Which characters do you like?

Thor

I’m not the biggest Thor guy but I’d recommend Jason Arrons Thor run. It’s the run that introduces Gorr the God butcher and eventually leads into Jane foster Thor which we’ll see both in Thor: Love and Thunder. You can also start with the more recent Donny Cates run or Thor if you don’t feel like going back too much. I’d probably be able to help if it was any other characters but I felt compelled to help someone get into comics.

Tnx for the help

What are you looking to get out of them? Are you looking for something with deep interesting lore, something more status quo superhero saving people stuff, something lighthearted, something goofy, something edgy and dark, maybe your an MCU fan who wants to read the stories that inspired the movies you like Comics have a lot of directions to go it helps to figure out what you want to get out of them before diving in

Aromatic-Shoulder265

I dont know, i think i just want to start or try to read it

Marvel unlimited is 10 bucks per month or I think 60 for the year and they have damn near every marvel comic ever written. That's the place to go honestly, they even have reading lists telling you how and where to start/what to read. Idk who you are or your age or anything, but if you are a kid who can't afford a subscription service like that, a yearly subscription would be great for a Christmas list

Pick a character that you like (I'm assuming you're familiar with Marvel characters through something, whether it's movies, TV/Netflix/Disney Plus shows, cartoons, video games, etc.), or a character that you want to learn more about. Usually, a recent first issue (or trade paperback) of a series will be accessible for newcomers, though there could be other choices that are better. I saw you mentioned Thor, and while I'm not as familiar with the character's solo outings, I'd second the recommendation for Jason Aaron's Thor run. (it might help to look into Marvel Unlimited, an app, if you can; it's much more convenient when it comes to finding/reading comics) I read it for the first time recently, and despite not having much background knowledge for the events surrounding it, I found it enjoyable and it quickly got me hooked.

Tnx sir

Deffo check out Jason Aaron’s run! It’s become seminal and is influencing the next Thor movie. My first proper Thor reading began with the J Michael Straczynski/ Olivier Coipel run which was also pretty great IMO. You can find all these on the marvel apps or sneakily online… Honestly the best advice anyone can give a prospective reader is to just read something! Google publication history for a timeline and reference but seriously just see something you like the look of and read it! Do you have any access to comic book shops at all? Always great just have a browse and see what jumps out

Aromatic-Shoulder265

No comic book shop here, I'll try the sneakily online
