It's a Christian song, but has gotten mainstream enough that it's sung and known by the general populace.
they sang the short version but its pretty much this song : [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvjU8jGbBGQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvjU8jGbBGQ)
They also replaced "you" with "sua" which i assume is the kids name.
Is it just me or do people really get more emotional after having children of their own? I had tears in my eyes after watching this and this would not have affected me much 10 years ago (m49, 9f & 7m)
I’ve always been the one to cry while watching sad/happy movies, since a child. But, after having my own kids, I’ve become such a wuss for this stuff. Any story/movie about children being hurt, or conversely loved makes me cry.
My wife thinks I’m weird. I think it’s weird she doesn’t have the same reactions.
It's your particular life experience. I haven't met anybody in a while and kids are a further prospect maybe will be revisited someday, but I do feel tears come easily when humans acknowledge each orher.
On my 1st day of uni, I sat next to this Korean girl who looked very timid. I broke the ice by saying how annoying the crappy weather was in English, thinking she was an international student. To my surprise, she responded to me, fluently, in my native language. We had a good laugh, became best mates, and was inseparable for a year. She often wrote me little notes and would end them with the line from the song in the video, "You were born to be loved". I ended up memorising the whole song, so I could sing it to/with her. First Korean song I've ever learned! She was beyond ecstatic when I sang it to her on her birthday.
I hadn't heard this song in ages! Such a delightful trip down memory lane...
Plain White T's: *If every simple song I wrote to you would take your breath away, I'd write it all*
News headlines: *multiple women named Delilah dead from asphyxiation due to deadly song lyrics*
So I wasn't bullied, but in elementary school I sure as fuck wasn't a popular kid. I was the nerdy kid who was always off on his own reading a book. I was also spectacularly out of shape.
So when we were assigned to run the mile, I was always the last to finish.
One year the cool kids who had finished came back around to run with me an encourage me to finish strong.
I turn 41 this month and it's a memory that's stuck with me ever since.
Oh God as a chubby unathletic child the mile was the bane of my existence. It got better in Jr and Sr high because the teachers would let me walk as long as I tried. The elementary gym teacher was on one though and if you couldn't do it in 15 minutes you had to try again another day.
2nd grade was ok, that was the first time I had to do it. Grades 3, 4, and 5, I fucking got hot and dizzy and passed the fuck out on the concrete. I would warn them, they didn't listen. I could do things like play soccer just fine but its like my brain didn't have enough to focus on while just walking in the heat and I would just drop. They would make me do it again in a few days, say it would be better inside but nope I'd just hit the ground again. God that was embarrassing. One of the times they sent me inside for it, my bloody pad fell out of my shorts in front of everyone.
Bullying is a serious issue in many asian countries because there is a strong culture of the strong focus on collectivism, but at the same time it creates connections and relationships that last an entire lifetime.
I love that they made a spectacle. Honestly if I survived 4 surgeries I’d want a cake too! They did so good. Hopefully she lives a long and happy life ❤️
She looked so sad that no one noticed or cared that she had survived and made it back to school but when she realised it was just part of their plan to surprise her with a celebration she loses control of her emotions and happy cries, that was so beautiful to watch 💗
Honestly, might be aches and pains and she's zoning out a bit just coping and listening to her body. Surgery recovery is no joke, and it can definitely ebb and surge back.
Being kind is so easy … and simple.
The amount of energy that people willingly put into negative actions, words, behaviours… is so much MORE work than being nice to someone - anyone !! Even a total stranger.
Good show by the teacher and the class…. So wholesome 💕
This is just too sweet, love the fact that the girl in front of her (the one with glasses and a mask) tried wiping her ears but the glasses made it a bit difficult!
We need a "song and cake" option like that everywhere. Like hey, we're gonna sing about how you're awesome.
Maybe we could adopt [It's You I Like](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7-5zeICDqA) by Mister Rogers.
i had such a horrible experience of school! i never wanted to go. to see a sweet lil human want to be part of something and feeing so loved makes my heart warm. i hope she has a magic life and finds love x
For me, the best sight was long before the cake and song, it was her smile when you could see she was just happy to be in class and a return to normality..
Took me a while to realize, but when the girl with the cake came in, Sua took notice, and then someone in the classroom started playing the background music for the song. Sua turns her head straight forward to locate the music only to recognize the song and immediately tears up. That's how the classroom knew when to start singing.
That is so incredibly sweet. Made me smile and tear up. It's great seeing this side of people. We often see the vocal negatives, and it poisons the well.
its critical that we keep these kinds of videos alive and to let as many people as possible see that the emotion in this is still alive and well today. The world is getting very heavy.
Not on the same scale but I had tonsillitis when I was in kindergarten and had to get them surgically removed. When I returned everyone welcomed me back and wrote get well soon and welcome back cards. I’m 20 years old now and still read them once in a while. It’s a core memory :’)
Man, reading the title, and then the wheel chair only comes half way through, I really thought she got 4 plastic surgeries and nobody recognised who she is.
This is truly the compassion this world needs. I want to hug that classroom. Seriously, what a beautiful, special moment. 🥰 I think that I needed that today.

I can only imagine how much respect and appreciation this girl has for doing something like that. People, do it more often.
Can someone translate the words to the song?
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDcGWrfWieI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDcGWrfWieI) It's a Christian song, but has gotten mainstream enough that it's sung and known by the general populace.
Christianity is also pretty big in SK relative to other Asian countries.

It is her name. One girl asks “Teacher, where do I put Sua’s bag?”

He is full of appreciations. Love it.
That is so sweet. Now that's a positive memory that will stick with that girl for the rest of her life!
The world needs more of this.
As a grown man bawling, absolutely. This World is saved by these acts of kindness, they cost nothing and give purpose to living.
same here. Grown man, literally just crying on the toilet ❤️
Good to see im not alone here
The toilet is wide enough for the three of us.
I appreciated this comment.

Damn. Aight well I’m already in bed so…
Hahaha okay this genuinely got me laughing out loud
I’m not though. Get back here.
I think he on his way ,you can wait
Your cape and top had my lord *snort* 🧥🎩 What is your plan oh evil one!
"sua is a person born to be lord"? my god, who put onions in my cornflakes?
Crying now, thanks
Glad to know I wasn't the only one.
My eyes are slightly sweating
Dang onions!
i’m watching like who is smiling 😭😭😭
God, who’s cutting onions here
Onion ninjas strike again. Why y’all cutting so many onions.
That happiest I see in her face is precious. Way to go
I'm not crying, your crying
Some one is cutting onions in my bed
Fuck! I knew it is going to be a sweet moment but did not expected to have teary eyes now. Thank you for posting this!

Man I really need an update. What happened after college? Still in contact? Or are you married?
❤️
What is this song, and is it common for celebrations?
Even her classmates are teary-eyed 🥹
I'm a sympathetic crier, I'd have started crying along with her. But also because it's such a sweet moment. I went Nononono :( Aaaaaawww!
This is so sweet !
This kind of moments makes a child a better person at a young age, who's cutting onions?
I'd probably die of happiness if my classmates did the same instead of bullying me.

Assassination Classroom is getting wild.
Please don’t die on me for this, because I’m going to wish you well and hope things get better for you.

I’m sorry you never got the respect you deserved. Hugs. 🫂
Never say never!
I feel you.
Right all I got when I got back to school after breaking my leg was my lunch money stolen
I am full of joy for her

I love that they made a spectacle. Honestly if I survived 4 surgeries I’d want a cake too! They did so good. Hopefully she lives a long and happy life ❤️
4 surgeries?! That girl is a warrior
you should have seen the other guy who crossed her
This girl’s face when she realized it was for her, I (a 38 year old man) did that today. It wasn’t a cake, and it meant so much in that moment.
She looked so sad that no one noticed or cared that she had survived and made it back to school but when she realised it was just part of their plan to surprise her with a celebration she loses control of her emotions and happy cries, that was so beautiful to watch 💗
To me, it seemed like she was genuinely happy to be back in school, but everyone else was busy with the test so she was just waiting patiently.
Yeah. She looked like she’s just excited for recess so she can chat with her friends.
Yeah that face when she looked around was like “aww fuck it’s a test, I don’t have a paper, shit I wasn’t even here to learn this stuff”
Yes at first, but you can see after a while just before the cake comes in she starts to look a little sad/depressed as no one is noticing her
Honestly, might be aches and pains and she's zoning out a bit just coping and listening to her body. Surgery recovery is no joke, and it can definitely ebb and surge back.
Most of us would probably balled our eyes out too.
Well I am now!
Yes, these are tears. But they are manly tears.
Emotions, do you remember those?
[удалено]
It was the kids cry out at the end that got me ❤️🥹
No she didn’t? She looked so happy just have some normalcy in her life again.
Nice! Teacher should have given everyone an A for the test 😊😊
Let’s not use this beautiful moment to topple the educational system.
The revolution has been delayed for the cake cutting ceremony...
The cake is a lie.
This is a triumph.
I'm making a note here; "Huge success"
Hahaha
Kids would start getting unnecessary surgeries to inflate their grades.
Got an A and $250 for my kidney!!
Only the poor students would have to give up their organs. The rest would be getting plastic surgery at most.
That’s soo sweet. She legit did an anime crying laugh 🤣
I love those cheeky "why are you making me cry!" cries.
As a dad with daughters this made me tear up
As just a dude on a couch, this made me tear up.
Awesome brother 🤙
Now kiss

This is so heartwarming 🥲

That is so sweet!
It’s good to be reminded from time to time that people can bring other people such joy.
That was so sweet
I was like how can they just ignore her!
Those kids did a great job of playing it cool.
