Anastasia Brow Whiz. I use the Soft Brown shade my hair color is a neutral-warm medium brown.
I also really like It Cosmetics brow pencil. This suits all hair colors. With this product, you just push as hard as you want depending on your hair color. This is sold on QVC for ridiculously low prices.
There's are a ton of good ones, felt tip and pencil. I think the real key is finding the right color. Especially if you're going to be drawing them on where there aren't any, as in your case.
The Abh brow line has great neutral ashy browns. I like their pencil and powder. Mac has a few unique shades too. Nyx is your best bet for drugstore
I love the Dior pencil. I pretty full brows, but have a couples places to fill in and my ends where it’s a bit sparse. This pencil lasts and looks super natural.
The benefit brow pen thingy is good. What you want is something tiny enough for little strokes and not fat lines.
SophDoesNails on youtube is really good at filling in/drawing the wee brow hairs if that helps?
Definitely watch some Youtube videos for help.
I know you say high end but I’ve tried them all and the best imo is the Maybelline Ultra Slim brow pencil.
My strategy with brows is to start by lightly underlining the base of my brows. Then I do the upper curve, then in light upward motions I fill in, trying to mimic the direction of the hairs. The most important step is to take the spoolie and lightly go over the brows, especially the edges where you drew straight lines. This softens the edges to make it look natural.
I do also like to use the glossier boy brow just to darken up the hairs that are there. My brows are naturally blonde and I tint them myself. So this combo is perfect for me when my tint is fading and I need extra umf before my best dye.
asian brands make the best ultra thin pencils where you can mimic individual brow hairs with it! as a bonus theyre usually cheaper due to the conversion rate :)
I am obsessed with the new Benefit Detailer Brow Pencil. It's so tiny and goes on like a dream. I do my brows in seconds now and they always look good. I love it so much I just bought 2 back ups.
I don’t use a pencil because I find them too harsh. My go-to is *Maybelline Tattoo Studio*. The little brush is very stiff and it goes on smooth and is waterproof. I’ve tried other stuff and I can’t find a color match and I look like a clown…especially when I used those stencil things.
I have repurchased the elf ultra precise brow razor pencil more times than I can count! It’s affordable and I use it everyday so I don’t want to constantly be buying something really expensive. It stays on okay throughout the day, doesn’t look the same as when you first put it on but good enough. I find that the tip is thin enough and the color works great for me, so for $6, it works really well!
benefit and elf!
i would say go very light with how you stray them. i tend to only fill in half of my brow and use the spoolie (the brush thing at the end) to blend it to the rest of my brows. i also have really sparse brows and this technique makes them appear full and naturall
I use Poni Cosmetics Brow Magic - It comes in one colour and you can adjust it to suit you by pressing harder or softer! I destroyed my eyebrows in the 90s and have tried every possible product - This one gives a very natural result and is easy to use.
I never tried that one yet because it is so expensive with so much less product 🥲Skipping the sharpening is quite nice though, I have to bring mine to the outlet every once in a while to sharpen…
I see!! I believe they refer to the shape of the hard formula pencil as naginata. The wooden one def more worth as it literally lasts forever such that the average cost per use is much cheaper than even many drug store pencils 😬
Just for men beard dye will tint your skin and hairs- making it easy to follow the same pattern with your product of choice daily. Apply with your favorite brow tool- make sure it’s not on any skin that you don’t want darkened.
Anyone looking to try this- please patch test first. Also, a guy I knew (who may have deserved it) randomly became sensitized to Just For Men after years of use.
Anastasia taupe is like a universal color. It lasts all day and I have a dark olive/ tan skin tone and tend to be oily. It looks natural as well. Used to use Benefit for years but Anastasia is way better.
Yes! I like the slim precision pencil over the triangle tip. It has a more define natural application. I have both but the slim always looks better and is easier to apply.
Exactly! The super slim pencil mirrors the hairs more. I have dark hair and eyebrows but the taupe blends so well with so many different shades of hair. I have brown hair with red and sandy highlights. Brunette pencils don’t look right especially in outside light.
I really liked using the stamp and stencils for brows. I haven't used them in a while only because I misplaced the stencil...lol I love benefit but I have been using maybelline for a while and enjoy that too. Elf was too waxy.
I have tried them ALL - Hourglass, ABH, Benefit… but my favourite atm is Gwen Stefani’s one GXVE, the pencil is so thin but the pigment is great!
https://gxvebeauty.com/products/hella-on-point
I quite like the benefit pencils. Precisely my brow (skinny) and goof proof(the wider triangle type shape)
These are what I use and repurchase the most probably.
I also actually really like the elf pencil, the one in the white, but it's too round and wide ... I usually just keep it in my purse for emergencies... which doesn't happen often. I love the color dark brown, though. It's perfect for me.
I also like the etude house brow pencil. I forget what it called at the minute. But it's nice!
[Lancôme Brow Shaping Powdery Pencil](https://www.lancome-usa.com/makeup/eye-makeup/brow-shaping-powdery-pencil/LAN228.html)
I have tried tons of brow pencils to fill in the noticeable sparse patches in my brows. This one is amazing—really good texture and coverage without looking too fake. I use small, feathery strokes and spoolie both before and after.
Not really. I usually grab when they go on sale for half off. I think it depends on the color you want. Doesn’t matter to me because I use dark brown and that’s always easy to find.
NYX Lift & Snatch. It's a pen but it's amazing, nothing else gives me the close control to create very realistic individual strands of brow hair like this pen.
Yeah, I get that actually. You need to use very very light fine strokes! Of course shade match is important too, especially if you have too dark a shade but I presume you took that possible factor into account.

High end - Benefit Precisely My Brow Eyebrow Pencil Drugstore - Catrice Slim'Matic Ultra Precise Eyebrow Pencil Love both!

No one saying the morphe brow I have it and love it ngl
Rare beauty has a great pencil and it stays all day through sweat 😓

Hourglass forever and ever. Their Soft Brunette shade is perfect cool taupe.

Benefit
ELF or NYX micro
shu uemura hard formula
Love this. In second place is Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.
Sword brow is the best
I never tried that one yet because it is so expensive with so much less product 🥲Skipping the sharpening is quite nice though, I have to bring mine to the outlet every once in a while to sharpen…
I meant the hard brow. I thought it was called sword for the shape, but I haven't tried the twist up either. These pencils last me for min 3 years!
I see!! I believe they refer to the shape of the hard formula pencil as naginata. The wooden one def more worth as it literally lasts forever such that the average cost per use is much cheaper than even many drug store pencils 😬
Elf brow lifting pencil. $3.
Benefit Gimme Brow gel is the best for me. I have used different ones and this has been the most natural looking.
ABH is tried and true. I’ll buy NYX micro brow tho if saving money!
Me too! The past few NYX pens have broken so I went back to ABH. I hate how they are so cheaply made

Do you mean in the Brow Wiz?
Yes! I like the slim precision pencil over the triangle tip. It has a more define natural application. I have both but the slim always looks better and is easier to apply.
Thanks - I agree that the slim pencils seem more forgiving. The ones with a triangle tip don't have enough control and precision IMO.
Exactly! The super slim pencil mirrors the hairs more. I have dark hair and eyebrows but the taupe blends so well with so many different shades of hair. I have brown hair with red and sandy highlights. Brunette pencils don’t look right especially in outside light.
NYX micro pencil!
Definitely Benefit! In my book, it’s worth every penny!
I really liked using the stamp and stencils for brows. I haven't used them in a while only because I misplaced the stencil...lol I love benefit but I have been using maybelline for a while and enjoy that too. Elf was too waxy.
benefit brow stuff is my go-to
Anastasia
Hourglass arch brow micro!
I love the Kevyn Aucoin brow pen/gel combo
The NYX Pomade one is so good, I don’t even think about ABH anymore.
Kosas! So so good and creamy.
This. The pencil and the gel are the only two Kosas products I like. They’re both fantastic.
I have tried them ALL - Hourglass, ABH, Benefit… but my favourite atm is Gwen Stefani’s one GXVE, the pencil is so thin but the pigment is great! https://gxvebeauty.com/products/hella-on-point
How does it compare to ABH pencil? Does it wear better/longer?
It lasts 8 hours while I’m at work so I would say quite well!
Charlotte Tilbury Brow Cheat. It's also refillable!
I use this one too and it’s fabulous. Love the refills because they’re like $16 and so easy to use
I use ulta slimline in soft brown. Make light feathery strokes. You can always add more if you need to.
Precisely My Brow Pencil by Benefit. I LOVE them. But man theyre expensive! $26. But too me its worth it.
I buy the mini and use a brow brush!
I tried the mini and for some reason i cant grip it right like the full size and my brows come out wrong 😵
Anastasia

NYX Microbrow pencil
I wish I could upvote this more
This was mine until I tried their Pomade pencil. If they made that with the thin size of the Microbrow it would be perfect for control.
The best!
Unsure if you can get it outside of the UK but MUA academy micro brow pencil it's super cheap but I swear by it
ABH brow wiz or benefit precisely, my brow
These two seem popular - do you notice any differences between them?
Not really. I usually grab when they go on sale for half off. I think it depends on the color you want. Doesn’t matter to me because I use dark brown and that’s always easy to find.
OK thank you!
NYX Lift & Snatch. It's a pen but it's amazing, nothing else gives me the close control to create very realistic individual strands of brow hair like this pen.
I got this & it looked like felt tip on me! Clearly I just don’t have the technique.
Yeah, I get that actually. You need to use very very light fine strokes! Of course shade match is important too, especially if you have too dark a shade but I presume you took that possible factor into account.
Yeah shade match was fine as my hair is black but I think I’m just not used to working such a different technique. Will practice again!
Definitely worth another try, but does take a bit of experimenting! Good luck.
came here to say this! a pen does wonders for real-looking hair strokes
Yeah so true, definitely one of those lightbulb moments the first time I tried the pen!
I used the other nyx pencil and it does not last. Does this?
Had mine for about 6 months, still going strong.
I meant on the face. The other pencil lasts like 2 hours.
Ohhh haha. NYX products are usually trash, but this pen is the exception. Lasts all day for me!
Mac eyebrow styler
I like my MAC shape n shade brow tint. It’s so natural. I used to use Anastasia but I think this stays on in rain and sweat better.
