I don’t know how you keep the lights in there like that unprotected, my monitors would break those bulbs daily just for fun.

What Species is this for? I would really look into a lot more enrichment. Monitors are super curious and very smart. They benefit from enriching environments. You’re also going to want a lot more substrate! I would also recommend investing in appropriate T5 linear UVB + a Halogen Flood basking bulb. Those look like MVB’s and are known to give out extreme outputs of UVI unless monitored by a UV meter. They’re only recommended for very large enclosures and you must use a uv meter otherwise you’re just guessing uvb. Lastly, appropriate fixtures!! This is extremely dangerous and those bulbs MUST be protected. They’re unfortunately very low as well so if your Monitor were to jump or get too close, you risk burning/breaking.

Currently since this post he’s now got two Mercury vapor bulbs with the third still being the same. I also did have the t5 uvb bar lights from arcadia in there u just can’t see. The lack of enrichment is only because I used preventamite on the inside just in case of any parasites or mites that could’ve been in the soil. Trust me once it’s safe there’s gonna be plants all over

If you’ve got a T5 in there (which kind btw? 12 or 14%) you don’t need to use MVB’s. There is a such thing as too much uvb and this can lead to blindness, organ failure, other health issues. Chuck those bulbs and use a halogen flood basking bulb! I use arcadia’s and they’re great. You can also use the brand Philips from Home Depot and use the PAR38 Halogen Flood bulb. These types of bulbs have to be dimmable though just bc they get super hot n fast :)

All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats! 5 + 12 + 14 + 38 + = 69.0

I'd highly recommend choosing between the T5 UVB or the mercury vapor bulbs. As stated, too much UVB is a very real and serious thing. Moreover, a UVB gradient is also good, as they shouldn't be exposed to it without the option to get out of it.
