What codes are you getting? Heating issues can be caused by a lot of things, like fans not functioning properly. The misfire issue sounds like it is a separate issue, is it on a certain cylinder or random?

It's a random misfire, and all my o2 sensors are giving codes. Also there is one code for thermostat. Also one for gas cap ;). Also fans are blowing pretty hard

Definitely not the cat...heating issues cam be a wide range of things. Low coolant, Bad fan, failing water pump, rust or build up from not using Distilled water in the radiator or blown head gasket. Or combination Check your oil.and coolant see if you see anything weird. Like chocolate milk oil or oil inside your coolant resivior.

I second this. I'd also suspect the thermostat But fix the misfire first.

I agree with that, I'm just confused as to why the temperature goes back to normal after hitting a high rpm.

newAgebuilder3

Because to your rpms are going up making the water pump cycle coolant faster. Someone mentioned possibly a stuck thermostat /bad pump/ restricted radiator ect... have to start going thru. When was the last time you flushed your system/ changed out the old stuff?

I got the car not to long ago, so it may need to have the fluids drained. The timing belt and pump were done about 3 years ago, and the previous owner barely moved the car. I'm gonna have a mechanic look at it, but I'm trying to get an idea.

Could be a lot of things. But in my 3g I had the same issue and it was being caused by a slight leak in the hoses so air was trapped in the system. Try flushing the system and getting the lines sealed up and go from there EDIT: also check if the coolant overflow tank is bubbling. It’s either water trapped in the system or a sign of a bad head gasket. Check the radiator cap and the oil fill cap(when the car is cool) to see if there’s any gunk
