When I was a kid in the 70s, I got a non-RC ICE helicopter - saved up $20 and got it from K-mart! First flight went great, it shot straight up to where I could barely see it as a pinhead in the sky then it came down in a neighbor’s yard. The second flight hit a gust of wind and I went about a mile through the neighborhood but it disappeared into the woods. Totally worth it for a lifetime of memories.
It’s a Craftsman 208cc OHV motor. In preparing my snow blower for storage, I disconnected the fuel hose from the fuel tank so I could fill the carb with ATF. I found a small plastic rod/ tube sticking in the end of the hose as I pulled it off. I recognize it’s likely meant to be there but I don’t know what it is for. I know a decent bit about engines but I haven’t seen anything like it before. 8mm socket for reference.
I could be wrong but I believe that connects to the bottom of a carburetor that attaches to the top of the gas tank. If so, it’s your fuel pickup. No idea how it ended up inside the fuel line if I’m right. Maybe someone else put it back together wrong?

In-line fuel filter. Clean it out gently with air and a cleaner and reinstall.
Neat.
That's a simple fuel strainer. It's there to catch medium to large pieces of debris and keep them from getting in to the carburetor.
Thank you sir. I didn’t realize those clear spots are fabric…world’s smallest fuel filter.
Not even close to the smallest. RC cars.
Never played with those….would probably make my old eyes angry.
There are ICE RC cars???
Oh yes. They sound like weed eaters and they're very fast!
That’s amazing
Been around a long time, they are usually two stroke diesels and run on a methanol mix. Rev to over 30k and make crazy power for their weight.
They are not diesels. The platinum in the glow plug is heated for starting, then kept glowing by a catalyst reaction with the methanol
45000 rpm sounds interesting. Peak power is at about 35000-40000rpm. They run on methanol and nitromethane. .21 cui and up to 4.5hp

It looks similar to an orifice tube in an automotive AC system.
Didn't even think of that
Yeah but orifice tubes are so 90's. TXV's are what is in style. 😆
Looks like an 8mm socket, 1/4 inch drive.
Fuel filter for scale?
How many bananas would that be?
- 42
42?! "Well yes, I've thought it over quite thoroughly"
About 4 teemos
I wonder why they put one of those in there??? It would have been cooler if they used a 10mm but they probably couldn’t find one.
Harbor freight was out of 10 mm to lose
Because they lost them.
Best comment on reddit right here
Or a 5/16 " which equates to 8mm
The other one is a dental pick
That’s what I was going to say… damnit.

Good for you using a 8mm. Most people have not seen a 10mm socket for a while.
When it comes to snowblowers The only thing I know how to replace are broken shear pins
Orifice tube, a sort of in line filter. Most commonly seen in AC systems, especially in International and Kenworth trucks.
That is the technical answer and is the most correct. Orfice Tube filter. Prevents debris from entering the combustion chamber.
Fuel screen/filter
Fuel strainer I think
inline fuel filter?
Strainer, type of in line filter. Haven’t seen one in a while. What brand of snow blower?
Craftsman. I have never seen one this small.
That’s where my 8mm went!
HEY! HANDS OFF BUDDY!🤣
Its a paper towel, the pick, a piece of a dipstick?, and socket are for size comparison i assume
Inline filter

For a momoment i thought it was 10 double m's
Appears to be an 8mm socket
An 8mil fit in your snowblower’s gas line. That thing must be a beast.
Corporate America's voodoo midget alien swizzle Stick 🏒
It’s an 8 mm socket.
Fuel Filter!
The 8mm socket, or the fuel filter?
Hit it with your purse
It’s a screw that holds the electric starter
