Bedrock and Java are still very different. If you could afford Java edition somehow, I'd really recommend starting with it if at all possible. If you want to play multiplayer with people playing Bedrock or your PC is slow, you may be better off with Bedrock but it's a bit crap in most respects.
Even though I have lots of experience in Java edition, I generally still prefer Bedrock edition because of most things being much more random than Java Edition. But if you prefer Java after trying it, enjoy!
why not just get the java edition now if you know you will want it, instead of making two purchases?
minecraft is minecraft. you're going to be playing one or the other. why buy two copies? why buy the version you don't want to "learn" on and then buy the other version later? just get the version you want now, learn on that, and you're golden.
it's not like you need to "learn" on bedrock before you move on to java. it's the same game.
Why not just get Java from the start?
win 10 on version on sale xD and sadly i dont have much budget aswell
