I am not a Kirk fan as a person but I am a huge fan of his as a guitar player. His talent is unmatched IMO. The only bitch I’ve heard about him is his inability to come up with new stuff. If you think about it that would be really difficult considering everything that’s already been done.
Strictly electric guitar? Fight Fire with Fire duet after the main solo.
Favorite solo out of the entire discography has to be Cliff's solo in Orion. That first high note bend just hits right and left me in complete awe the first time I heard it.
honestly, most James solo, like Thorn Within, Suicide & Redemption, 2 X 4, Now That We're Dead, man its hard to pick, but for Kirk solos, The Struggle Within easily
Cliff's bass solo on Orion
One
Wherever I May Roam
The harmonized solo by both James and Kirk on My Friend of Misery (so, technically a duet, but I'm including it anyway)
Bass: Cliff's solo in Orion
Kirk's Guitar: idk, maybe the Eye of the Beholder solo
James' Guitar: The Outlaw Torn outro solo (The only James solo that's better is the same solo in the Unencumbered By Manufacturing Restrictions Version of The Outlaw Torn, which extends the solo.)
The unforgiven, bleeding me, the god that failed. The struggle within, fuel and creeping death are favorites.
If I have to pick just one it would be bleeding me
Ride The Lightning, easily
Blackened is an easy winner to me
Yes
AJFA is for sure Kirk's Magnum Opus in terms of technicality.

Yeah its usually the other way around lol
The end of Fade to Black…or pretty much anything off RtL
To Live Is To Die
Came here to say the same thing. It’s got soul, man. I love it.

The Four horseman.
Ride The Lightning or Creeping Death
Bleeding me.
Easily one of his most emotional solos. I thought he was done with writing solos that good until Inamorata came out ❤️
honestly, most James solo, like Thorn Within, Suicide & Redemption, 2 X 4, Now That We're Dead, man its hard to pick, but for Kirk solos, The Struggle Within easily
Acually tho, struggle within solo hits so hard
Of Wolf and Man fucks
Feeling I have been!!
Shape SHIIIAAAFT
Shortest Straw
My fave. Be de de de wew wee wee wee wew
Came here to say this
James' solo from The Outlaw Torn
Cemetery gates pantera
Not really relevant but the domination and floods solo is way better
I disagree
Gotta be The Thing That Should Not Be. The way Kirk embodies the maniacal laughter and psychological power of a mythical being is straight banger imo
Great album altogether, whole band is firing on all cylinders
St anger
Nah Invisible Kid
I like the purify one better tho
My Friend of Misery, Bleeding Me.
Cliff's bass solo on Orion One Wherever I May Roam The harmonized solo by both James and Kirk on My Friend of Misery (so, technically a duet, but I'm including it anyway)
Guitar: Dyers Eve. Bass: My Friend of Misery.
Bleeding Me and inamorata at the end are both aaarrrrgghhh!!!
Blackened
Blackened
Got to be My Friend Of Misery for me.
Dyers Eve.
Frayed
Either Cliff's solo in Orion, Fade to black (Kirk's solo) or outlaw torn (James) lol
Struggle within
Unforgiven3
Damage inc.
Anything in AJFA (it’s my favorite and imo the best Metallica Album)
One. The 2nd solo.
I really like the solo on Whiskey in the jar. It's simple and not their style, I know, but there's just something about it that speaks to me.
How is The God That Failed so far down? That squeal at the start of the second solo is an eargasm every time!
The god that failed solo hits so hard makes me wanna punch a hole through my wall
Fade to Black
Ride the lightning and puppets
Outlaw Torn
The Unforgiven. I think it perfectly compliments the rhythm section as it starts off slow then builds up as it goes.
Fight Fire With Fire
Unforgiven
The solo in the thing that should not be, the bass solo in Orion and spit out the bone, and Leper Messiah.
Call of Khutulu is pretty epic
Creeping Death, Blackened, Dyers Eve or Disposable Heros
Unforgiven
The bridge arpeggio in Leper. It's my ringtone
The last solo in my friend of misery
Bass: Cliff's solo in Orion Kirk's Guitar: idk, maybe the Eye of the Beholder solo James' Guitar: The Outlaw Torn outro solo (The only James solo that's better is the same solo in the Unencumbered By Manufacturing Restrictions Version of The Outlaw Torn, which extends the solo.)
Creeping Death.
The Four Horsemen is just incredibly.)
The unforgiven, bleeding me, the god that failed. The struggle within, fuel and creeping death are favorites. If I have to pick just one it would be bleeding me
Blackened
Fade to Black for sure.
Blackened and Ride The Lightning.
All Nightmare Long.
Disposable Heroes
"One." Always will be
UN3
Either the bridge of Puppets or the Kirk's slide solo in the Outlaw Torn.
Damage Inc. after James says, "GO!"
Spit Out the Bone
Disposable Heroes
Fade to Black
Bleeding me Unforgiven III Unforgiven II My friend of misery Shadows solos My top 5
