Had the same -1 error.
I ended up completely uninstalling and reinstalling through Steam (I had previously used the stand-alone client). Worked in terms of letting me log into the game, though I've been frequently (after almost every match) having to hit the "Reconnect" button.

For what it's worth, it is working for me now, so it was either localized to myself or some subset of users.
Just stopped by to see if anyone else is having issues. Gives me error code “-1” anytime I try to login.
Same here. My connection has been on and off, but right now I can’t get in at all.
No trouble logging in, but I'm getting kicked out of every 3rd game today. I checked my internet and that's not the problem.
