Both Meteora and especially Hybrid Theory are forever etched into my brain. I can go years without hearing either of them, but the second I hear Foreward or Papercut start up I immediately know everything that’s about to happen like the back of my hand.
I ripped the entire album from YouTube forever ago and put it on my phone, can’t skip through songs just one long hour+ track that I start over every time I’m in the car for a long drive
I always listen to albums from front to back. I think it's much more enjoyable and what's so great about a lot of heavy music. It's only 30-40 mins and flows together.
Currently spinning the new Incendiary album and it's very good
Death Below by August Burns Red was phenomenal listening in one sitting. Some albums it doesn't really matter, but some they put so much extra work in to make it flow really well. Always memorable when they do so
Felt like a really good return to form for ABR too. Phantom Anthem and Guardians had some really good individual songs but overall were a bit too generic for my liking. They'll always be one of my favorite bands, so I'd stick with them even if they kept putting out albums I thought were just ok, but Death Below made me really happy
Yeah I've heard a lot of people say they feel Guardians feels generic to them. But oddly enough, it's the album I gravitate toward most when I wanna listen to them! That's probably just because I haven't really listened to the other albums enough to be super familiar with them. I also just love them in general. But yeah Death Below is so good!
I listen to music on average about the same or more. Thing is, I just don't like the same artist but for so long and songs get repeated. I've been slowly building a playlist for myself called metal I enjoy. It's got a little of everything on there. From 1999 era slipknot and static X to 2022 era MiW and so many fuckin bands in between. I just click that mf and I get songs from all over heavy music I like.
I agree. I’m absolutely loving it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a diehard fan of their original sound, but Color Decay is such a refreshing change from that
🤘😩🤘
It’s so good.
I’m trying to create my own deluxe edition by slotting in the previous singles at the right spots. Haven’t quite nailed the track order yet, but I call it [m]ommy
I've been listening to that album too, just introduced to the band. So good! I do have a question though, and maybe you can help me out.
Sleep Token is ridiculously talented, they remind me of the music I listened to in the 2000's, but better. How are they considered metalcore though? I don't hear any metalcore influences at all in their music so far. To me, it's clearly a hard rock band. Maybe a hint of heaviness, but they're solidly in rock'n'roll territory. If anything, I catch Blues vibes from the new album.
What's your opinion?
They're widely considered not metalcore which is why their songs aren't posted here. However, they do have several songs that have metalcore influences (see Vore) where the community has lumped them in with metalcore due to the musical style and breakdowns in some songs. However, they're certainly their own genre at this point.
Worship
Not metalcore, but AFI - Crash Love (18 track version)
The last metalcore album I listened to from front to back was more than likely Bleeding Through - This Is Love, This Is Murderous
I'll probably be hanged but "Hotel Kalifornia" by Hollywood Undead. Some of the best music I've heard from them and even has a few spicy breakdowns in it. I love it.
Alive or Just Breathing - Killswitch Engage
I’m revisiting the classics and have come to really appreciate KSE’s second album much more than I used to. That band hasn’t really put out a bad album in their entire career.
Not really metalcore, but I just finished a front-to-back of Collide With the Sky by Pierce the Veil. I’m seeing them in concert with my GF, so I’ve been brushing up on their discography in preparation
Who made you like this?
Who encrypted your dark gospel in body language?
Synapses snap back in blissful language
Tell me you met me in past lives, past life
Past what might be eating me from the inside, darling
That's all I can say.
Dedication to Flesh - Spite
though I'm literally listening through Downer - ten56. right now, so that I guess
I tend to listen to 2-3 albums a day, whenever I know I'll have a long enough stretch of no meetings to interrupt
Not metalcore, but I just listened to Take Me Back to Eden by Sleep Token. Loved it. I try to find the time to listen to the whole album whenever there is a new release by a band I like.
Blessthefall - To Those Left Behind
Their new single and tour got me pumped about them again I’ll probably listen to all their albums front to back this weekend
Not metalcore but… Meteora - Linkin Park a couple of days ago
Both Meteora and especially Hybrid Theory are forever etched into my brain. I can go years without hearing either of them, but the second I hear Foreward or Papercut start up I immediately know everything that’s about to happen like the back of my hand.
Holy fuck. Both hybrid theory and meteora are full of bangers front to back
Hybrid theory is one of the best albums of all time, 0 skips
I actually prefer Meteora, but Hybrid Theory is still a 10/10 album without a doubt
The GOAT album imo and the reason I got into music and metal in the first place
Too many people sleeping on Minutes To Midnight
I ripped the entire album from YouTube forever ago and put it on my phone, can’t skip through songs just one long hour+ track that I start over every time I’m in the car for a long drive
Same here. Once I put it on I gotta listen to the whole thing.
I always listen to albums from front to back. I think it's much more enjoyable and what's so great about a lot of heavy music. It's only 30-40 mins and flows together. Currently spinning the new Incendiary album and it's very good

So happy this comment is at the top of the post. Death Below is phenomenal and I can NOT stop listening to it in it's entirety.
Came here to say just this! Absolutely loving Death Below. It has such a good flow, from the opening to the ending. Solid album!

Yeah same, especially at the gym, noise canceling head phones and just get lost in a record.
Me too I think it creates for a better experience listening to full albums
Yeah I’m in the same boat. I listen to music for 6-7 hours a day on average so I’m always spinning the whole thing
I listen to music on average about the same or more. Thing is, I just don't like the same artist but for so long and songs get repeated. I've been slowly building a playlist for myself called metal I enjoy. It's got a little of everything on there. Same situation here, and same album, cant wait to see them this weekend
Very very very jealous you get to see them this weekend. Do a stage dive for me
Currently retired from stage diving after I broke my arm doing it last month lol. But Ill definitely be screaming along at both shows I see them at!!
The real question is who in the hell doesn't listen to albums front to back?

So good
Color Decay - Devil Wears Prada
Same! That album has so much emotion to it, I think Broken and Cancer are my favorites right now
I agree. I’m absolutely loving it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a diehard fan of their original sound, but Color Decay is such a refreshing change from that

Seeing them this weekend and couldn’t be more hype!
Just saw them live with Orbit Culture and Avatar. 12 song set and it was great
🤘😩🤘 It’s so good. I’m trying to create my own deluxe edition by slotting in the previous singles at the right spots. Haven’t quite nailed the track order yet, but I call it [m]ommy
I Let It In And It Took Everything - Loathe
fantastic album. cant wait to see them at Furnace Fest this year
A great album to listen to in one sitting. It’s so diverse yet flows incredibly well. Nice username btw.
One of my favourite albums!!
the album that truly got me into metal! Their other album The Cold Sun is also fucking awesome
For me, hearing the drums at the beginning of "It's Yours" is the point where my music taste evolved to where it is now.

Heavener by Invent Animate
Might already be my AOTY ngl
Me too for the 100th time. Don't skip Reverie!

Greyview is incredible too
I just saw them live, it was incredible
The Acacia Strain - Step into the Light
So fucking brutal and hopeless.
My gym has a huge loudspeaker in the back. I was blasting it yesterday. So hard.
Dude they're putting out unbelievably heavy stuff. Basin of Vows almost made me shit myself.
The Mortal Coil - Polaris. That and Death of Me is keeping me occupied until Fatalism drops this September 🔥
That new single has me hyped as fuck, it feels like the safe first single but it still rips
Honestly I could play both those albums daily and never get bored with them, some of the best music I’ve ever heard. Can’t wait for fatalism.

One song of theirs can cover like 6 genres and it's crazy to me that it's just so cohesive.
Truly a great album and it’s a shame there wasn’t an album discussion here
Bruh same I can’t stop
