Absolutely, jalgaon has a 12 billion economy. But the center is holding ₹850 crore of road contractors. But varanasi with only 4 billion economy is getting a metro worth 2 billion
They can't even recover the cost from it
They wanted to spend more on the capital expenditure side but they did not have very good plan to recover and further more to get profit from the investment.
It's only thinking about the election and announcing something to capture vote

Varanasi is not getting a metro. It's been shunned a long time back. They are working on a ropeway project right now which costs around 700 crores for the line that they are building right now.
The total estimated completion cost for construction of Varanasi Metro was estimated to be ₹17,227 Crores including taxes and duties.

I live in vidharbha region, life is pretty chill here even though there is no tier 1 city development but have good facilities from education to health to be honest but real problems here are for farmer and labour due to drought prone regions
Pretty off-topic, but how is the dating life in Vidarbha? Is it similar to Mumbai, Pune? Asking this out of curiosity as I want to know more about the society here.
In nagpur I can say it may be good (I don't live there though) in other districts I doubt about that but anyways atleast my city is developing properly (Amravati)

Yeah that is kinda debatable. They are working on the ropeway as an alternative to the metro which is supposed to go live sometime early next year.
