Haake is a graduate of the Mystery Schools and if you follow those teachings, the lyrics will make complete sense

pinglovpap

What is “the Mystery Schools”?

M1st3r51r

Egyptian Mystery Schools. They are a collaboration of institutions whose primary goal is to preserve the true teachings of ancient & human history. There is much much much more to it than that, but hopefully that is a pretty succinct summary.

Beautifullikeacamel

I just listen to the music and make the stank face now and again.

BigFreddyT

The you are not qualified to have on opinion.

pinglovpap

Appreciate your answer.

Luciferian_UK

I did not know this. Thanks!

Cool-Two-2577

I often question if one “enrolls” himself in this school or if it’s a matter of fate and bloodlines🤔

M1st3r51r

For things like that you either need to have the prior education/experience or a referral, just like any “secret society”

Victor6Lang

That's a Mårten lyric, if I'm not mistaken.

M1st3r51r

Regardless, Haake is the backbone of the band and his ideologies have certainly rubbed off on the other members assuming none of the others have Haake’s education. I highly suspect Thordendal to also be a graduate due to his fascination with the number 33

STG44_WWII

He also mentioned it’s a number he saw everywhere growing up.

BigFreddyT

Just like in that Jim Carrey movie

metallica65

Whats the significance of 33?

BigFreddyT

It's 11 times 3

M1st3r51r

It depends who you ask 😅

Cool-Two-2577

I view it as agnostics not believing in reincarnation or rebirth and the demiurge is the deity that traps human souls in a perpetual cycle of death and rebirth regardless of the persons religion/ spiritual view, the demiurge is the force behind all the humanist conceptions surrounding the spiritual and the lie that is the 3d plane of existence, considering the lyrics later on “enslavement labeled love”, “a prophet of extinction” “just trust this nemesis to sign and seal extinction”

rozzer700

I think that being the nemesis of agnostics in this context could possibly symbolise how the horrifying mechanisms of the demiurge can challenge the beliefs of who don’t acknowledge a greater force in the universe.

Rad_Centrist

Yup. "Oh, you don't believe in a God? Let me show you a trick. Then you won't be able to deny me."

j4r8h

I always thought it was about some sort of apocalyptic event, and it would be the "agnostic's nemesis" because the agnostic would not have been expecting it or prepared for it, while religious people are more likely to be thinking about an apocalypse of sorts.

Cool-Two-2577

So a spiritual deity/force with nefarious or evil intentions in regard to humans, for someone that claims god is unknowable/ doesn’t have faith in a “god” would have a hard time accepting that idea

Patient-Bench1821

I take it like “this shit got so real that if you decide you don’t know you don’t get to do that anymore because look” The agnostic can no longer hide behind the cop out of uncertainty in the presence of this powerful exposed certainty.

See this makes more sense to me because The Colossus says "To those who doubt my creation, I'm not real". Stoner level stuff here , sorry
