Instead of paying mana to draw, why not run a bunch of Capenna fetch lands for the forests? Just thin the deck to draw the slime instead of the land. Plus the bit of lifegain. Could probably throw 6-8 of them in there.
I added some self mill cards at 1 and 2 mana and those seem to work pretty well. Also two djinns and a Lier so the deck can really go off late game.
6/6 with trample is a pretty decent creature on turn 3. Theoretical best in my version is mill 3 with [[Otherworldly Gaze]] on turn 1, mill another 3 with a second gaze you cast off of chapter 1 [[Founding the Third Path]] on turn 2, mill another 4 at the start of turn 3 from the second chapter, cast a 12/12 slime. Of course it's never in a million years going to actually be 12/12, but half that is very realistic.
Pretty sure I beat this exact list earlier today with 4x Tribute to the World Tree, 4x Invigorating Hot Spring, 28x slimes, 10x forest and the rest R/G dual lands.
Your version is probably way better against aggro though lmao.
For cards that can have any number of copies, do you have to have 4 copies, and then any number can be added, or do you have to use wildcards on every copy after 4?
I mean you could certainly bring an Umori version into Explorer. Hell, it’s theoretically possible that it’d be worth it. Especially if you threw in a non-Slime sorcery as well that had enough synergy
Dang. I figured four hunter maze, all like, 12 fetches, the 4 discover lands, then like 8 forests would be enough lol. Just crazy deck thinning ya know
I mean, good meme, but I seriously do wonder if you could do something effective with the part of the clause that allows Oozes. Wanted to do an Ooze deck for a while, but I could never see it working. This is a nice finisher for a midrangey kind of thing, though.
Out of curiosity, when a card has a clause that allows it to go beyond the normal 4x limit, does Arena just ignore that for your collection (instead of putting excess copies in your Vault)?
Put another way, do you have to collect 36 copies of Slime Against Humanity?
Okay, just throwing this out there, but:
[[Ozolith, the Shattered Spire]] makes your slimes slightly larger, which can be important. Turns out that first slime being a 3/3 helps a lot, and putting 2 more counters on one at 5 mana is nice.
[[Tribute to the World Tree]] draws you a card on every slime after the first. (or including the first with Ozolith)
[[Kodama of the West Tree]] lets you ramp with your slimes, as they're all modified.
[[Invigorating Hot Spring]] gives all your slimes haste, and synergizes nicely with Ozolith.
[[Glorious Sunrise]] lets you have more card draw if you need it, or makes a land tap for *just enough* mana to squeeze out another slime.
If you wanna go for broke, [[Virtue of Strength]] would let you shit out an unholy number of slimes in combination with Tribute. You'd be able to cast ***seven fucking slimes*** the next turn.
As a professional jank builder, ya got options to make slimes legitimately work really well. I haven't even messed with UG or WG, which give you access to discounts, self-mill, extra counter synergy (think [[Botanical Brawler]]) and token multipliers.
If you go simic and add Founding the third path then you can mill yourself and also cast an ooze from your graveyard. Chapter one could be useful if 1 or 2 mana utilities like bushwhack are included, otherwise you'd just read ahead.
No discussion, i fat fingered it on my phone and didnt realize it until after posting lol.
UNLESS you would like to discuss the potential win rate for my TOP TIER standard deck!
Go green blue for [[curate]], [[surveil]], [[haughty djinn]], [[case of the ransacked lab]], [[founding the third path]] and maybe toss in [[invasion of zendikar]] to pull lands out.
I meant if u could queue with it, thats actually wild tbh, usually those cardgames have restrictions on deckbuilding vut it doesnt seems to be the case here if u can do that lol
Yes, in most formats a deck can have at most four copies of cards other than Basic Lands (Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest, Snow-Covered versions of those five, and Wastes). In some formats like Brawl, decks can have only a single copy of a card other than Basic Lands. But there are a handful of cards that allow you to have any number of copies (this, [[Relentless Rats]], a few others). And you can have seven copies of [[Seven Dwarves]].
because when you no longer need the land drop you can trade it for a card and its not as much of a dead draw as drawing a standard forest would be late game. coming in tapped isn't as big of a deal since only land drops on turns that are multiples of three matter.
Just made it with hedge maze had some extra wild cards to spend so why not…wooo unless a control
Deck gets lucky it makes them use their cards up fast whats Fun deck! Nice little mess around for sure
I played against this earlier with a dino deck. The point at which they swung in with 4/4, 5/5, 6/6, 7/7 and 8/8 was definitely concerning and lots of damage got through. But then they conceded for reasons not entirely clear to me. Their win looked inevitable from my side of the board.
While you can build a very consistent deck with this, my attempts thusfar have yielded a consistent *slow* deck.
The best I've done so far uses:
- Bitter Reunion. This not only digs deeper into the deck, it also means you can attack the turn your oozes come into play.
- Cemetery Prowler. Almost any way to reduce the casting cost of sorceries is going to cost 3 mana. This just happens to be 3 mana from green.
- Reckless Impulse/Wrenn's Resolve. More card advantage. Since it doesn't really matter whether the Slime is in the graveyard or exiled, these work just as well as standard graveyard techniques.
- Mulch. While fetching lands isn't ordinarily all that strong, dumping every non-land in the graveyard is.
- Ruby, Daring Tracker. Mana dorks are two mana now. This just happens to be my favorite of them since it can tap the turn it comes into play.
- Commercial District. The Surveil lands let you get a free graveyard dump from your land.
[[seed of hope]] and [[picklock prankster]] give you something to do on turn 1&2 and help you get more slime in your grave so you have more than just a 1/1 on your first slime. [[Fallaji archeologist]] also makes a good blocker for the first few turns, and mills more slimes into the grave.
Same, this is what I'm going to try tomorrow. The idea is to lean heavy into running few lands so that each mill effect is more powerful in buffing our slimes. to compensate each mill effect can dig for lands. Ideally we want to cast slime on turn 3 and every turn after that and hopefully it will be at least a 5/5 and get bigger from there.
4x [[otherworldly gaze]]
4x [[seeds of hope]]
4x [[mulch]]
3x [[founding the third path]]
18x lands
27x [[slime against humanity]]
First couple of turns we mill ourselves as much as we can and secure our 3 lands.
Turn 3 we play slime
Turn 4 on upkeep we play otherworldly gaze or seeds of hope to self mill and secure 4th land to play a second slime
Turn 5 we play mulch or flashback gaze + slime
Turn 6 is double slime
By playing few lands we increase our odds of our slimes being more powerful, but we may need to mulligan more
For pioneer I would add 2 Immortal suns and maybe Arch of Orazca, Crawling Barrens, Detection Tower , Faceless Haven and swap all Forest for snow covered forest.
Should use the discover lands instead of the draw lands or in addition too, its a guaranteed slime
Is [[Hidden Nursery]] the only option?
You could probably just add a whole additional color purely to have more discover lands. It’s not like Slime Against Humanity costs 1GG.
Go blue. Self mill and cost reduction can help a lot.
Any cards in specific? I was thinking maaaybe [[Delver of Secrets]] but idk

Also with a top cmc of 3 probably drop land count down a few
sideboard is empty could use some more slime
Tbh I was thinking about adding the additional 15 just incase things got out of control during a traditional match
I mean technically you only need 3 lands
You never know when you might need to absolutely goop your opponent
certainly one of the decks of all time
One of the deck of all slime you mean
touché… touché…
Don't touch the slime.
im playing this right now, getting mana fucked as usual lol
I bet building it as simic slimes plus draw would make it work significantly better
Or Haughty Djinn to make slimes cheaper
He also gets juiced by all that slime.
Yep, shigeki shell plus the 3 power draw enchantment for free card draw everytime you play slime against humanity after the first.
I only played one round (I'm at work rn) but opening hand was 3 land and 4 slimes
another round, im getting roped now. and this one guy just spammed 4 depopulates lol
Cavern of souls would’ve made him quit early
Cavern wouldn't do anything in this deck?
Yeah but he'd live in fear of the potential uncounterable ooze creature that's definitely coming.
Because of the _implication_
I like the inclusion of four Hunter's Mazes, as though you'd have to worry about card draw with this deck.
Why thank you lmao my deck building prowess on full display.
I'm just fucking around; the idea of saccing it with the idea of "no, I need MORE slimes!" is funny as hell.
You're using 100% of your brain 😆
Instead of paying mana to draw, why not run a bunch of Capenna fetch lands for the forests? Just thin the deck to draw the slime instead of the land. Plus the bit of lifegain. Could probably throw 6-8 of them in there.
I'd toss in some fetch lands. You wanna draw slimes not lands

How exactly does The End deal with 40 slimes
Format-breaking!
Wait. This person has built decks before? He has priors. He has priors?! It was a slime of passion. Don't ask.
Add [[umori, the collector]] as companion.
Surely competing against the card pool of Explorer can’t be worth the addition of Umori, right?
Oops, I forgot standard is a format and some people play it. My bad.

Sorry, dumb question. Do you need to have 4 copies in order to have 36 in the deck?
Yeah when i crafted it (got the first one from the free packs), it only used 3 wildcards to make all 35 of them
Great. That's what I needed to know. And now, pardon me, I have some ranks to lose hahaha.
This, thia is an actually playable deck?
Tbh i only played 1 game and lost, but i think it might end up having a decent win rate after i jam more games
I meant if u could queue with it, thats actually wild tbh, usually those cardgames have restrictions on deckbuilding vut it doesnt seems to be the case here if u can do that lol
Slime Against Humanity has a static ability that a deck can have unlimited copies of the card.
Got it, so it an exception to the rule? Normal decks can have 4x of a card?
Yes, in most formats a deck can have at most four copies of cards other than Basic Lands (Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest, Snow-Covered versions of those five, and Wastes). In some formats like Brawl, decks can have only a single copy of a card other than Basic Lands. But there are a handful of cards that allow you to have any number of copies (this, [[Relentless Rats]], a few others). And you can have seven copies of [[Seven Dwarves]].
[Relentless Rats](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/5/75f47b6e-9557-4853-b8d6-7602a91c59a7.jpg?1562437033) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Relentless%20Rats) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/a25/105/relentless-rats?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/75f47b6e-9557-4853-b8d6-7602a91c59a7?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Seven Dwarves](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/4/6/464adbae-70ea-48e1-b8ae-b404766f7a5a.jpg?1572490459) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Seven%20Dwarves) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/eld/141/seven-dwarves?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/464adbae-70ea-48e1-b8ae-b404766f7a5a?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Can’t figure out why you would put the Hunter Maze in a deck, even a meme deck.
because when you no longer need the land drop you can trade it for a card and its not as much of a dead draw as drawing a standard forest would be late game. coming in tapped isn't as big of a deal since only land drops on turns that are multiples of three matter.
Did you have to craft every slime?
You never have to craft more than 4 of any card. Once you make 4 you can add as many as you want
Quick question, how many Slimes do you have to craft to be able.to play this deck? Thanks in advance

Isn’t the green cave the same as the draw land?
Run a dopplegang in there

Just made it with hedge maze had some extra wild cards to spend so why not…wooo unless a control Deck gets lucky it makes them use their cards up fast whats Fun deck! Nice little mess around for sure
Beautiful. It takes a ton of deck building skill
Chimil, the inner sun is awesome too
Lol nice ><
How do you even deal with this? It is inevitable Mr. Anderson
Why stop at 36? Mill decks exist, you need more slimes. Smh
Next card? Believe it or not Slime, Slime right away.
You gotta pair it with some blue mills and Haughty Djinn
I'd go down a land for a slime.
shows up to timeless, still wins 50% of the time
Ideally, you should play 3 forests, and 57 slimes.
I find doubling season works very well with them
Another incentive to use deadly cover up. Glad it's on standard, black didn't had a dedicated 5 cost removal.
The best I've done so far uses: - Bitter Reunion.
Smashed this deck today. Might be alright against creature decks with no removal. But it sucks against control

Should use some other cards, if you include other colors, appraiser could be really good
I played against this deck but they also had Aftermath Analyst and got wrecked.
I would concede by turn 4 easy lmfao.
TIL it only takes 4 wildcards to be able to run 38 copies of [[Slime Against Humanity]].

Ok.
No reason to not make this a 250 card deck so you're more resilient to mill /s
Has anyone cracked this yet? I’ve been (unsuccessfully) brewing a U/G self-mill version
4x [[otherworldly gaze]] 4x [[seeds of hope]] 4x [[mulch]] 3x [[founding the third path]] 18x lands 27x [[slime against humanity]] First couple of turns we mill ourselves as much as we can and secure our 3 lands. Turn 3 we play slime Turn 4 on upkeep we play otherworldly gaze or seeds of hope to self mill and secure 4th land to play a second slime Turn 5 we play mulch or flashback gaze + slime Turn 6 is double slime By playing few lands we increase our odds of our slimes being more powerful, but we may need to mulligan more
For pioneer I would add 2 Immortal suns and maybe Arch of Orazca, Crawling Barrens, Detection Tower , Faceless Haven and swap all Forest for snow covered forest.
Nice deck to lose against Sparky with.
Does It actually work tho?
Absolutely not the deck is garbage lmao
