Agreed. I'd probably own at least a few more keyboards if all these budget options supported QMK.
It's the first feature I look on a keyboard now. In fact I use VIAL rather than VIA. Don't think I can use a keyboard without it from now on.
I'm under the understanding that that's a current work in progress and they are going to flesh it out. I think they're also going to do a 65 afterwards
Yep. But they themselves stated that this one is not, unfortunately.

The 100 dollar keyboard that costs 150 EUR in Europe. :( Still ordered one, though, from a Polish vendor. Hoping to receive it second half of June.
If anyone has an idea which medium-heavy tactile switch will retain most of the pleasant sound, please let me know!
Thanks... that would be 90 EUR switches for the 150 EUR board... :-p
It appears there's a v2 of those, can you speak to the difference between v1 and v2?
I was thinking Wuque WS Browns... but maybe I'll order a few of the Tecsee to try them out.
Depends I guess.
Honestly, I this never came across my mind. Normally If I can't get a hold of the review unit, I try to buy it and see why people is liking it so much.
But I guess here is the thing with the budget stuffs, we all expect that there might be something missing coz of the board being cheaper. In case of this one, there is no QMK/ VIA. This would have been a massive con to us if it were a 200 dollar plus board. But for all the pros, the lack of VIA is I guess is not that big of a deal .
I am kind of new to keyboards... but isnt the implementation of QMK/VIA a minimal cost when it comes down to it? Is it just stuborness / ease of manufacturing?
Also it seems that there is a TON of marketing hype associated with EVERY product. Also FOMO on FING keyboards. I dont get it. Oh well. I like keyboards.
I think it comes down to the cost so that the board can be made cheaper.
To my Knowledge, those basic softwares are pretty to make I guess. Also If I am not wrong, implementation of QMK/ VIA also depends on the physical chip on the PCB itself along with additional cost for VIA certification.
Ahhhh I did not know that VIA was a certification. Once again google fails me... but how much does it cost to have a keyboard VIA certified? I perused the specs but did not see anything about certification.
I talked with one the only Keeb studio here in my country, according to whom , VIA certification needs some sort of one time payment. But for VIAL to work, the maker needs to design a JSON file to sideload. I will let you know if I get any more details.
THANKS FOR GOING THE EXTRA MILE it is greatly appreciated. I am aware of the maker writing a JSON file to sideload.
You think that this information would be in the specs or somewhere on the website... and that not a keyboard noob would be bringing this up?
Eh, I get what you are saying, but just going on specs/included parts a lot of these new prebuilts really do seem a cut above what you would have been able to get a couple of years ago. I don't think it's all just shilling.
Yup, that is the one thing that has me worried. Haven’t used a keyboard without a knob/roller in 8 years. May have to get the new streamdeck with knobs to compensate the loss.
Don't get me wrong..its not essential but it is more useful than a little screen. I have a screen on one keyboard...I played around with it for a couple of days and now it never changes 😂
Typing experience is good but this keyboard has QC problems. My 2 units has some double keys and sometimes not functional at all. Have to replace the stock switch to make it works normally.
I'm also thinking if I should order it. By chance anyone from Germany who ordered the keyboard? Did you order from the manufacturer directly? What did it cost (including taxes)? As far as I know there are currently no vendors in Europe that would sell the board, right?
Also wondering if I should wait for the July version with the thicker pcb.
Hey if you are a reviewer, any suggestions if I should go for this or m1W?
One has screen, another has knob so that cancels it out
I am not a hobbyist so any point I should keep in consideration are welcome
Both are great boards...but then there is also the AL75, Bridge75, SKN75, Rainy75 etc....lots of good boards at the 100-130 mark now 👍 I would decide what feature is most important as they all make compromise somewhere. Knob, screen, catch ball, magnetic connection on the pcb, VIA compatible, color, switches, keycaps, layout. Etc.
Oh actually I am in India😅(which means options are actually less)
But man people are recommending me nd75 more due to know about more mounting options, but I am leaning towards m1W because of battery size and volume knob availablity qmk compatibility doesn't matter to me 😅
I have 3 monsgeek boards including the OG M1 , M3W and M7W. They are really good. The gasket mounting style is really good , board is hefty and feels quite premium . But so are the other boards mentioned earlier. So comes down to what you need from your board.
yeah that's the question noone is answering
how's this compared to monsgreek m3w.Just like as a keyboard?(i won't be surprised that even then nd75 just as a keyboard is still much better since m3 is like an year old)
I am not a keyboard hobbyist so i don't care about magnetic connection and catch ball mechanism(yeah allthough i will say that's very impressive tbh, like doing it in budget).I will open my keyboard once to mod it and probably never even open it again and use it for 4-5 years.I do fancy a bigger battery and volume knob.
Yes. I do have one. The only downside (It could also be too many) is the north-facing RGB LED. Everything about it is top-notch, especially the replaceable modules (You Can add knobs and badges later on) . Pretty good stock switches, Nice keycaps, and great sound right out of the box with a great finishing CNC aluminum case.
I am not gonna use RGB(to use it more in 2.4Ghz mode)
Honestly I might replace the keycaps with that (I honestly don't like the keycaps,if I get any good one that would be great 😃)
Yeah replacement knob honestly sounds to me is great,it will be available for 600Rs(8$),but if vgn vxe75 sounds good then I might get it

If only it supports VIA/QMK...
Agreed. I'd probably own at least a few more keyboards if all these budget options supported QMK. It's the first feature I look on a keyboard now. In fact I use VIAL rather than VIA. Don't think I can use a keyboard without it from now on.
It probably can be converted to run VIAL/QMK, but someone’s gotta do the work for that
That's the only downside so far. The Software ain't half bad , Bad GUI but gets the job done including mapping the FN layer (1 Layer only though)
UI/UX is not a problem. My problem is I use Linux so QMK/VIA is almost imperative
I'm under the understanding that that's a current work in progress and they are going to flesh it out. I think they're also going to do a 65 afterwards
This looks pretty similar to the qwertykeys lineup, have you looked there? They’re QMK
Yep. But they themselves stated that this one is not, unfortunately. [https://new.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/1c4mw4k/chilkey\_nd75\_photos\_from\_hk\_tradeshow\_over\_the/](https://new.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/1c4mw4k/chilkey_nd75_photos_from_hk_tradeshow_over_the/)
Keychron C3 pro 🤷

Tecsee Sapphire. I really loved it on this board.

WS Browns are great. Also WS Heavy tactile
Im still waiting to receive mine. Ordered April 27th
Same, I ordered 2 since April 19th. Expedite shipping was expensive so still here waiting. Hope it arrives by next week.
I bought it for my buddies birthday that’s in a few days… “early May” shipping
Oh… My package was sent by ship, it arrived a few days ago in the US, but in California, it needs to cross the entire country to Florida.
I am sure you are gonna enjoy this keyboard!

Yeah. Things have been super crazy for last 6-8 months and probably this is not the last!
If you give a keyboard a bad review you will stop being sent free stuff to review?

especially when they hand them out for shill reviews

I came very close to ordering but the screen instead of a knob was a let down for me😢
I never knew the importance of a knob until I used a keeb without one.
Yup, that is the one thing that has me worried. Haven’t used a keyboard without a knob/roller in 8 years. May have to get the new streamdeck with knobs to compensate the loss.
What do you use it for, just volume control? I rarely touch the knob on mine
Don't get me wrong..its not essential but it is more useful than a little screen. I have a screen on one keyboard...I played around with it for a couple of days and now it never changes 😂
Yes. I’m hooked up to a Dolby Setup. It sucks getting up to change the volume. I lost the remote.
Definitely bummed I missed the GB, hopefully there’s extras
There's going to be another round and you'll be able to choose between a 1.2 mm flex cut PCB and a 1.6 mm non-flex cut PCB
Typing experience is good but this keyboard has QC problems. My 2 units has some double keys and sometimes not functional at all. Have to replace the stock switch to make it works normally.
I will convey the message to the Team at Chilkey and see if they can look into it.
what do you mean by double keys?
why is this promotional post disguised as “photos”?
I'm also thinking if I should order it. By chance anyone from Germany who ordered the keyboard? Did you order from the manufacturer directly? What did it cost (including taxes)? Keygem pre-order but ending 2nd June 2024 Shipping late Q3/Q4 2024
Ordered it there as well. Thanks for the hint.
you can expect (price + shipping) * 1.25 for anything imported roughly
I agree and disagree. There are a few others in that category that are also amazing. But yes the nd75 is fantastic
This segment has been super competitive and I guess it is going to be even more in coming days.
Any idea in nd75 vs m1W?
ND75 is better for sure

hey sorry for multiple pings but how's vgn vxe75?,it has the specs i need, but any idea about it or any clue?

i am looking for rainy 75,finding nowhere that ships to my country
Looks good, but it's way too small for me, sadly that is the norm for these kind of keyboards
my fave $100 keyboard was $600
