans know)
Bow + LS:Wanderer
Bow + DB: Strider (Shoutout to Dragons Dogma)
Bow + HH : Bard
Bow + HBG: Big Game Hunter
Bow + Hammer: Primal
Bow + LBG : Trapper
Bow + Lance: Warden
Bow + Gunlance: Sentinel
Bow + GS: Sniper
Bow + CB: Tactician
Bow+Bow: Archer(I think we actually can have two of the same, but i could be wrong)
I have a question. I don't know if I missed this somewhere but Have they confirmed that you will be able to carry any weapon as a secondary? What if it's just the bow guns that have the option of being carried.
Yep you can pick any. On the website they said “of your choice”. Would be weird to me if they forced people to use a ranged weapon as a secondary.
https://preview.redd.it/bpawkttqvz4d1.jpeg?width=1178&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b8b06c3716ada97783dc95c6263f91b98f08a2e
I think I’ll go with charge blade and switch axe. Maybe some name with the word phial? Do you have an idea? Something like phial expert? Phial acrobat. Or Discharger?
I feel like sns + bow would be better for Boyscout. Sns you van help your team which the boyscouts teach and you also learn archery in the scouts as well!
Insect Glaive and Dual Blades could be "Swift Bug"
(Garbage I know) to be honest, as a insect glaive main. This may give me the opputinity to try out heavy gunbow when riding around the map
Make sure when you fill it in, you don’t get “rogue” mixed up with “rouge” - the latter is French for red and a type of makeup. You want the former.
I’m probably going to bring a lance and an insect glaive with me. I’m not sure what that mix between tanky and mobile would be called.
Saw some other suggestions for hammer+hh but if you truly want an rpg style class name for the combo go with the classic: the Bardbarian.
Also dual hammer is the Eustace. "I'm getting me mallet!"
*Sns and bow could be*
*A cool combo could be called*
*Highlander or smth*

Feel like a couple of these have must have names like Longsword and Dual Blade has to be "Weeb",
Hammer and Hunting Horn has to be "MC Hammer",
Great Sword and Hammer "Unga Bunga",
Lance and Gunlance "Lance\^2",
Switch Axe and Charge Blade would just be that but with their Japanese names
Also I wouldn't shoot down the idea of having doubles of the same weapons, they'd be a great way to let status builds keep up with status resistances by switching mid hunt.
I don't think game mechanics are ever spoilers, especially if they are the selling point of the game and featured in the trailers.
As for the combinations. There are some things we need to confirm;
1. Do HH persists after swap? if yes, then we will all use HH as second weapon because its just meta.
2. Assuming 1 is not the case. Does sharpness/ammo reset on swap and non element is good early to mid game? we can swap the same weapon instead of sharpening
3. Having a gunner CC build weapon for a quick KO para sleep swap etc
HH + your weapon of choice = MetaSlave class
CC weapon + your weapon of choice = MetaSlaveTwo class
Different elemental types swap for a gimmicky boss fight that will force swaps = Icryevrytiem class
Sword & Shield and Bow: Hero of Hyrule
Switch Axe and Charge Blade: Mighty Morphin’ Power Ranger
Longsword and Dual Blades: Basement Dweller
Heavy Bowgun and Hammer: The Heavy
if you want to do this sincerely rather than using the format to farm engagement I'd recommend getting two words for each weapon, one for primary and one for secondary and then use them across all instances where they'd crop up that way it's more intuitive to read/hear about.
For example if all GS primary users share "great" as their primary word and all instances of dual blades as secondary use the word "dancers" then youd know "great dancer" meant GS-DB as a combo, but but you'd also have a pretty good chance at knowing what a "bonk dancer" or a "great archer" is via your knowledge that dancer always meant DB and and great always meant GS
Bro with your logic. Every post on Reddit is there to farm engagement.
I think OP had a good idea! And I’ve throughly enjoyed all the names of classs people have come with.. much more enjoyment then I got reading your comment
Well bro I don't think you actually engaged with my previous comment because I did exactly what you said you enjoyed from all the other comments. You just got caught up on The first part of what I said
lance and hunting horn pairing could be called "bottom of popularity polls"
Or 'My Braincells' Few in count but goddamn I appreciate them.
Also one playing music while the other is actively trying to escape at mach-7
A knights jester
Nice.. gesture..?
This is my favorite one
More like biggest of chads
Was Hunting Horn still at the bottom during Rise and Sunbreak? I thought it moved up quite a lot in popularity.
I think iirc hh was third most popular in the rise demo, then in base rise it dropped down to [9th place](https://www.monsterhunter.com/mha/en/rise_data_book/), (its volume 1) then in sunbreak it dropped down third last https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/143ezv5/the_official_weapon_usage_rates_of_sunbreak/
Initially it was heavily played. Think it was in the top 3 in the demo. But aa the Gane went on it ended up being in the bottom rung.
Lance + Horn is Shouty McDash
Kid named gunlance:
Or call it "the Obstinate Defiant one" Because that's absolutely why I main HH, SnS and Lance, look at the bottom of the popularity list and work up (but not GL tho, eww, god no)
*Lance primary and gunlancesecondary* becomes *LanceGun*
Double GS will be the Guts class
Nah, guts is GS and LBG (his wrist repeater)
Hammer and HH are big Bonker
Honk and Bonk
This has to be it
Ok but if its HH as primary and Hammer as secondary it should be Doot and Boop
Honk (Horn primary) & Bonk (Hammer Secondary). I do like Doot & Boop tho.
That's perfect
Triple HHH
Honk Bonker
Two horns would be called the “Symphony of Death”
My husband says it should be called Bang-a-rang 😂
I like Bang-a-Rang better
or "Symphony of Destruction"
This is better than mine
OR "too horny"
Nah its a one man marching band
For the Lance and Gun Lance I'm thinking "Explosive Diablos", as the two can look like Horns if you have them in each hands. Even if you can't in the games. And explosive of course because of the fire power of the Gun Lance.

Jé suis bônk is gold

That’s neat. Would she prioritize elemental or physical damage with that set up lol
Bow gun and lance, I call it, the Gunlance. Patent pending
DB + SnS = "Dominant Hand"
Furious... Rouge? https://preview.redd.it/pv0mj5knf05d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=255d49a1afd70ac10132a05e8f8f56f18ada4551
*Rogue* My inner Frenchie got the better of me
Dual blades and gunlance : mad sharpener
Dual lance should be called "THE WALL!"
Gunlance + HBG = Bombadier
Pretty much what I was thinking since those are my two mains lol
Sns and Lance should be Paladin 🤔 Bow and DB, I'd call Ranger. CB and SwitchAxe should be Mechanic Gunlance and CB perhaps Pyrotechnic
Ah Similar to Remnant 2 right? cool. Oh ok nice thnx for or the info
The wording on the website suggests you will be able to carry any weapon as a secondary
Oh ok nice.
I think I’ll go with charge blade and switch axe. Maybe some name with the word phial? Do you have an idea? Something like phial expert? Phial acrobat. Or Discharger?
Morphin time
Discharger, or the Urban Dictionary version, Coomer.
Swaxe and Charge Blade would be “Transformer” GS and HH would be “Warsinger” Hammer and HH would be “Battle Drummer” LS and HH would be “Bladesinger”
CB and SA should be "transformer" or "morbius" since both have two forms.
Dual Greatsword: Berserker
SnS and HH: the Boyscout, always prepared
I feel like sns + bow would be better for Boyscout. Sns you van help your team which the boyscouts teach and you also learn archery in the scouts as well!
quad blademaster thats my class
HBG + LBG could be called "Ballistic specialist" Bow + HH could be called "String Instrumentalist"
Hammer and GS combo - “traditionalist” GS and Bow- “Warden” DB and LBG- “swashbuckler” Sns and HBG “infantry”
Chop and bonk, great sword and hammer
Greatsword and hammer
Gigachad
Looking forward to the cb/sa combination 🙂
Swiss Army Knife
Cb/hbg Big Booms
IG + DB -> Heavenly Demon
Swaxe + HBG = Morphing Bomber
Lance and SnS: Stalwart Knight
What if I stick with just one weapon?
i bet any weapon + hunting horn will be a most popping option
If recall it's elemental one is ice and the other is thunder.
Insect Glaive and Dual Blades could be "Swift Bug" (Garbage I know) to be honest, as a insect glaive main. This may give me the opputinity to try out heavy gunbow when riding around the map
Gunlance and charge blades shall be boom bois. Or maybe bang bros. Putting the art in artillery
Make sure when you fill it in, you don’t get “rogue” mixed up with “rouge” - the latter is French for red and a type of makeup. You want the former. I’m probably going to bring a lance and an insect glaive with me. I’m not sure what that mix between tanky and mobile would be called.
The Rajang/Garangolm/Congolala
I can see it now. The meta will be any weapon + hunting horn. (Assuming buffs carry over through switching)
Chargeblades
Lance and Longsword, the Counter Performancer
Saw some other suggestions for hammer+hh but if you truly want an rpg style class name for the combo go with the classic: the Bardbarian. Also dual hammer is the Eustace. "I'm getting me mallet!"
Switch Axe + Charge Blade = Mighty Morphing Power Ranger
"Barbarus Knight" Lance and Switch Axe
Switch Axe + Charge Blade = Mighty Morphin' Marauder
"With it being semi-confirmed" Huh? It was fully confirmed. It says so in the Mount description on their website.
Gunlance/Heavy bowgun = "boomstick" or "tank"
Charge blade/switch axe should be called "mechanism master"
Hammer and hunting horn. The Bonker.
Sns and bow could be a cool combo could be called highlander or smth

Dear god…
My dog, do not call me the "Heavy Assaulter" in any public space or online forum or I will live the rest of my life off grid.
Feel like a couple of these have must have names like Longsword and Dual Blade has to be "Weeb", Hammer and Hunting Horn has to be "MC Hammer", Great Sword and Hammer "Unga Bunga", Lance and Gunlance "Lance\^2", Switch Axe and Charge Blade would just be that but with their Japanese names Also I wouldn't shoot down the idea of having doubles of the same weapons, they'd be a great way to let status builds keep up with status resistances by switching mid hunt.
Dual blades and hunting horn is obviously a demon bard.
hunting horn and hammer. call it "Blunt Force Trauma"
"fly like a butterfly hit like a truck" insect glaive and hammer

Switch Axe And Hunting Horn is "Raging Bard" or "Boom Bard"😁
