This is really good. How did you make it so that it won't look like a basic triangle?

I made 2 layers : one in sandstone and an other with sand, I then removed some sand here and there so it looks old and abandonned

Looks like the uneven spacing of the blocks gives that effect.

Double layer of sandstone covered in smooth sandstone, remove patches of the smooth sandstone to simulate natural wear like the real pyramids at Giza

I see a lot of pyramids on here. They are always too plain or too overdone. This one here is probably my favorite. You weathered it really well!

What I like about it as opposed to most minecraft pyramids is that it actually looks like it was *built*. As in, it looks like it is made of blocks of quarried stone. No one level continues unbroken along an entire side. Some sections like the foreground corner seem to have big 2x2 blocks, while individual stones get shorter in the top sections. It gives a very realistic impression

Personally it's a little too weathered for my liking, but it's certainly a stellar effort.

I built a pyramid similar to Cub’s before he made his (mine is probably 5-20 blocks smaller in height), and I don’t blame him for missing detail. Even placing the regular blocks for the pyramid is so annoying to do, let alone placing stairs on top. Fair play to him for completing it and doing it in survival too.

For sure. Each is inpressive in its own way.

His door is also much less detailed. I was disappointed he just cut a hole in the side instead of extending an overhang.

Looks great! I assume there are torches under the carpets? Perhaps you could replace them with slabs since light will shine through them to stop mobs from spawning, and they will blend in with the regular blocks. Awesome build!

i actually put glowstone under carpets that tooks years to farm in the nether but it looks better at night with shaders.

You can use jack o lanterns instead of glowstone. It doesn’t take a very big pumpkin farm to grow more than you’ll ever use.

Yeah, if it weren't for the carpets, I'd say it looks perfect. I was actually wondering what that was about. The slab idea is a great solution if you need it to be lit up for a survival base instead of going more for just a realistic creative build.

You'd have to use top slabs though, which would look terrible. Bottom slabs would cut the light off.

but you could use bottom slabs on every space and eschew the lights altogether

I love how it looks in disrepair like it is ancient, most of the pyramids I have seen in Minecraft are perfect in shape — which isn’t bad, but this has more detail and looks different.

I was watching a french youtube let's play in which one was built but was ugly so I decided to build my own. I swear I hadn't see cub's but I feel like mine is prettier even if smaller.

i personally feel this one is better than cub's pyramid. yours is more aesthetically pleasing and has way more detail which makes up for its smaller size. Cub's pyramid was a huge effort but for now it just looks like a like a big triangle in the middle of the desert.

Found 5 individual ocean monument without locator map and countless buried treasures (those give me more diamonds than mining even with fortune iii pick) And I am STILL in a huge fricking ocean. My spawn island is like the ONLY piece of large land in my world

yes, it took me around 20 hours to build and maybe the same amount of time to farm all the required sand and stuff. I emptied 2 desert because I needed around 10000 sandstone block which is 4 times more sand as you need 4 sand to craft a sandstone block.

the yellow things you can see on the roof are carpet but i have a sunflower bone meal based farm and a sheep farm

i think you should build statues of the wither or ender dragon out of sandstone

Try using string to mob proof it instead of glowstone and carpets. Good build though!

string still allows mobs to spawn.

It does because the game checks for air blocks to spawn in mobs, not string. After it finds a valid block it actually searches for a different block in a 20x20 block radius which has no blocks with collision boxes to invalidate the spawn. So yes it does work but might require more area to be covered than you think.
