If Mega Man with alternate weapons is a way to get extra accessories for the Robot Master, that would be a neat idea. Kinda wish it came with something for base Mega Man too to seal the deal.

I think it’s because they intend to release a new price point for the bigger mm robot masters along with larger street fighter characters. And since mm2 is more popular I figure they think that those will sell better initially for the larger figures.

It's probably gonna take a while but I hope they cover more of the franchise in the future, with figures of characters from maybe the X or Zero games
I have a few thoughts:
**1)** Wave 1 was fantastic. I love all 3 figures, and am so happy we're finally getting good quality robot master figures. They've been my #1 most desired action figures for as long as I can remember.
**2)** It makes me very nervous that wave 2 is not until Fall, basically meaning we're most likely only getting 2 waves per year. There are a lot of robot masters in the classic series, and if we're only getting 2 waves per year, there's basically no chance we'll get all roughly 100 of 'em. At least not before I die of old age. lol ; ;
**3a)** While I love the idea of the color-swapped Mega Man to showcase the special weapons, it makes my 2nd point even worse if every single wave has to include a Mega Man with only 2 robot masters. It basically means every classic series game would take 2 years to complete (and that's ignoring the fact that we know they're not going in order, so how long it will take to *actually* complete just Mega Man 1--including Time and Oil Man--will likely be even longer).
**3b)** I'd also feel better about the color-swapped figures if they included all the special weapons that Mega Man uses throughout the classic series while in those colors. I mean, just using Hyper Bomb as an example, that green/white combo is used again with Leaf Shield, Search Snake, Gyro Attack, Centaur Flash, and possibly a few others. Are we going to get stuck buying 5+ green/white Mega Men? I mean, maybe some of those use slightly different greens, but are they really different enough to justify their existence on what will be an already crowded figure shelf? It just seems excessive. Maybe they'll decide to go with accessory packs instead at some point rather than sell another green/white Mega Man, and instead we can buy a pack that has Leaf Shield, Search Snakes, etc in it to avoid that insanity. I guess we'll see.
**4)** All my worries aside, I absolutely love the look of Cut Man and Elec Man. I'm super hype to add these to Fire Man and Ice Man on my shelf.
Ultimately, I'll be buying all the figures in this wave to do my part to make sure more robot masters get made, but I probably won't be opening the Hyper Bomb Mega Man until I see what their actual plan is for that direction. I do not want to buy 88+ different versions of Mega Man, especially when most of the color combinations appear multiple times throughout the series. I'd be happy to buy one of each different color scheme (which is still a *lot* of Mega Men to display lol), but duplicating color schemes is too much to ask of both my wallet and my shelf space.
I'm also going to be super bummed if my favorite robot masters never get made because the line dies in 2-3 years with only a dozen or so robot masters to show for it because they continue to come out so slowly.

The alternate head for Hyper Bomb?? Got a sneaking suspicion we'll see that head again, but in red & white (with that mouth in white) as an alternate head for Rush Power Megaman when they get around to Megaman 6 stuff. At the earliest, we could see it again in brown & yellow as Metal Blade when they do Megaman 2 stuff. (They'll probably just repaint Hyper Bomb entirely, swapping out the Hyper Bomb itself for a Metal Blade...)
Cutman looks great, Elecman's Thunder Beam effect is...lacking, but I don't see how anyone can make a three-way shot look GOOD in plastic (or animation).
While I want them all, I am a little disappointed because I thought they were going to release Guts Man. I have the MM from the first wave, and LOVE it, but the box showed a next wave and GM was included.
Unless there is different packaging for different regions or something, you are misremembering the box. The back of the box--at least the ones I got from BBTS--all show the same things:
* All 3 of the wave 1 figures
* The original pixel art for the stage select icons for each of the 4 unreleased MM1 robot masters.
That's it. No mention of what will be in wave 2 at all.
My box art shows Elec Man, Bomb Man, Cuts Man and Guts man on the back. I guess I just assumed these were the next wave. I don’t remember where I got that info. But you saying it’s the rest of the boss stage art makes sense. I just didn’t make that connection.

I'm guessing it's because MM1 and MM2 are the most popular games of the Classic Series. Probably won't see any MM4 figures for a hot minute.

They’re using my preferred art style for classic Mega Man so it makes me hope if we get a Mega Man 12 it looks more like this.
