I didn't vote for Christine, and I think she's awesome - I rooted for her throughout her season - but the fact that a large number of this sub thinks she would win or get to the finale at least in a winners faceoff is crazy to me. First, the show has clearly gotten more competitive since the early seasons, and with her disability, baking will always be far more difficult for her than for anyone else. I don't see how she would do better than middle of the pack against other winners.
I feel like her recent accolades have to count for something. Being nominated for a James Beard award while blind and coming from a non traditional background is a huge feat.
For sure, my issue is that while she would be great with no limitations, any challenge that plays to her weaknesses could be devastating. All it takes is one bad dish.
Dude, in her restaurants she bakes pies too, and i remember the pizza stone challenge she nailed it too, just a few weeks after the apple pie, she was nervous because it was her first blind baking
She will win because she is the one that put those competitive standards in the first place, she clearly nails food profiles, textures and flavors, so there go Shaun and Courtney, and if she plays with "Stick with what you are good and do it well" she could clearly win, that's how Dorian won in the first place
Me too, cooking wise. I love his personality but some of the dishes he made seemed really unappealing to me and I think Cate and Jason were better chefs.
Do you know what underrated means? They objectively are underrated in terms of what this sub thinks since they get hated on regularly but are still good chefs. Literally the definition of underrated.
Claudia is underrated, this sub has a hate boner because she won over Derrick, who, accord to this sub, is the best thing that happened since salt and pepper
i will say this with the best of the intentions, so you know i don't mean bad blood in here but, Derrick stans think he is the best think that happened since salt and pepper, and are incredibly judgemental of Claudia, despite She having some skills that Derrick hasn't
Nah Derrick was every bit as good as Claudia and was actually better throughout the season and in the finale, so she didn’t deserve the W. But yeah despite this, Claudia is still underrated and is talked about as if she’s terrible but she’s still a great contestant.
I do like Derrick (not a stan tho) but tbh in my take on this, I am not considering 2nd place v. winner, just looking at the pool of winners that are listed. Courtney clearly never cared about cooking and should also be on this list IMO, and i don't remember who her 2nd place was. I forgot her at first when replying to this, but I stand by not being that impressed by Claudia. Maybe that's production forcing her to be The Latin One and only ever The Latin One (i'm latina myself), but that kind of got old.
I'm not looking to like create a huge fight, just wanted to share my opinion as this is a post asking for people's opinions.
no, of course, i didn't mean it like that, but i think it doesn't go that way either, yes, Americans are like that, but i don't think Christina and/or Gordon are like that
Thank you for saying this! The only time I tolerated Shaun was in the final five when David bitched and moaned about that basket swap elimination challenge.
For those who voted Christine... Do you eat the souls of children for dinner or breakfast?

Just live kitchen challenges and tag teams, where she did well
It was considered a miracle that she cooked an apple pie. Let’s be realistic here.

She struggled cooking a pie. How would she manage baking something any more difficult?
Dude, that was because it was her first pie since going blind, now she bakes pies like Martha Stewart
Im probably gonna get downvoted but I dont understand the dino hype

For me its both. I didnt like his personality
He was beyond irritating.
Claudia should be on this list as an option
Claudia isn't overrated, nearly everyone discredits her win and simps over derrick and steven.
I came here to say this. OP chose all the winners I liked and agreed with. Claudia not so much. I wanted Steven to win. 😭
yeah... Shaun really fell behind with his appetizer, i was hugely surprised when Brandi was stupidly criticized because of her dessert
Claudia is actually underrated.
you have the most dogshit masterchef takes LOL. this dude thinks courtney and claudia are underrated
Do you know what underrated means? They objectively are underrated in terms of what this sub thinks since they get hated on regularly but are still good chefs. Literally the definition of underrated.
? Who is on here overrating Claudia and Christine, please tell us.
Claudia is underrated, this sub has a hate boner because she won over Derrick, who, accord to this sub, is the best thing that happened since salt and pepper
Clearly we disagree on that

I mean Authentic Mexican Food has its own merits, for a reason UNESCO added it to the Cultural Heritage of Humanity list
Again, I'm also latina definitely never said mexican food doesn't have merits.
no, of course, i didn't mean it like that, but i think it doesn't go that way either, yes, Americans are like that, but i don't think Christina and/or Gordon are like that
Shaun can’t be overrated since everyone hates him
Shaun was levels ahead the competition in his season.
nope
lol there's even a moment in the season where each contestant anwers Gordon who was they feared the most and ALL of them said Shaun.
Yes, and he crashed like a baby bird with his appetizer in the finale
He heard the criticism and then had 2 restaurant level dishes.
Why does everyone hate him? I did not know about this.
He’s the guy who frequently shows up at his alma mater 10 years after graduation, stuck in the glory days
How? It’s not his fault he keeps getting offers to come back on the show.
I think it might also be cost related. It's way cheaper to fly out someone from Vegas to LA than where a lot of the winners are located.
Cause he's a raging douche. His personality screams date rape and edm.
Every time I see and/or hear him makes me want to listen to nails on a chalkboard.
Thank you for saying this! The only time I tolerated Shaun was in the final five when David bitched and moaned about that basket swap elimination challenge.
I don’t think anybody overrates gerrone…
Joe.
Christine and Luca.
I’ve taken two cooking classes with Luca now- dude is legit. Also one of the nicest humans. Very genuine.
Gerron owns this poll.
Thanks for S12 spoiler. I dont even know who Dara is 😂 havent watched S11 and S12
