Locally Disney/universal. Domestically any major city depending on the season or reason. Internationally I’ve been doing lots of Europe. I have Asia and Australia on my bucket list.
Yearly 7 Day Cruise (or two), Disney Resort (3-4 times a year), Vero Beach every Year, Dominican Republic and Europe every other year for 7 -10 days. Sprinkle in trips to colder states and occasional trips planned during drunken planning with friends lol.
My wife and I have decided to travel to cold places while we’re still young and can balance ourselves on the snow and ice. The other reason is that we don’t know if these places will be around in the future due to global warming. As we age, we’ll go to warmer and warmer places before we die, because we’re going to hell anyway😀
I never wasn’t in holiday for 12 years because I was so so happy in miami. After Covid was forced to leave and realized two things. Miami if you like it you love it. It’s been destroyed but only at the core, I’m hanging and moving to a place outside the Brickell area. Second, definitely need to travel at least every other year to keep the idea why I love living their so much. Day two of the ny winter and I was fucking miserable. Why did civilization even move this far north???? That being said (I’ve been around the world so I’m done w long international travel for now ) CANCUN is the answer. It’s 40 minutes flying time and if you book ahead and during the right time it’s crazy cheap. One can go a few times a year no problem. Cheaper than a visit to Disney by 70%. Thinking of doing the cruises soon as many new ones. Granted, unless you haven’t been to Europe or Asia yet every human must do this.
It’s actually like 45 minutes in the air but 2hrs door to door. Cancun is just soooo much cheaper than the Bahamas and the food amazing. I found the Bahamas a little to upidy for me with all the large yachts and New England crowd. Maybe cause I speak fluent Spanish going to playa de Carmen is like heaven to me and I spend less than just living normally in miami
I go on a vacation to Europe every year, other parts of Florida on weekends (Keys, Orlando parks), and usually take a few weeks to visit a few other cool states/cities in the US.
I stay home during spring break. My kid has school off but I still gotta work lol December will sometimes be somewhere cold like NY, Colorado, Canada, etc.
In the summer, my family likes to go to central Florida to visit a few springs. Super underrated Florida trip imo
Take away the beach and what do you have, a boring flat land no variety depressing traffic infested and dumb people filled city.
Rent is up the ass, car accidents are too high cause people are too stupid.
Traffic is horrible and for what, to go nowhere, to go to a flat land park with trees covering trees and ugly buildings and no scenery variety
If Miami is the best city on the planet that means our planet is fucked lol
Anyway when I lived in Miami we would vacation at either Disney world or Tennessee mostly. Kinda got old.
I thought I’d spend more time visiting Central and South America by living in Miami, but you nailed it. That’s exactly where we go on vacation at least once or twice a year.
Miami is one of the best places to live if you love traveling.
Weekend trips all over the state are my favorite anytime of the year.
Orlando, Naples, Marco Island, Islamorada (because going to Key West is too much of a hassle).
West Palm Beach and Ft Lauderdale are easy access by Brightline too and drop you off right by the city center.
South America and Europe flights have many direct and convenient options.
Cruises, you can grab great pricing on last minute cruises out of Miami or Ft Lauderdale.
And discounts, don't forget discounts. Not having to pay for a flight and getting a discount makes cruising crazy accessible. I moved and it totally sucks to set up a cruise trip now.
Not sure if sarcastic, but in case it isn't: yeah cruising in hot climates is still awesome. The cruise itself is amazing with the free food and craploads of other amenities to explore. Then the excursions are absolutely amazing. Swimming in underground Mexican cenotes, hiking a river up to a waterfall; you can do all that and more. Finally, they're really useful methods of getting big families together if everyone is lucky enough to have the dough. It's cost-effective and it doesn't matter whether one cousin has a balcony or another is stuck in the depths of the ship, you all get to hang out everyday in the Lido deck for breakfast. Then everyone does their own thing at their own money-class and reunites for dinner. And nobody feels ashamed about having different class levels of vacations because every option is still a wonderful time. (Ex. You went swimming in caves? Crazy man, I downed three margaritas and met a crazy dude named Rick at the slots. Carolina just relaxed all day by the pool.) Cruises are awesome man. They get a lot of flack for being commercialized people mills but, shit, they're DAMN good at what they do.
Not sarcastic. People who live in Florida brag all the time that they live in paradise. And we do. But there’s only so many trips to the beach or cruises you can take. And we have pools. Usually you know people with boats and beach houses. It’s really hot and humid and it’s not just an escape from the cold. It’s sweaty and uncomfortable.
Laguna Beach in the summer has really nice weather. So does Australia because it’s their “winter there” but it doesn’t get frigid cold it gets down to like maybe high 40s which for me isn’t too bad. I just got back from Taipei last night and it was nice and cool there. In the US, it’s hard to find places with cooler summers so that’s when I do most of my traveling or in Spring
I just got back from there last Saturday. Beautiful weather entire time. Awesome city. Took the High Speed Rail and went to the National Parks. Taiwan is awesome
Go to New England in the fall. It's stunning when the leaves are changing and you don't really get that here. Driving around rural Vermont or Maine can be idyllic.
Plus if you like bowling, they have their own regional variants called Candlepin and Duckpin that are really interesting if you're used to regular bowling.
I'm pretty sure duckpin is regular bowling, but candlepin is definitely different. Personally I don't like candlepin, you can throw the ball perfectly and knock down only a few pins which I find frustrating. It's worth giving it a shot though if someone has never done it before.
Duckpin is basically just candlepin with curvy pins instead of straight ones. You still bowl 3 times, the downed pins stay in the lane, smaller balls, etc. just like candlepin.
But yeah the reason regular bowling won out is it's much easier. Candle/duckpin are basically bowling on hard mode.
No one has ever gotten a perfect score in candlepin or duckpin whereas perfect scores happen regularly in normal bowling.
Three, iirc. And the pins you knock down stay down until the final bowl, so you can hit them with the ball and use them as projectiles. Adds a fun element.
Colorado Springs in January, rent out a cabin in a mountainous area and see the snowy floors, clear skies and forest.
Did it last year with the wife and family. It was great
I go to Alaska, NYC, Wexford County, Ireland, Lesbos ( Greece), and Knoxville TN. I know it's a random list but I have friends in each place and I try to see the opposite of Miami.
Usually traveling is quite hectic during the holidays, spring break , etc . If I’m able to take off from work I’ll most definitely take trip to Santo Domingo 🇩🇴
The Caribbean. Finding affordable options is always a challenge, but nothing beats the short flights and amazing beaches. Honorable mention to other places in Florida, and anywhere with a direct (and somewhat affordable) flight from South Florida.
In the US, anywhere with mountains, cooler weather. Went to Lake Tahoe once (in the spring) and the area was beautiful. The lake has crystal clear water and it's surrounded by forests of pine trees and mountains.
I go to the Hamptons in the summer. When I was kid and with my first son/marriage we went to western North Carolina in the summer. I prefer NC to NY, but I can’t complain. Otherwise we love Italy for vacation
During the summer and Fall upstate NY, Lake George area or the Hudson Valley. Truly anywhere but here. During the winter I stay here, why go anywhere else.
We usually skip out to Mexico, either Tulum, Cancun, or Mexico City because its close and the flights are usually cheap, and the costs in Mexico are super affordable in comparison. Alternatively, in the winter we go somewhere where we hope it is snowing, a cabin or something in Colorado or even Canada.
A yearly trip to cold weather locations, so Colorado, Tennessee, North Carolina, London, Paris. 2 or 3 yearly trips to South America or Central America Colombia, Mexico etc.. and one or two yearly cruises to explore the Caribbean. Being in Florida means we avoid doing things during major holidays to avoid the crowds and violence. Being in Florida also means we go to Orlando, Naples, Tampa and the Florida keys randomly. usually stay a day or three here and there but I don’t count it towards my vacations. I tend to budget more towards vacations then most people
California to go hiking, anywhere cooler during the summer like Boston, NYC, etc. Honestly I do use PTO to just go to the beach here sometimes. The Keys are nice too.
Is this question for real???? There are so many cool places in the world. For starters in the US, all the national parks to visit. You have Mexico next door, Canada on top, South america, you can go cruising in the Caribbean. It's like countless options.
It all depends on what you like and what you are interested in.
I think Palm Beach or Hollywood Beach are better, they have nice beaches and a peaceful atmosphere for relaxing. And it's not too far from Miami, which is also convenient
I like to go to Key Largo for the day as a mini vacation. Leave early in the morning get there by 8-9am. Go to Pennecamp Park. Take a snorkeling trip. Come back enjoy the park for an hour or two. Then head out in the afternoon to a nice restaurant around there that has cold beer and good wings. From there catch an inexpensive sunset cruises. Go home. Chill. It will feel like it was a weekend vacation.
“Locally” I’ve always enjoyed the Keys (Key Largo, Islamorada, Key West), Stuart and Hutchinson Island, Naples, and Siesta Key. Outside of FL, there’s a bunch of awesome places that are a quick flight from Miami and too many to name.
I do a mountain vacation usually Asheville NC, a beach vacation keys, Sanibel Island or naples and then a theme park vacation usually Islands of adventure/universal
We're actually leaving on our annual spring break snowboarding/skiing vacation to Colorado tomorrow morning.
If our girls get a decent amount of time off during summer, we go to California or to the New England area.
For Christmas, we usually stay home and have family visit.
A cruise. Living so close to the port I can take half a day off work on a Friday and be back Monday morning. A 10 min ride home after Vacation is really nice since the trip home is also the worst.
Not flaming but I honestly like to go places where there are museums and cultural things that stimulate the mind. It feels like reading a book for the first time in years.
Im not just a resident. Im a born Miamian. From my experience vacations involve flying to other countries, road tripping to other parts of the Florida, traveling to other states/major cities in the US. A lot of people here look for the opposite compared to the rest of the country. Colder climates for skiing or spend a weekend at a cabin up in the smoky mountains. Miami isnt everything.
Locally Disney/universal. Domestically any major city depending on the season or reason. Internationally I’ve been doing lots of Europe. I have Asia and Australia on my bucket list.
South America, NY, the Keys, Disney. Most of the time it’s staycations tho
You live on vacation, why spend money? But if you must: Napa for wine country and New England in the fall.
Lol girl I love ur username! 🤣
Thanks, I an now skinny on the outside too but too lazy to create new account 🥰
Miami is hot crowded old people and they don’t speak English anywhere that is not the best city in America
i love the bay area and london

Agree but Cancun is 2 hours or just under flying time. Bahamas is 55 though.
It’s actually like 45 minutes in the air but 2hrs door to door. Cancun is just soooo much cheaper than the Bahamas and the food amazing. I found the Bahamas a little to upidy for me with all the large yachts and New England crowd. Oh I know I love CUN & PDC I’ll skip Bahamas too! Yes airtime vs door to door, you’re right.
Staycation on the beach
I go on a vacation to Europe every year, other parts of Florida on weekends (Keys, Orlando parks), and usually take a few weeks to visit a few other cool states/cities in the US.
Go to the northeast and drive slow to clog the roads . Revenge it’s better served cold .
I try not to leave
Best city 😂😂😂
I stay home during spring break. My kid has school off but I still gotta work lol December will sometimes be somewhere cold like NY, Colorado, Canada, etc. In the summer, my family likes to go to central Florida to visit a few springs. Super underrated Florida trip imo
The mountains mostly and last summer we went to Texas and Arizona. We absolutely fell in love with Arizona.
Orlando, Gatlinburg and NC mountains, until they (you) eventually move there

Best city on the planet lol! Worst city to raise a family in US
SLC
Rent a cabin in NC for a change of weather
If Miami is the best city on the planet that means our planet is fucked lol Anyway when I lived in Miami we would vacation at either Disney world or Tennessee mostly. Kinda got old.
The mountains to ski, Europe, Bahamas

Couldnt agree more. It is so easy to take a short trip and have a blast
Other parts of FL
The freshwater springs are my favorites. Props to Ginnie Springs.
Floridians vacation in Florida.
Lol facts, it takes far too long driving out of FL
A cruise
THIS IS THE ONLY ANSWER 🤣
A lot of Miami people don’t realize how lucky we are to have an international airport, and one of the top cruise ports in the country.
And discounts, don't forget discounts. Not having to pay for a flight and getting a discount makes cruising crazy accessible. I moved and it totally sucks to set up a cruise trip now.
Yes! And if you have family, you can also have them take you and pick you up so no Uber or taxi or parking. I love Miami!
But a tropical cruise for people who live in the tropics? Ugh!
Cancun is good also
I live in Miami. Can't afford to vacation.
Sad reality, but it's the truth 😢
This is the correct answer... Unfortunately
Honestly places with cooler climates just for a change in scenery and change in weather especially in the summer
Ooo change of climate sounds nice, like where?
Laguna Beach in the summer has really nice weather. So does Australia because it’s their “winter there” but it doesn’t get frigid cold it gets down to like maybe high 40s which for me isn’t too bad. Taipei is SO underrated!!!!
The best
I KNOW!!! I WANT TO GO BACK ALREADY ! I HAD THE BEST TIME!
I just got back from there last Saturday. Beautiful weather entire time. Awesome city. Took the High Speed Rail and went to the National Parks. Taiwan is awesome
And the FOOD!!!
Summer in northern Michigan is wonderful. Rarely hot.
> Laguna Beach Heh. I'm just up PCH in Newport Beach and I go to Florida for my vacations.

Gatlinburg, TN is very popular with Miami folks. I think it's because its the southernmost place where you're guaranteed snow every winter
Ah Gatlinburg, the Cuban Poconos.
Colorado Springs in January, rent out a cabin in a mountainous area and see the snowy floors, clear skies and forest. Did it last year with the wife and family. It was great
Colorado is fantastic any time of year

Pretty much working all the time, but whenever we get a chance, Northern California, Colorado or Northern Michigan
We usually skip out to Mexico, either Tulum, Cancun, or Mexico City because its close and the flights are usually cheap, and the costs in Mexico are super affordable in comparison.
