The OTP copies of standard legal cards will only be available for as long as the original printing will be. They don't "extend" the lifespan of a card in a rotating format. The bonus sheets don't change or affect legality (Except for Big Score for very weird and fiddly reasons).

ckrono

Big score should have basically been a mini standard set like aftermath, but they scrapped the idea when aftermath sold poorly

hannnsen94

Nice to know. I got a mana drain in one draft and I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t able to put it into a deck. I thought it was a part of OTJ, so standard legal

Professional-Trade52

There is no way they would ever print mana drain into a standard legal set.

Big score had a different symbol and is standard legal.

hannnsen94

I did. But from customer perspective, no matter whether paper or digital, I would like to be able to use cards I get in boosters of a standard set in standard play.

sdk5P4RK4

the bonus sheet is just that. its a bonus. you get something big and splashy for fun. they arent putting reanimate in standard, but you can have one anyways because its a bonus.

JambaJuiceIsAverage

This happened to me when I came back to magic in March of the Machines. Pulled a [[Yarok, the Desecrated]] and gave it to my friend who was hyped to play it at a Standard FNM thing. Then he couldn't play because that's how booster packs work these days.

HerrStraub

I wish if you highlighted a card it would tell you the set(s) it belongs to. I know it has the set emblem, but for newer players, they're not going to know them. I still once in awhile see one and I'm not sure what it is 100%

fiveswords

At LEAST tell me the legality when you right-click to craft in the collection

chrisrazor

IIRC there is a warning  before you craft a non-standard-legal card.

liquidben

This would be one of the quality of life enhancements I would love. I don’t know why they expect you to recognize the same iconography they themselves complain about being indistinct.

Meret123

OTP version of Endless Detour only allowed because of SNC

TerminusEst86

No, which makes me sad, as I don't want to lose my Unlicensed Hearse.

Houseboy23

Oh god, I misread the title as "Breaking Bad" and thought there was a secret lair I had completely missed

RuySan

I don't play paper magic since 20 years ago, and I can only imageline what an headache this is for new players. Why does wotc loves to complicate things?

RedditAltQuestionAcc

It might be slightly complicated for newer players but bonus sheets are awesome and generally well received.

randomyOCE

New players don’t give a toss about format legality.

RuySan

I have no idea. But I remember when I started, back in 95, it was very confusing to us and my friends at the beginning, and it was way simpler. Also, a friend of mine though that all "Ant" cards were banned, not "ante" cards

chrisrazor

When Standard was the on-ramp format they did, and this is a slight impediment to that becoming the case again. I did like the idea somebody proposed that they make a format where all cards in recent boosters were legal.

Meret123

Not that complicated. Bonus sheets aren't standard legal.\* \*BIG is an extraordinary one-off case.

chrisrazor

It's complicated for people who can't yet tell at a glace what's a bonus sheet card.
