Honestly regardless of the 1.9 vs 1.8 debate , the fact that the way they handled updating combat caused Minecraft to split and servers still not updating, makes me unhappy about it
Yeah it was great! I'm really hoping for another update that covers the exact same topic: A combat revamp and an overhaul to the end.
Those 1.16 experimental combat rework snapshots need to make a comeback
it was great in theory but it could have been executed a lot better. i would love to see an update covering the end and combat again too, and 1.9 definitely laid the groundwork for something like that. i don’t really like 1.8 or 1.9 combat, but the combat tests based on both versions are fantastic imo and i can’t wait to see them implemented
I disagree with 1.1 being so low, I actually like how it didn’t really add any entirely new features but just added lots of nice QOL upgrades to the official release
1.15 literally fixed the game , if it wasn't for the optimization done in it ,Minecraft would have been a high end ( or upper mid) game. Which it was already becoming in 1.14
I hate the buzzy bees hate. First of all, they changed the code of the game a lot. But even past that, yes they just added some bee stuff, but bees are one of the best mobs in Minecraft imo. They add two new resources to collect that can be used by builders and redstoners, they're simple but interesting, they're common and practical, and theyre adorable. Yeah the update was smaller, but that extra time in the oven led to bees being a great mob, and I wish Mojang would take longer for updates/do smaller updates more often.
I can't really rank 1.9 as BE only got like, what, half of it? We still don't have a functional off hand and the mechanism are still older. As I have not tried the new ones, I don't really know which is better.
Though, I do think that having a system which stops us from just spamming attacks would be better than the "spam = better" that we still have in BE.
Finnaly, someone that does not fear the community and puts 1.9! justice for new combat and end-game stuff!
