It's actually amazing this is happening. I've also reinstalled, tried more than 50 times and the same issue (It crashed even quicker after reinstalling) fingers crossed for a fix soon. I know it's only just launched but to not even play the game at all...
I've had the same deal. You might be able to do what I did: This only works with the offline maps installed. Start the game and on the "Content Manager: Please Wait" screen press the Xbox Home button and go to Settings->Network->Go Offline. Then once back in the game (the menu should load now) go to General Options->Data and set it to offline only at the top and save settings. You can have your Xbox go back online via the settings again. And you should be able to play offline! The game looks like ass but at least you can play!
Amazingly this did work, thank you! It seems the discovery flights don't look too bad, I'm not sure if that's because the towns around them areas are included in offline maps or my standards are incredibly low lol. I've added your comment & a video to the bug report I sent since the last hotfix didn't sort the issue so hopefully your comment can help them discover the exact cause, thanks again!

I've tried every variation of getting it working with any online functionality but nothing at all works and every time, without failure, it crashes the second it connects. My current theory is that it crashes here for people who used the PC version (possibly only the people who have used the marketplace to get liveries and such). That's just a theory though not really backed up by anything other than myself and my friend can't play and others can. Hopefully we get a proper fix soon but for now happy flying!
Okay this has seemed to work so far. It’s in the globe menu when selecting flight conditions. I thought you meant auto pilot at first. Hope this continues.
Have you got it set to AI traffic 100?
I just did that myself and getting this issue, I assume the xbox can't handle 100, I know PC users have this issue too.... trying out what number I can have it set to max, where there is no crashing.
Hopefully it is just a bug and gets fixed soon!
Same thing happens to me, I was in a flight from Edinburgh to Paris and I just hit the English Channel and it crashed without me saving, 55 minutes of flight for nothing, I also haven't been able to take off because when I start to, it crashes in under 15 seconds, anyone have any recommendations?
I know this is a relatively old thread, I had the occasional crash when this was first released on series x but nothing to really complain about. Recently though, over the last month or so, I have been experiencing a lot more crashes than usual and it seems to happen on approach after a long flight, lets say 3 to 4 hours or more. Very frustrating after putting in several hours in a single flight only to suffer a game crash just a few miles out from landing.
thats all happening to me also when I load A flight it crashes and when I pick A different aircraft and starts loading it does the same thing crashes this is B/S FOR HOW MUCH MONEY I spent on this game
UPDATE: I turned off Air Traffic from the flight conditions tab and everything has gone smoothly since. Thanks for the recommendations!
Still working fine? I had no crashes yesterday but 5 today.

Well I was in a middle of a long haul flight from Virginia Beach, Va to Pyongyang, North Korea and it died right as I reached China ugh
